Chapter 170: Hayen Brianna

The few guards who were closest to the scouts looked back sub-consciously and were stunned.
The two men on the horses were not their peers at all! They were only wearing the clothes of the two scouts, and the reason why they were leaning forward on the horse was not because they were trying to dodge the arrows, but to not let the guards of the caravans recognize them. Veins were bulging on their arms as they were holding onto their cold-blooded battle blade, and these battle blades were half drawn!
All the mercenaries felt a chill going down their spine. If they opened up their defense line and let the two bandits in, the consequences were unimaginable...
All the mercenaries were scared, but they were able to let go of the breath that they were holding. They moved their weapons that were pointed at Qian Jin and looked him to apologize; from their face, Qian Jin could tell that a lot of them were shocked and showed some admiration.
"Discovering their disguise in such short time when those two bandits were so well covered?" Zachery was surprised by Qian Jin’s observation abilities as he looked at Qian Jin with his head rested on his palm. When Zachery didn’t even discover the disguise, Qian Jin already shot the arrows to kill them. Such decisiveness and such confidence...
"Too bad..." Zachery sighed as he shook his head. "Such great shooting techniques, but he is not a bloodline warrior. Too bad! I have to try to use the energy stones at the Warrior Union to help to condense his warrior energy into warrior power! He would become a great warrior for sure."
"Too bad….. Too bad..."
The more Zachery looked at Qian Jin’s figure, the more apologetic he felt. Even though Fabreidis had this level of decisiveness and confidence at this age, he lacked observation abilities. "Even if I have to use the resources of the union to help him to advance to Demon Fighter, it’s still too bad. This level of shooting technique... Unfortunately, I can only make him advance to a Demon Fighter and not more..."
"He should be a warrior with a bright future." Zachery sighed. "Even the Yuri Family would admire his techniques..." He thought.
The mercenaries quickly pulled the dead bandits and horses into their defense circle as they looked at the other bandits who were approaching them in silence and on guard.
Duren Burg finally turned and jumped off of the horse carriage filled with straw and picked up his elastic spear. "These are the bandits of the Frontier?" He asked with an excited tone.
Black wooden square pieces that were an inch in length were connected together by metal wires and formed sets of black armors.
The armors were black, the horses were black, the flags were black, and even their weapons were black. These bandits of Black Wind gave off a ton of pressure, even though they were just standing still, because of their famous name.
They stopped their horses fifty meters away from the mercenaries. The leader of this team was a strong man who was more than two meters tall. He was wearing a black full body cape made out of black feathers, and the two bandits of Black Wind beside him were each dragging a mercenary covered in dirt.
The mercenaries around the caravans were happy for their peers when they saw them alive, but they soon felt desperate again; at this time, they weren’t too far away from being dead.
A bandit rode his horse forward and shouted: "The caravans at the front, listen up! We are crew seventeen under team three of Black Wind! We suspect that the merchandise that you are carrying contain the military supplies that are prohibited for trade by Zence Empire! Open up and make way for us to inspect them. If you guys don’t have any prohibited goods, we will let you go immediately."
The mercenaries were still silence, but they held onto their weapons tighter. Black Wind Bandit Group was ranked number eight among the top ten bandit groups of the Frontier. The reason for that was because they were vicious enough! They would never let any lives go when they rob caravans. Otherwise, they would only be ranked at number ten.
Boss Leong was hiding behind a caravan. He peaked at the bandits and said with a shaky voice: "We... we are legit merchants, and we don’t have any prohibited goods! Warriors of Black Wind, if you guys need some money, I have a bag of gold coins right here. Although it is not a lot, there are a hundred of them. They might be able to help..."
"A hundred gold coins?" Qian Jin’s eyelids jumped. "Paying a hundred gold coins to bandits? Looks like this caravan group makes a lot of money. So what kind of business are they running? Making an offer of a hundred gold coins upfront is a lot..." He thought.
Qian Jin glanced at the merchandise on the caravans in confusion, but he soon heard the reply from the bandits. "Listen up, maybe you guys heard the rumor that we kill all the lives that we rob, but we want to make it clear that we are the seventeenth crew of the third team at Black Wind! Different from other teams, we only rob the prohibited military goods! If you guys are not carrying any military goods, we don’t rob a single copper coin from you..."
"Not going to rob a single copper coin?" Boss Leong who was trembling as he squatted on the ground looked at the caravans full of good and murmured: "You guys won’t leave a single copper coin for us."
A high-pitched voice suddenly sounded in among the bandits: "Like I said! You guys’ heads are full of sh*t! Why are we talking to them this much? Let’s just kill them all and rob all their stuff."
Qian Jin picked his ear with his pinky finger as he tried to dig out the high-pitched sound from his ears. This high-pitched voice sounded like a man pinched his throat to mimic the voice of a woman. Qian Jin got gooseb.u.mps from just listening to it.
"Mister Tenth Leader! The rules of our crew seventeen have always been like this, and we could be commanded only by Big Leader and the Third Leader. Your duty is only to deliver the prohibited military goods if we actually find them. You shouldn’t get involved with other stuff."
A warrior who was mounted on a horse rode forward, and this warrior instantly caught the attention of all the mercenaries.
The horse was black and looked very strong, and the warrior who was on this horse was wearing a tight black armor as the armor emphasized the ideal female body. Her waist was very slender, but it didn’t give off the feeling of weakness. Her big chest and long legs that were enveloped by the armor lit up a fire in almost every men’s heart.
The most eye-catching attribute about her was her face. The face was covered by a black metal mask, and only her black pupil eyes were visible to others. Even though only her eyes were exposed, it made almost every men fantasize about her. It made all the men wanting to pull off her mask and reveal her face.
As she spoke, she looked at the Tenth Leader of Black Wind. The Tenth Leader’s skin was as white as a woman’s, and no beard or mustache could be seen on his face.
A pair of common yet attractive eyes met a pair of thin and sarcastic eyes. The pupil of the pair of thin and sarcastic eyes contracted as the voice got cold: "Hayen Brianna, your crew seventeen is so troublesome, yet you guys get the least amount of resources for the group. Don’t think that because you saved the Third Leader’s life, you could be protected forever! Black Wind still has Big Leader! The Third Leader wants to overthrow him? He is too young too naïve!"
The coldness in Hayen Brianna’s eyes disappeared as it was replaced by boredom. She looked at this Tenth Leader whose skin was white, had no facial hair, looked thin, and had his eyes popping out a little and said: "Warrick, I made it clear when I joined Black Wind, and both The Big Leader and the Third Leader agreed to my conditions. If you are not happy about crew seventeen, you can go and argue with them."
Other bandits of Black Wind who were on black horses quietly pulled on their reins; it seemed like they wanted to move away from the Tenth Leader semi-intentionally.
Tenth Leader Warrick squinted his eyes and stared at Hayen Brianna as if he would pierce through her with his eyes. "Hayen Brianna! If you have time to argue with me, you could think of ways of saving those two supervisors! I witnessed that they were dragged into that defense circle with my own eyes! If you can’t save them, then even the Third Leader couldn’t protect you from punishments."
A sense of tiredness and helplessness appeared in Hayen Brianna’s black eyes. She pulled on the reins with her hands that were covered in black leopard skin gloves. Her body moved as her horse marched forward, and she said with her crisp voice: "Listen up caravans. Let go of the two people that you captured and make way for us to inspect your merchandise. In the name of Hayen Brianna, I promise you all that if you guys are not carrying prohibited military goods, I will let you go and won’t take a single copper coin from you."
The mercenaries didn’t say anything, but they held onto their weapons even tighter. They stared at the crew seventeen of Black Wind who looked dominating despite the fact that they had fewer members.
"Ten... Tenth Leader... Warrick..." Boss Leong pushed his body against the ground to prevent himself from falling to the ground.
Qian Jin was surprised by Boss Leong’s reaction. "You know him?" He asked.
"Beyond know him..." Boss Leong looked at the two corpses of Black Wind and then peaked at Qian Jin who wasn’t too far away and said while trying to swallow some of his saliva: "It was rumored that a new member joined Black Wind five years ago. This man soon challenged the former Tenth Leader of Black Wind who was a Demon Fighter at the time and killed him. Although I don’t know that was level 9 Demon Fighter, I thought they possessed great power. I heard that the former Tenth Leader who was killed as a level 9 Demon Fighter at the time..."
"Killing a level 9 Demon Fighter five years ago?" Qian Jin looked up at the Tenth Leader who wasn’t too far away and thought: "How much stronger did he get over the years?"
"I also heard..." Boss Leong looked at the surrounding mercenaries who were about to risk their lives but had no hope of surviving and sighed: "It was rumored that... he might be a Bloodline Warrior!"
