Devil's Rise

Chapter 92

I headed back to my room and brought out my old resentment weapon, Lokkar, and looked over her. Lokkar had traveled with me for many years. But she was not fitting of this young lord anymore. Smas.h.i.+ng things with overwhelming strength, that was the way of the Forge G.o.d Soulless.

This new weapon that I forge should encompa.s.s all the Daos I hold dear. Fire, Electric, Soul, Curse, and Metal. They all should effortlessly flow through this grand hammer. Not only will I use it for forging, but I will also use it to slay my enemies.

My Soul Dao had been moving along with the faith provided from the Earthen World, I was quite surprised when I started feeling it.

Rezi had not let me down. The Templars of Flame were now a respected religion in the Earthen World. Common Dwarfs from all around prayed to the Forge G.o.d Soulless.

And even the stupid merfolk Freedom had started a sect within the merfolk he called the Freedom Sect. It had no rules, only freedom. The sect was very popular with the merfolk who didn"t want to "wuk fa see".

With my lightning blessing, they could travel freely within the seas. A minor cost for them to spread my faith "The Wanders of Lightning" far and wide.

The Earthen World had shaped up nicely. I wasn"t really concerned with conquering it anymore by force. Now I didn"t even have to do anything, and it was gathering me faith. Destiny and Freedom were the vanguards of their religions, Freedom on the surface, and Destiny in the shadows.

In time the entire world would pray to me and be mine by default. Why fight with pitiful mortals who would die off when their descendants would one day all wors.h.i.+p this young devil lord?

I moved to the forge to begin my new weapon.

For the head, I mixed an alloy of Flamet.i.tanium and Thundersand, both Tier-3 materials for Fire and Electric Dao. Once the alloy was complete, it was bubbling with fire wisps and sparks.

"Perfect, this is exactly how I imagine my new weapon," I thought.

"I shall call this alloy Burnspark Ore."

Everything was going as planned, the weapon was coming together nicely.

To begin the process of forging my weapon. I formed the central hole for the hammerhead, but when I saw it I thought.

"Why don"t I make an ax on one side? That way I can slash things in combat."

I began hammering out one side to be an ax. Cleaning up the flat and the hammer side. It was a grueling process working with the head. Grinding and sharpening the ax and the hammerhead.

The hammer side wasn"t big enough, so I built extra parts out of Burnspark Ore to make the hammer side larger. I had to blend the wields in the weapon to make it look like a solid piece.

Blending and wielding the seams made it have a nice v-ca.n.a.l running along the hammer. I continued to build off pieces for both the hammer and the ax, wielding the pieces to the weapon. Gradually the weapon took shape.

The weapon got heavier and heavier as I went on. Grinding out all the wields. I had to make it as beautiful as possible. I began checking the form for the lancets, the reinforced sections that ran along the hammer to give it a lot of strength.

When I was done the hammerhead was one solid piece. You couldn"t tell she was wielded together from several pieces to improve her weight.

The hammerhead weighed 400 to 500 pounds by my estimate. It was truly a beast fitting of this strong young lord!

For the hammer"s neck, I choose Soulresin. It was a Tier-3 Soul material that let Soul essence flow unimpeded. Soul Dao was central to my Dao path, so I would make it central to my weapon.

I bound the neck to the hilt with Cursevine. I embedded Withering and Enfeeble within these tangled vines that ensnared the neck to the base.

Now my new weapon had taken form!

One side was a gigantic hammerhead, on the other lay an executioner"s ax. Through the middle ran the curse vines connecting the head to the Soulresin hilt. I engraved a book on the top of the weapon.

Next to the book, I engraved "Libra"s Judgment: Property of Soulless".

This weapon had a fearsome name! Libra"s Judgment, the gigantic hammer-ax had been born today. She was not a cursed soul weapon like Freedom and Destiny. This beauty was a true resentment weapon.

Soon my enemies will grovel to this weapon once it fills with the resentment of a thousand enemies. Holding the freshly forged weapon in my hands, I felt a swell of pride.

It took me years to reach this point, where I could forge such an exemplary weapon customized for myself. This weapon was miles above Lokkar, the simple dagger. I can"t wait to test it on those chaotic demons!

"Fine weapon," said Old Zaymore as he looked over my work.

"Now give me back old faithful."

I handed back old faithful to the old blacksmith. She had served me well, but now I had a beauty of my own design to wield.

I used Judgment to reinforce the alloys of Lokkar with Burnspark Ore. Upgrading it to a Tier-3 weapon. She would stay at my side, as a secondary weapon.

With Judgment in my hands, I was ready to face the hordes of demons within this Rift!

"Old Zaymore, I will head out to the battlegrounds now. The blacksmithing is up to date and in a much better position than it was before I came. I need to reinforce this fresh beauty with the resentful souls of live victims," I said.

"You young fellas are always looking for a way to get yourself killed. Sit in this shop and forge and you will be alive at the end of your service," said Old Zaymore as he shook his head.

"There"s nothing that awaits those that venture out on the Sea of Death but death itself. It"s why it"s named that lad."

"Old fogey, I am young and talented. If I do not improve myself, I will end up like you. Old, grey, and banished to the Rift; without being able to control my fate. I would never live such a life," I said, picking up Judgment and exiting the shop that had been my home for the past two years.

I didn"t give Old Zaymore a second glance, His understanding of blacksmithing was great, but he had staggered at the Baron realm. Who would this young lord be if he made no further progress?

I could not be a simple Baron living under some Emperors ruling in my twilight years. I had to train and improve for the freedom to choose my destiny.

The chaotic demons would be my grinding stone now. The demons would tremble under the wrath of Judgment!
