Chapter 111: Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!

“Is it good or bad? What do you think?” The elder pointed at Qian Jin’s nose and asked loudly, “Unleas.h.i.+ng warrior power is a combination of volume, quality, and speed! In this equation, the faster the speed, the more explosive your warrior power will be. When you battle with someone who is on the same level as you and your power is more explosive, what do you think the result would be?”

An understanding expression appeared on Qian Jin’s face as he smiled brightly and nodded, “Good stuff, this is great!”

“No sh*t! Of course this is good!” The elder shouted at Qian Jin who was very excited. “Speed, damage, and explosive power; you have an advantage in all three fields! As long as your fighting technique doesn’t suck, it will be hard for you to lose.”

“No wonder why it was hard for me to pa.s.s the threshold of a Demon Fighter.” Qian Jin couldn’t hold back his excitement. “After all, my foundation is just too good.”

“Not bad, not bad! You are finally a Demon Fighter, and a Level 3 Demon Fighter right after advancing from a Level 10 Warrior. Great! Then, you can go and fetch some food for me. Don’t hunt anything like Centaurs. I’m not interested in eating that, since it’s way too gross. Get me something good…”

“Centaurs?” Qian Jin’s hands that were holding onto his Zhanmadao stiffened as he heard that. He looked at the elder who looked very chilly and asked in a surprised tone, “There are Centaurs in Four Season Valley?”

Centaurs! It was a type of demon beast that was half human, and they lived like humans. They were able to use human weapons, especially spears, axes, and bows! Their lower bodies were strong warrior horses, giving extremely fast movement speed. These beasts were very vicious and had a strong sense of territory. They were more dangerous than the three Snow Tigers he had met after the avalanche.

“Of course.” The elder pointed around Four Season Valley and said with a domineering tone, “Four Season Valley covers an area more than twice the size of a province in Zence Empire. There are a lot of demon beasts, and there are many types of demons beasts. Otherwise, why would it get the name of Warrior’s Nightmare?”

After Qian Jin stretched and ma.s.saged his legs, he slowly recovered as he was able to walk again. He grabbed his Zhanmadao and looked at the hills and mountains that were partially covered by a thick fog. He wasn’t too worried; from looking at the terrain from afar, he could tell that it wasn’t as dangerous as the West Mountains in the Endless World.

“Oh! Right, kid.” The elder looked at Qian Jin who had almost disappeared in the thick fog and said, “You can also look around when you are hunting. See if you can find a tree made of copper and has crystal-like fruits on it. If you do find it, just dig it up and carry the whole tree here.”

“On the way?” Qian Jin shook his head and smiled; the Zhanmadao was now on his shoulders. This was probably the elder’s true intention. “There are trees made of copper? Wouldn’t it be metal then? But then how could fruits grow on it? There isn’t such a weird plant recorded on the book [Strange Trees and Weird Plants. Volume 1] in the Qian Family’s library,” he thought to himself.

With a lot of curiosity on his mind, he walked more than six kilometers and finally got away from the bank of the Burning Fire Lake; all the mist in front of him had disappeared as well.

The hills and mountains that were vaguely hidden in the fog showed their vicious appearance.

Qian Jin wasn’t sure if it was because of the fog that distorted the hills and mountains’ shape, but the hills and mountains that didn’t look so big before was about two kilometers tall when Qian Jin got closer to them.

Although it wasn’t comparable to the West Mountains in the Endless World, Qian Jin could clearly feel the danger by just standing at the foot of the hills and mountains.

Dark and moist; these were the descriptions of mountain forests that would never change. Mountain forests would never be described as sunny, bright or warm; only the beach could be a.s.sociated with these terms.

As soon as Qian Jin stepped foot into the mountain forest, hostile roars and cries from beasts such as leopards and wolves immediately sounded. Viciousness dark green lights appeared in the pitch-black forest; they were the eyes of the beasts. Soon, more than a dozen wild wolves and leopards walked out of the places they were resting at.

Qian Jin looked at the beasts that were slowly approaching him. He smashed his Zhanmadao onto the ground and shouted, “F*ck off!”

Whoos.h.!.+

All the wolves and leopards quickly lowered their heads and sprinted back to the forest right after they saw the murderous spirit in Qian Jin’s eyes; they didn’t even have the courage to look at Qian Jin anymore.

The dense murderous spirit along with the nose-piercing b.l.o.o.d.y smell told the beasts’ natural instincts that what they were facing wasn’t some kind of prey. Instead, it was wise for them to back off unless they wanted to become the prey.

Qian Jin shook head as he wasn’t satisfied with his performance. A Demon Fighter’s warrior power would create a naturally domineering temperament. This was why people would feel pressured when they were facing a Demon Fighter.

According to legends, humans had learned of warrior power from real Dragons that no one had seen before and only existed in legends. Therefore, people who had warrior power had a domineering temperament similar to that of dragons.

The natural domineering temperament of warrior power and Qian Jin’s sharp murderous spirit that he developed from his battles on West Mountain didn’t scare these beasts to death; they only got scared and backed off.

“What should I hunt?” Qian Jin walked cautiously in the forest as he thought. Demon Beasts weren’t something that could be easily dealt with. Otherwise, Zence Empire would have come here and conquered this mountain and added it to the map of the Empire long ago.

A timid rabbit ran through the forest. When it saw Qian Jin staring at it, it fell to aside and got scared to death after some twitching.

“I can only scare a rabbit to death…” Qian Jin wasn’t sure if he should feel happy or sad about this. When he bent his back to grab the rabbit, he suddenly s.h.i.+fted his body. A sharp arrow broke through the air, followed by a loud “whoos.h.i.+ng” sound. Bam! The arrow stabbed into a tree, and the body of the arrow that was still outside of tree was vibrating violently.

After this arrow, multiple arrows were shot out of the forest! The trajectories of these arrows were very strange, yet well hidden. Although these hidden archers weren’t as strong as the archer outside of Four Season Valley and the speed of the arrows weren’t as fast, the damage of these arrows was much higher. The arrows made out of only bones were able to stab into the hard trees several centimeters.

After three arrows, Qian Jin finally located the source of these arrows; they were from a Centaur who was about fifty meters away! Qian Jin only saw descriptions and pictures of Centaurs in books. He had never seen them before!

It had a huge horse body as the lower body and a ripped upper body that showed nothing but big muscles. Its height was about three meters! Just by looking at the bow in its hands, Qian Jin felt like that he had to use all of his arms and legs to pull the bow! The bow was huge as well; even if he stretched out his arms to its limits, they still couldn’t cover the body of the bow.

“It’s even bigger than the descriptions in the book!” Qian Jin was surprised. However, the Centaur didn’t give him much time to react. The Centaur stomped the ground with all four of its hooves, and its body already moved to a location that about six meters away from its original location. It pulled the bow in its hands again, but a surprised expression also appeared on its face.

Not killing the prey in three arrows and getting spotted by the prey when it was moving rapidly… Situations like this had never occurred before. The fourth and fifth arrow from the Centaur were almost shot out at the same time; with one arrow aimed at where Qian Jin was going and the other one aimed at where Qian Jin was at, the Centaur had blocked off all the paths that Qian Jin could take. Winning and losing was going to be determined in the next second.

“Shoot, shoot, shoot! Are you done yet?”

Qian Jin just advanced to a Level 3 Demon Fighter and he didn’t even get the chance to show it off. He was feeling very angry since the Centaur was controlling the situation by shooting at him continuously. He couldn’t hold back his anger and smacked an arrow away by using his Zhanmadao like a shovel. As soon as he did that, he stomped the ground and boosted himself forward.

Bam! Bam! Two more arrows were smacked away. The Centaur was stunned as it saw its little prey survive after his fifth arrow. “How dare it charge at me? Is he seeking his own death? Wait, his weapon, it seems to be of very high quality!” the Centaur thought.

Roar! The Centaur roared and threw the bow onto the ground. It touched the necklace that was made from skulls of all kinds of creatures on its neck as it pulled up the spear that was stabbed into the ground beside him. It charged at Qian Jin as well with all four of its strong legs and pierced at Qian Jin with the full force of the spear!

There weren’t any techniques a.s.sociated with this strike. It was a simple strike that the Centaur knew instinctively! It was all about the speed, precision, and power!

This simple and basic strike was also a very powerful strike! Whoos.h.i.+ng, air-piercing sounds instantly resonated in the forest as the spear travelled through the air. If it hit Qian Jin, a b.l.o.o.d.y wound would appear on his body for sure, even though he trained using the Wind and Cloud Golden Body.

“Iron Spear?” Qian Jin’s eyebrow rose. “Which warrior was it? Which warrior came here seeking his own death and left his weapon to this Centaur?” Qian Jin thought to himself. Although he was thinking, his feet weren’t resting. He kicked on a tree beside himself as he was in the air and used the repulsion force to dodge this devastating attack. All one hundred and eight reservoirs in his body started to cycle the warrior power inside his body as his warrior power was conducted into his battle blade.

All of a sudden, a soft and s.h.i.+ny light lit up the dark and gloomy forest. The Zhanmadao turned into a bright sabre as it chopped down, leaving a long bright tail in the air!

The Centaur raised its arms and positioned the spear horizontally in the air as it tried to block this powerful chop.

“Break!”

Tink! A metal colliding noise resonated in the forest instantly. The firm iron spear that looked very dirty and trashy was beyond Qian Jin’s imagination. The spear curved so much that it turned into a perfect arc, but it wasn’t chopped in half by the Zhanmadao! Instead, after the impact, it immediately pushed Qian Jin into the air. He had no way of supporting himself as the spear returned to its original shape.

“This spear is actually a Warrior Weapon?” As Qian Jin flipped in the air, he looked at the spear as the dirt shook off of it during the collision. He shouted in surprise, “This Demon Beast is stronger and bigger than the descriptions in the book… now, it even has a Warrior Weapon?”

Crack…

Right after the initial clash, a bone-cracking noise sounded from the Centaur’s left shoulder. The two arms that were holding the spear in the air could no longer stay in that position. It stared at Qian Jin in shock. When it wanted to chase after Qian Jin, it realized that except for its broken shoulder, its arms that were thicker than human legs went completely numb, and a series of sore and painful sensations bombarded its upper body. Other than that, its thick legs were also sore, and it felt like it was about to kneel down.

“Where did this prey come from?” The Centaur thought as it felt its chest was on fire, and a burning painful sensation travelled across its entire body. There was even a strange force that entered its body through the spear. This force rotated in the Centaur’s body as if it was going to tear the Centaur’s body apart. The Centaur’s numb arms weren’t complete recovered yet, but they were damaged yet again by this strange force.
