Knowing that there was no toxic dust, Fatty became arrogant and when he came to the next room, he kicked the door in.
The situation inside was almost the same as that in the next room, except that the coffin had a different shape and was longer. There were some hard-to-distinguish gold colored lacquers on the coffin, and it seemed that a woman was buried here.
I ignored it and went on reading the epitaph, discovering that my initial judgment wrong. The coffin belonged to a man called Zhang Ruishan who was also a member of the “Qipan Zhang”. I looked through his life and found that he was basically the same as the one we saw next door. He should have died in the same firefight, so his burial place was adjacent.
The only difference was that this person"s parents weren"t as famous as the one next door, but he was given the same treatment because he was “good at management”. In many details, I could see that Zhang Ruishan wasn"t the same as the one next door who had a moderate personality. This Zhang Ruishan seemed to have read foreign books, “understanding reason and good at writing”. He seemed like an open-minded person with a good style of writing.
Fatty said that all the people in this row probably died in the same firefight. I wanted to find new clues, or go a little further, to hopefully see something new.
I was dead set on it, so the two of us went out and walked along the corridor. I was planning on walking through half the building because it was normal for a firefight to kill dozens of people if guns were used. But after walking about 16 or 17 meters, Fatty and I stopped immediately.
Because we suddenly saw that in the middle of the corridor, the door of a room was open.
Obviously, this wasn"t opened by us. As soon as we shined a flashlight in, we found that this door was extremely large, three times larger than the one of the room beside it, and the decoration was completely different. Looking inside, there was a huge coffin that was also opened, but it looked like they didn"t close the coffin lid again like we did—the lid had fallen to the ground.
“What"s the situation?” Fatty looked at me. “Little Brother, have they been here?”
I shook my head, “but the person in this coffin was definitely different from others. Look at this burial chamber. It"s like a presidential suite.”
We walked in, and as soon as I took a look at the ground, I found that there was something wrong. There were no footprints here and the hinges of the opened door were old, the cracks that had been kicked in rotten to the core. The outer edge of the coffin was covered with dust, and the room was filled with incense burners that surrounded the tomb and were also covered with dust.
This door and coffin had been opened for a long time, and looking at the thickness of the dust, at least more than a decade.
“It seems that some people have been here before us, but not Little Brother.”
“Was this from the last funeral?”
“You f.u.c.king rob a tomb after finishing a funeral? Your ancestors must be mad." I said, “It can"t be a funeral, it"s a grave robbery.”
“d.a.m.n it, our brothers who got here before us must be laughing so hard. This outstanding talent also had the power to shake the entire grave robbing circle and I"m the so-called Fat Prince of Grave Robbing. The few of us who have come to this place have all worked so f.u.c.king hard and how many of us are still dead or alive? Is there anything worse than us?” (TN note: wasn"t sure about this paragraph).
“Ghost said that at that time, many of them had entered the ancient building but died in it, so this coffin may have been opened by them. That was 30 years ago. “
“Didn"t they come for the funeral procession, why would they steal things?”
I said: “Those people were originally grave robbers and some of them weren"t of high quality so the possibility of stealing was very high. Moreover, the struggle was too intense at that time. Ghost may not know, or want to say, whether the group entered the building for any other purpose, but under the circ.u.mstances, it was possible.”
I conveniently took a look inside the huge coffin—there was a skeleton, completely covered with dust, and the situation was similar to what I saw before. I turned to the wall and looked at the man"s name—who was this awesome guy?
After looking at it, I paused for a moment, thinking I was wrong. Then I walked over and looked closer. I saw two familiar words—Zhang Qilin.
“This is Little Brother"s coffin.” Fatty said, “It turns out that Little Brother is a big zombie!”
“Don"t be ridiculous.” I said, immediately lifting the flashlight and carefully looking at the words behind.
There must be something fishy about this. It can"t be what it looks like.

TN Note: Woohoo! Another book done! Well technically Vol 8 is split into 2 parts and this is part 1. For continuity"s sake, I"m just going to treat Ch. 1 of Vol. 8 Part 2 as chapter 52. If you look at , the author just kept the chapter numbers going so I"ll do that too even though Amazon split Vol 8 into 2 separate books (the greedy jerks).
I might take a breather tomorrow and start back up on Sat.u.r.day, but I also wanna know what happens next so I might surprise us all and upload a chapter tomorrow lol. To all of you bothering to read this far in and not flaming my s.h.i.tty translations, THANK YOU. I saw those 2 1-star ratings (with no review) on Novel Updates and they honestly made me kinda sad/disappointed lol. Like d.a.m.n, I"m working a full time job and doing this in my free time. If it was because of me, at least let me know what I can do to try to fix it. If it was for the author, why the h.e.l.l are you 6+ books in and just now giving a one star? But I digress, thanks for sticking with me this far you beautiful souls. (´▽`)
