Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3827  Metenoa Arlain

Chapter 3827  Metenoa Arlain

Eyebrows squirmed and the eyelids shuddered before shooting open.

The Metenoa Family"s Autarch quickly sprung up as his expression churned in pain, managing to be seated as he hurriedly looked around. A spitting headache kept him frowning but by this time, he knew what he had been subjected to as there had been times where he could see what was going on and hear a few things about a slave seal or whatnot.

What was true wasn"t clear but by now, he knew the black-robed people around him weren"t to be trifled with.

The fact that he was reduced to this stage by a bunch of Immortal Emperors scared him.

He forcefully moved his ice-covered hand and rubbed his forehead.

"What do you all want…?"

He asked, sounding grumpy before he looked up again.

"Am I a slave now?"

"Indeed."

A deep, manly voice sounded, causing the Metenoa Family"s Autarch to turn and look at a black-robed man who was an Immortal King.

"Your soul is injured a lot and your body wouldn"t last long if the ice energy"s invasion completed its revolution into your soul. The slave seal on you has already been cast. It is up to you to decide whether you want to submit or defy us."

"Submit and you shall prosper."

"Defy and you shall perish."

Two more feminine yet cold whispers echoed in the cave.

He recognized it was none other than the woman who stabbed him with those deadly scythes and the other was that woman who put up the spatial barrier that stopped his talisman"s explosion.

"…"

Regret filled his heart and soul.

If only his fire-attributed talisman had covered the entirety of the area, he could"ve at least used the chaotic atmosphere to escape. No, even before that, he wondered why he had come here. He blamed himself for chasing these people. He felt that he should"ve stayed with his wives instead of trying to seek revenge for his dead subordinates.

"…"

Davis looked away, barely containing his laughter.

He didn"t expect Evelynn and Isabella to add to his sentence. Now he felt like he was part of a cult.

Nonetheless, the seriousness of the situation didn"t leave his body, allowing him to recover and look at the Metenoa Family"s Autarch.

"You have a minute to decide, so answer while I"m being generous."

"Wait… what do you mean by prosper? Does that mean I have a chance to be freed?"

The Metenoa Family"s Autarch asked with hope in his eyes.

He was subdued by pain as his head kept throbbing, which disallowed him from checking what kind of slave seal was placed on him.

First of all, was enslaving an Autarch even possible for Immortal Emperors? Even other Autarchs would find it difficult to enslave an Autarch since all three of their cultivations were united, making it so that all three would have to be restricted.

If they had enslaved him, how were their souls held up against him?

If their souls weren"t holding up to his soul pressure and were going to collapse, then that would mean it was an active slave seal. If their souls were not at all affected, then he guessed this was a pa.s.sive technique that allowed him to retain his freedom but certain conditions were imposed on him, causing him to be restricted in some cases.

The Metenoa Family"s Autarch recognized he met with some tough opponents with mysterious energies and powerful techniques.

His gaze fell on Davis, recalling that iridescent energy he had no idea about yet the immense soul pressure he forced upon him and crushed his soul was still etched in his memory.

"You think we have a need for such a weak Autarch?" Davis sounded offended, his voice cold.

"…"

It made the Metenoa Family"s Autarch quiver above the cold surface of the cave.

Perhaps it was the ice covering his body. He couldn"t stop s.h.i.+vering. This man… this man in front of him made him more fearful than he felt of the others.

Why was he still an Immortal King? Was it not a disguise? If he was truly an Immortal King, how could he be talking to an Autarch like this?

Wasn"t this person afraid that he would die from a single wave of his hand even in a weakened state?

After all, reaching the Autarch Stage meant becoming a being surpa.s.sing a Transcendent. It didn"t mean leaving their transcendent coil but it certainly meant not a single transcendent whose prowess is below the Peak Sovereign Stage would be able to leave a scratch on their body, much less harm them, so it was quite incredulous to consider an Immortal King or a Monarch for that matter would be able to harm an Autarch.

None of it made sense yet that was what spooked him beyond compare.

Just who was this person?

"Thirty seconds left…"

An indifferent voice echoed out from the black-robed Immortal King, causing him to clench his teeth.

So what if he was cornered?

How can an Autarch possibly succ.u.mb to those who had a lower cultivation base? It was a stain he couldn"t get rid of if he agreed.

His expression churned with fury and reluctance.

"Ten seconds left…"

Yet, the indifferent voice that was devoid of sympathy or hate echoed again, making him shudder before he lowered his head.

"I, Metenoa Arlain, submit to you…"

His voice was low and his youthful face looked like it had aged a bit as he sighed with his shoulders dropped.

Davis"s lips curled. He got what he wanted.

With those words, the impact of Judgment Laws strengthened even more as the other party had just relegated the authority of his autonomy over to him.

Davis bent on one knee and held Metenoa Family Autarch"s shoulder.

"You will come to know who I am eventually and should you betray me, you and your family will be haunted by innumerable calamities."

"…!"

"Metenoa Arlain, if you were to ever speak about our encounter to someone else or act in a way that harms us in the slightest way, then you will turn silent and head back to your wives and meet a silent death as you commit suicide."

This was the same sentence Davis used to imbue Judgment Laws on the Metenoa Family"s Autarch.

Then came Evelynn"s powers, a slave seal using Poison Hex as a base with the condition being the same.

The Metenoa Family"s Autarch would be poisoned if he were to betray them and due to Judgment Laws, his actions could be controlled to a certain degree until the judgment fell.

Davis was full of emotion as he felt like he had reached the point where he could karmically control people. Although the effect wasn"t nearly the same, he was almost there.

"When you commit suicide and implode, the poison in your soul will ensure that every being in your vicinity will be poisoned to death and by vicinity, I mean your entire family…"

Davis didn"t forget to intimidate the Metenoa Family"s Autarch more.

He didn"t believe a warning alone was enough to keep the Metenoa Family"s Autarch silent. After all, Davis couldn"t tell what would happen when the Metenoa Family"s Autarch finally found out that he had come face to face with the Divine Emperor of Death, a wanted Anarchic Divergent searching throughout the Lower Realms.

That might prove to be even more terrifying or simply spell his doom if the Metenoa Family"s Autarch sense of justice was too strong.

"No… please… spare me… I will not betray…"

However, the Metenoa Family"s Autarch trembled, beginning to plead as he felt the strange energy in his soul pulsate at Davis"s words. It terrified him.

"…"

Davis stared at him.

Although he didn"t get to view his memories much, he knew one thing. This man was a rock when it came to feelings and was ruthless in the management of his power but he loved his family, especially his wives.

He didn"t let a single one of them suffer in terms of wealth and built a palace for all of them in separate lands that Davis felt like wanting to do the same but didn"t have the time, place nor the security to do so.

It was pretty s.h.i.+tty of him to do this to others when he was doing everything in his power to not be on the other side, but Davis"s eyes were devoid of sympathy.

"Good. From now, you will be my loyal slave for a hundred thousand years."

"..."

The Metenoa Family"s Autarch thought about the timeframe and felt like he could live with that as he was over four hundred thousand years old. All he had to do was keep quiet about this encounter and make sure that he didn"t harm this man, right?
