Chapter 183: A beauty like a famous painting
Zhang Xiao Qiang sat on an ammunition chest in the middle of the camp, eating up one mouth after another of rice off the mess tin. Afternoon lunch was simple, rice with some salted vegetables. Zhang Xiao Qiang, Yang Ke’er, and Shangguan Qiao Yun’s mess tin had some additional garlic shoots fried bacon, the inch-long garlic shoots in segments of twos and threes with three or four pieces of alternating red and white bacon, which Three and a few others also enjoyed. This simple meal was enough to make them salivate, the garlic shoots were too enticing and it had been long since they had green vegetables.
Beneath the flyover that was over a few hundred meters away from the camp was the mountain of zombie corpses left behind. Zhang Xiao Qiang was too lazy to get people to burn them off. Not even mosquitoes would be willing to touch the dead corpses, and the corpses would become dried up mummies from the evaporation of moisture by being directly under the sun, so Zhang Xiao Qiang was also not worried about the bodies giving rise to any plague or disease. Zhang Xiao Qiang’s subordinates were all numb from the sight of the corpses, but the newly obtained captives were all stunned and shock by the mountain of bodies. All of them became even more respectful towards Zhang Xiao Qiang. To them, killing people was not any capability but killing off so many zombies were considered as being truly capable. They were all people who seized food from the existences of zombies, so they knew the rough concept about the zombies. They were a terrifying tide of undead that no one dared to face even if they had guns, but Zhang Xiao Qiang did it with his people.
“BEEEP…..” In the distance, the horn of a large truck came out. Zhang Xiao Qiang placed his mess tin down and stood on the ammunition crate and looked down the hill, three large trucks with a dense cloud of dust trailing behind them were moving towards them at the foot of the hill, with two off-road vehicles driving by the sides of the trucks. People could be vaguely seen standing inside the back of the trucks looking upwards.
The car fleet gradually slowed down and came to a stop, wooden ladders were brought down as all the frail and young came down onto the ground with fearful looks on their faces as they looked around. When they saw the machine gun and mortars mounted on the hill, all of them immediately lowered their heads, no longer daring to look further. The lady that was meant for Zhang Xiao Qiang was brought along with her boy, just that they stood isolated away from the group. As they appeared too lonely, the lady carrying the little girl got down from the vehicle. The little girl in her hands was obedient and did not cry or make a fuss but simply used her pure and simple black eyes to look around. When she saw Zhang Xiao Qiang on the hill, she smiled at him. She had clearly remembered him.
Zhang Xiao Qiang looked at the crowd below and realized that there were two children, the 11 to a 12-year-old boy and the little girl that was not even 5. He got someone to bring both the guardians and their children to him. He looked at the lady hugging her boy and spoke: “You, what skills do you have, what can you do?”
Zhang Xiao Qiang had decided to give the two mothers special treatment, of course, it was not without any conditions, they had to work for themselves. Zhang Xiao Qiang’s inquiry about their skills was to be familiar with them and for them to choose their specific line of work so that they could have more time to take care of their children. As of that moment, there were too few children. Otherwise, Zhang Xiao Qiang would definitely have built a school and teach them how to survive and struggle through the apocalypse, teach them history and have them remember who they were and their ancestors.
“I….I can wash clothes and cook, I can do household ch.o.r.es and take care of children, and….and serve men…” The lady hugging the child spoke up.
Hearing that, Zhang Xiao Qiang was speechless, everything that she said were all simple tasks that could be done by anyone, erm….except for serving men, which only women could do, but Zhang Xiao Qiang had already banned any words on camp prost.i.tution. He looked at her and replied: “If you don’t know anything, go and learn it, you will follow me first, help me do some household ch.o.r.es. In the future, you have to do other things like growing crops, nursing, tailoring, you have to learn everything.”
With that said, he looked at the other lady, with such an old child, Zhang Xiao Qiang reckoned that she had to be above 30. But the fact remained that she looked younger than the mother with the daughter, although her body was not clean as well, her clothes were made out of good material, the child and her were never starved and their faces were not as skinny as the little girl and her mom.
“I’m Xu Meng Zhu, a History graduate of Peking University….” Zhang Xiao Qiang interrupted her introduction and said: “Don’t talk to me about your credentials, I don’t need a History teacher now, what can you do?”
When the lady heard Zhang Xiao Qiang’s immediate rejection, her lips became somewhat dry, while holding onto her child, she subconsciously used her tongue to wet her lips. Her tongue was slender and long, the pink apical gently sliding around her lips, causing Zhang Xiao Qiang’s heart to itch. Zhang Xiao Qiang caught her accidental graceful movements and started to carefully scrutinize her. She was dressed as how she was in the morning, her face still covered with dirt and dust. At that moment, her looks could not be considered breathtaking and more of only pleasing to the eye, but this feeling was different from how he felt from others. With one look, the lady’s appearance was fairly normal without any impactful beauty and could not be compared to Shangguan Qiao Yun, but, the more he looked at her, the more he realized that she was more and more beautiful. There was also a bearing coming off from her, a simple and elegant temperament, a gentleness that one could barely feel, as light as the air in the sky, slowly making a person’s heart comfortable. This lady was a true top beauty because one will never have enough of her, one that had an appearance that no one will ever find boring.
She is like a legendary and famous painting, one will easily miss her from a first glance because of the coloration of the surroundings being more impactful than her beauty, the content of the painting more substantial than her, the masterpiece, until one slowly examines her. When you finish looking at other paintings, you would find yourself going back to her once more, and there you will be a little more surprised, not much, just a little. Because you can sense that the second look is slightly different from the first look. You are unable to tell what the difference is, so you stop in your tracks in front of her and slowly examine her, wanting to find the differences.
It is at this moment that you stop in front of her that you will have fallen into the trap because every look that you have on her is different, it is vague, unclear. So you will continue looking, but you realize that every time you look at her, you have a different understanding. These understandings will never repeat, you will feel that she is like a gigantic gem mine, no matter how much you dig, she will always surprise you. This surprise is never ending, so you want to bring her home to examine her forever. She is the most suitable to be a wife and is the solution to fickle-minded men to no longer be fickle-minded.
“I….My family used to be a Traditional Chinese Medicinal family, I know plenty about prescription and recognize a few Chinese herbal medicines, do you want to take a look?”
Listening to her mumbling, Zhang Xiao Qiang almost wanted to tell her, “I don’t need you to do anything, just warm my bed, that’s all.” Luckily, because of the reservedness and restraint of a male chauvinist, Zhang Xiao Qiang did not say that out loud. He carefully looked at every minute detail on her body, her eyes, her eyebrows, her head shape and her lips. The lady blushed hot red because of Zhang Xiao Qiang’s pa.s.sionate gaze, his eyes pierced deep into her heart that it sent a chill in. She knew that he had set his eyes on her and had some hatred in her heart, she hated that she had such an appearance, no matter where she was, she constantly attracted provocative eyes. But sensing her child’s body heat, she made a decision, to allow Zhang Xiao Qiang’s eyes to tour around her own body.
