Chapter 3323 Acquiring Land
Davis spent the entire night with Fiora as he made love with her and later slept with her.
The exhaustion utterly disappeared, his soul force was fully restored, and his soul essence also regenerated to ninety-nine percent with him using Fallen Heaven. He used Fallen Heaven after he restored his soul essence to ninety-five percent so that he could raise it faster.
After all, even if he could restore soul essence with his own life energy, restoring soul essence after ninety percent becomes incredibly difficult and time-consuming, especially after ninety-five percent, and the last one percent is nearly impossible to restore unless he used Fallen Heaven.
However, Davis didn"t restore the last percent. He might go to ninety-nine point nine percent, but never fully hundred as that was a full circle, and when using Fallen Heaven, he knew never to go complete a cycle.
Waking up in the morning, he kissed Fiora"s forehead, waking her up. Her eyelids quivered ever so lightly before they opened, her lips curling into a gleeful smile.
"I"ll help you with your cultivation another time, alright?"
"That"s not a problem. Visit me more."
Fiora winked at him, causing him to smilingly nod.
"I"ll do."
They both cleaned up in the bathroom before he left her room.
Davis summoned his soul body and had it conceal itself before it contacted one of the Legion Captains of the Reaper Soul Legion.
"Praezen, lead half of your division and come with me."
"Yes." The sudden visit shocked Legion Captain Praezen, but he quickly reclaimed his calm and responded, "What are we going to do, Legion Master?"
He placed his hand on his brown beard and contemplated with a curious expression. His facial features also seemed to be no longer middle-aged but youthful, as his vitality seemed to have soared.
"We"re going to build a base or perhaps another home."
"Understood."
Legion Captain Praezen nodded.
They bought palaces and construction materials from the Aurora Cloud Gate"s Treasury and sped off into the distance.
When Davis and the others pa.s.sed the border of the Aurora Cloud Gate Domain and arrived at the Fire Phoenix Clan"s Border City, someone was there to receive him, and it was none other than the soul body of Great Ancestor Zenflame himself.
"You"re finally here. I"ll be here in five minutes."
"No need. Just hand over what I asked and be done with it."
"As you wish."
Great Ancestor Zenflame realized that it wouldn"t look good for both of them to act friendly with each other as they led different powers. Otherwise, he could even be seen as someone who colluded with the Emperor of Death to bring down the current rulers of the Fire Phoenix Clan.
Gullible people would think like that once they hear conspiracy theories, but smart people would know that the person who founded the Zenflame Clan would not have to resort to such things to reclaim power.
Nonetheless, he handed over Davis the deed to the land, a Blood Soul Contract.
It came with the blood mark of Great Ancestor Zenflame, and Davis only needed to sign it to own this land. The mountains, rivers, valleys, cities, and the skies above it, everything within the range of the deed belonged to him.
Davis didn"t hesitate to sign without checking, and Great Ancestor Zenflame was moved, finally heaving a sigh in his heart as he felt the revenge of the Emperor of Death was complete.
He would no longer be a threat to the people, although he didn"t know if natural calamities would strike them from this moment since he had etched a piece of land in the Emperor of Death"s name. Still, saving the people was a good decision, an achievement he could be proud of, so he didn"t regret swallowing his pride and being subjected to the decisions or the whims of the Emperor of Death.
"…"
Davis"s eyes flashed with a strange glint as he saw that Great Ancestor Zenflame"s karmic virtue had increased by a large amount from the last time he saw him.
This meant that the people of the Fire Phoenix Clan, hundreds of millions or a few billion people, acknowledged him as their savior.
He swiped his hand at Great Ancestor Zenflame, taking all of that for himself and leaving him with the amount of karmic virtue he had last seen.
"Wait… what…?"
Great Ancestor Zenflame blinked at Davis"s gesture and suddenly felt as though his weight had dropped, but checking his body, he saw that it was only an illusion as nothing had happened to him.
Meanwhile, Davis was disappointed as that wasn"t enough to make the karmic virtue he collected to break into the fourth tier, making him once again understand that the gap must be huge. Otherwise, Reselius Zenflame, who had lived for so long and had done so many good things, would"ve acc.u.mulated fourth-tier karmic virtue once again.
"Sorry about that." Davis smiled lightly, "I thought a wisp was making fun of us."
"…" Great Ancestor Zenflame blinked at Davis"s words before he cupped his hands, "In any case, I greatly appreciate your understanding, as I"ve seen worse from Divergents."
"Well, thank you for the gift."
Davis smiled as he cupped his hands back. Although his karmic virtue didn"t break the bottleneck, it was still better than nothing, allowing him to near that bottleneck slowly but surely.
But with this, the transaction that should"ve gone through numerous discussions, verification, and acceptance was completed just like that.
The land now belonged to him. The taxes that are paid on this land would go to his coffers, although Davis didn"t think anyone would dare to remain on this cursed land.
Even now, he could see people fleeing the cities in droves, not that he cared, as he just wanted the land.
"That said, I"m surprised you inheritors are still alive, much less at the fact that your land hasn"t been conquered and subjected to cruel actions yet."
Davis chuckled, causing Great Ancestor Zenflame"s lips to curl as he opened up to the things he had to commit to.
Apparently, the Fire Phoenix Clan sold its land and a.s.sets in the Southern Fire Phoenix Prefecture to the Central Primesky Alliance for a low price, allowing them to have an official base of operations. This also allowed the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and the other powers of the Central Primesky Alliance to forgo their hostility as they gained an immense amount of wealth from this transaction, with most rights belonging to the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.
Then, over forty percent of the Fire Phoenix Clan"s total wealth was given to the Phoenix Alliance as a tribute to being able to rejoin.
Considering the ones who had done the crime of wanting to enslave an inheritor in front of many powers were dead, and the Fire Phoenix Clan had taken much damage from the Emperor of Death, the Phoenix Alliance thought they had suffered enough and allowed them to re-enter but with the condition of offering tribute to the Phoenix Alliance so that the Fire Phoenix Clan would feel the pain of acting as they pleased for the past millions of years.
Naturally, Great Ancestor Zenflame didn"t do anything wrong, but he had to pay for the crimes of his descendants and cough up a huge amount to be able to rejoin. It was painful, to say the least, but that"s what happens to defeated powers.
If they weren"t annihilated, they were subjugated, transformed into slaves, va.s.sals, or kept as crystal cows.
