Chapter 3480 Facing The Empress"s Heart Demon
Davis and Evelynn arrived at the Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid"s Inheritance Site.
Because of his prowess and comprehension of s.p.a.ce Laws, Davis quickly arrived there. He still remembered back then how he was clueless and needed Myria"s help to get around, but now, with Evelynn"s sense of direction in correlation with her inheritance ring and his ability to traverse s.p.a.ce, it didn"t even take a minute for them to appear there.
On top of the barren ground filled with crevices, the inheritance palace was shaped like an evil spider, appearing menacing. This s.p.a.ce was a small pocket that could"ve disappeared into the void if this area were to collapse.
However, it only reminded Evelynn of the progress she made.
Obtaining the Emperor-Tier Blood Essence really changed her life, allowing her to keep up with talented monsters like Isabella and s.h.i.+rley. She always knew she couldn"t match their innate talent, but that changed when she met Mistaltae and became a fey, getting cured by Davis before meeting Hexena Xylusc.
Mira had also given her Emperor-Tier Blood Essence to her, so her body right now had the suitable blood composition to maintain her state as an Emperor-Tier Fey.
Needless to say, her children had also inherited her blood.
Emperor-Tier Blood or King-Tier Blood usually didn"t pa.s.s down. Otherwise, there would be too many Emperor-Tier Magical Beasts and Feys out there.
However, perhaps Davis"s blood was so pure and dense that it allowed Azariel and Viridia to inherit the Emperor-Tier Blood Essence of both the Earth Dragon and the Three-Eyed Hex Chromatic Arachnid.
She was a.s.sured that they were going to be extremely strong even without being born immortals.
Therefore, she had no mental bottlenecks barring her path, making her feel like she was a true cultivator now.
They walked into the inheritance palace.
They would have had to give up their spatial rings, but with Evelynn"s inheritance ring, she easily allowed them to enter. There were completely no requirements as this structure belonged to her.
"After I gain control of the soul essence and absorb it, should I see if the connection to the First Haven World is still there?"
"Of course."
Davis didn"t tell her that the ascension mechanism was broken yet.
It wasn"t like he told her, but he didn"t want to put pressure on her to find a way out. She was the type to take the burden in his stead, after all.
Turning to look at her, he enjoyed her majestic figure. The way she walked intrigued him, causing him to walk slower and lag behind her to see her lovely peaches. He was mesmerized, causing Evelynn to glance behind and smirk at him.
Her movements turned more lewd as she walked more s.e.xily and occasionally turned around to show her curves and flew around like a fairy, causing Davis to follow like a starved man who spotted a sumptuous feast in a barren land.
They enjoyed the flirting until they made it to the inheritance chamber, where the monument was located.
"This is where Hexena Xylusc, the last Empress of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid race, slumbers…"
Evelynn uttered with some complicated emotions. She was going to have to kill Hexena Xylusc herself as she had sealed herself in this monument, allowing her heart demon to take over her. Evelynn had a leeway of a hundred years until the heart demon fully overtook Hexena Xylusc"s remnant soul and turned into a calamity for the denizens of the Grand Beginnings Continent, but she couldn"t believe she was here so soon.
It didn"t even take three years for her to return as an Immortal King, a powerful one at that, already able to battle against Level Nine Immortal Kings. It filled her with pride, causing her to turn to look at her husband, who made it possible by having blinding trust in her even if she had so many dangerous abilities to wreck anyone in the family.
She couldn"t help but giggle, thinking back to the point when she thought it was all over after she forcefully became a fey in order to get revenge for him.
Davis raised his hand and held her cheek, "Go. Show that heart demon who you are."
"Mhm~" Evelynn leaned over his palm as though taking in all the warmth, "It wouldn"t take long, so wait for me."
Davis nodded, dropping his hand, and watched her walk towards the monument.
She went ahead and stopped when she came to stand in front of it, feeling an evil aura radiate from it. Narrowing her eyes, she came to know that Hexena Xylusc"s remnant soul might"ve already been taken over, but it just lacked the energy to break the seal and come out.
Making contact with it would surely allow it to get out since she would be a pathway for it.
However, Evelynn didn"t fear Hexena Xylusc"s heart demon.
She raised her hand and touched the monument.
*Bzzzz!~*
The moment she did, an evil aura emerged, threatening to destroy everything in its wake. A dark-red aura undulated out of the monument, filling the chamber with an eerie atmosphere.
"You appeared as you said you would. How cool~"
Hexena Xylusc"s voice echoed, but it sounded extremely treacherous, filled with the intent to kill. Her aura radiated as it shot into Evelynn"s soul sea, trying to take over her soul.
"A hexling like you should go train for another thousand years before deciding to challenge me, the Empress of a hex-attributed race, in a battle of souls."
Evelynn had her brows narrowed, watching her soul be covered with more and more mist that was full of hex. It appeared to be a technique that bound one"s soul to a battle of wills. Losing it would surely enslave her to the caster, which was this heart demon.
"Is that all you"ve got?"
However, Evelynn"s voice was one of disappointment.
Inside Evelynn"s soul, Hexena Xylusc"s heart demon suddenly found that she was unable to bind Evelynn"s soul essence with her hex. It abruptly turned invulnerable in her senses, like it was a mountain that couldn"t be crushed, causing it to shudder.
Turning to look behind, she saw Evelyn"s third eye glare at her. That gentle eye of hers appeared poisonously vicious.
"As expected. I shouldn"t have expected much of a battle from a remnant soul. You"re too weak to battle me but don"t worry. I"ll fulfill the promise I made to Master Hexena and protect the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan."
Hexena Xylusc"s heart demon abruptly felt herself overwhelmed by the red hue of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid, causing her existence to collapse. She exploded into a string of hexes, causing her soul essence to manifest within Evelynn"s soul sea.
Outside, Davis saw Evelynn"s third eye open and s.h.i.+ne with her crimson Collapse Hex. Even her pair of eyes shone crimson, making her appear like an evil calamity. She looked so s.e.xy with her indifferent expression, causing him to have fantasies rather than worry about her.
A few seconds later, the crimson light in her eyes dispersed, and she turned to look at him, smiling lightly.
"That was too easy. I overwhelmed Hexena Xylusc"s heart demon…"
"That"s how powerful you are, my Hex Demoness."
Davis"s praise caused her smile to widen. She took a step forward, appearing in front of Davis before she embraced him while hovering.
Evelynn imagined it would be somewhat easy as Hexena Xylusc had told her to come here after becoming an Immortal King. Even then, she felt like it would be somewhat tricky, but she never expected it to be like squas.h.i.+ng an ant.
However, she would"ve found this battle extremely hard if she had faced it while being a mortal. Her soul could"ve also been tempered in its early stages for more benefits, but it didn"t make a difference to her since her soul was already strengthened by Mira"s Emperor-Tier Soul Essence.
It covered the difference. Now, she obtained the Hexena Xylusc"s Emperor-Tier Soul Essence. If she wasn"t wrong, it was at the Immortal King Stage, the sole reason that Hexena Xylusc probably recommended that she didn"t face this evil heart demon while being a mortal. Besides, this was a True Soul Essence that would give her a great boost to her soul prowess and her cultivation.
She could see herself catching up to her fellow sisters quickly.
"As long as we"re together, no one could stop us." She tightened her hug over Davis.
"That"s right."
Davis caressed her head, kissing her forehead.
His first wife had been sitting still for so long due to pregnancy that she probably hated herself for not being able to do much, even regretting that she couldn"t come with him to the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm.
"Is there a bed here to celebrate?"
He couldn"t help but teasingly ask, but Evelynn shyly raised her head and looked at him with a gaze filled with expectations, her breathing hurrying.
"We"ll just bring out one…"
"…"
"…"
Their stare grew intense before he threw her down and ravaged her above the bed he summoned, losing control of himself over her perfect body.
The next few hours were filled with moans in the chamber that if Hexena Xylusc was still alive, she might"ve murdered them.
