"Besides, he hid the soul mark because you would"ve tried to follow, wouldn"t you have, Evelynn?"
Evelynn blinked and felt this reasoning was well within the truth. She smiled and no longer felt stifled, briskly walking into the mountainous forest that was densely populated with trees and bushes.
======
Half a day pa.s.sed.
Evelynn"s survival in the fringes of the Sunset Tear Mountain was progressing smoothly with none of the Magical Beasts who had caught sight of her dared to come close because of the gap in their strengths.
Evelynn stood on the branch of a large tree, trying to approach a seven-meter snake that looked like it could swallow her whole and digest her entire body into energy for it to grow.
Its slithering body adopted a circular pattern with green scales and its reptilian eyes were staring at Evelynn in a threatening manner.
Evelynn did not feel scared at all since she had hunted Magical Beasts before in the Grand Sea Continent Meet and even before that during training sessions conducted in the Cauldon Family.
*Whoos.h.!.+~*
The snake swirled over to the side and shot down to the ground. It then hissed at Evelynn and escaped in another direction as if telling her to leave it alone.
However, Evelynn understood that it was provoking her but she didn"t chase it since she knew how some Magical Beasts led to their lairs. She shot a look towards the distance and saw the snake approaching the direction of a cave.
"As expected..." She inwardly felt proud of her guess and took off in another direction, no longer interested in the Sky Beast Stage Magical Beast which escaped.
So far, she arrived at the conclusion that Magical Beasts were definitely not fools and savage like the ones she had seen most of the time. All of them had intelligence, but the ones in the Grand Sea Continent never seemed to rely on thinking while these Magical Beasts here formed a stark contrast in how they acted.
They all used their intelligence, thought, and acted.
"Perhaps it is an Earth Rank Species Magical Beast, no?"
"Then that means that lying in ambush in the cave could possibly be an adult Sixth Stage Magical Beast?" Evelynn inwardly shuddered at this sudden revelation.
She turned to look back as a form of validation and suddenly saw that a five-meter wide snakehead emerged out of the cave and looked at her, hissing its tongue as if it were licking its lips. It"s sharp reptilian eyes that resembled the small snake that had escaped started to cast an unknown power at her.
Evelynn"s heart almost leaped out of her throat. She didn"t dare to look anymore and escaped in another direction as fast as she could, her silhouette flas.h.i.+ng past many trees as she flew almost four hundred meters per second!
Nevertheless, she didn"t know that on the other side, the snake silently closed its eyes and touched the ground as if were sleeping. Then after half a minute, it magically disappeared as if it never existed in the first place.
As for the seven-meter long little snake, it suddenly wondered why its mother had disappeared and became scared. It then wandered around, frantically searching for its mother in the cave entrance but it didn"t know that it was never destined to find its mother again.
It only managed to find its siblings deep in the cave, swallowing the carca.s.s of a human and some other Magical Beasts in pieces.
A few tens of kilometers away from the cave, Evelynn finally stopped and wiped off the sweat that flowed down her forehead. The rapidly beating heartbeat also had relatively calmed down when she noticed that the enormous snake was no longer following or attacking her.
"Just its head alone had been five meters wide... Its entire body should"ve been more than forty meters long, no?" Evelynn inwardly shuddered again.
"Did I perhaps enter the inner region? No! I"m still in the outer region and this Saint Beast Stage Magical Beast should just be an outlier living in the edge of the Sunset Tear Magical Beast Mountain..."
Evelynn silently laughed at herself, "And here I was wondering why he; my husband left me in this region to survive... Just when I thought that it is too easy... Turns out other than these Low-Stage Magical Beasts, there are also outliers like before..."
She had been finding it extremely easy to traverse these areas, and that gave her a sense of feeling that she was on a trip rather than to train. Initially, she had been cautious but the more time pa.s.sed, the more it gained on her until the time she saw that big snakehead emerge out of the cave.
She completely calmed down a few seconds later and jumped down to the ground when suddenly, she started to feel incredibly sad. The moment when Davis left her flashed past her eyes and the urge to let out tears of sadness welled up within her.
But before it could happen, she closed her eyes and no longer looked at the illuminated mountains that absorbed the rays of sunset. Perhaps because of the source of the glow, she found a few vines that started to radiate a glow due to the sunset.
"Such a glow from these vines can make my feelings swirl in disarray. It is making my thoughts go chaotic... How terrifying..." Evelynn took a deep breath and calmed down her chaotic emotions.
A few moments pa.s.sed but the glow was still present. She knew it lasted till the sun completely set, hence, she still had her eyes closed but she wasn"t scared.
A few seconds later, Evelynn suddenly narrowed her brows as she turned in a direction. The direction in front of her was silent and calm to her ears but she opened her mouth, "What do you want?"
She knew that there was undoubtedly a man a few meters in front of her!
How? Because her physical sense that was at the Gold Stage told her so!
At the same time she echoed, Evelynn brought out her Peak-Level Infant Soul Stage Soul Sense and instantly outlined the man who seemed to have an astonished yet crying expression on his face.
He had a rough face with black eyes, long nose, and medium-sized lips along with slightly tanned skin. His entire build could be said to be slightly burly while his crimson hair draped over his shoulders.
He wore a dark black sleeveless robe, hence his muscles were outlined in her mind as well.
Evelynn quickly retracted her Soul Sense feeling disgusted because she noticed the man holding the "Seal" Inscription on his hand. She jumped back and traversed away to a branch that was at a distance away and continued to escape.
"Wait!" The man shouted.
His tone was rather pleasant but his actions were definitely not, because Evelynn knew that this person definitely had ill intentions against her.
"Stop following!"
Evelynn did not stop. She relied on her physical sense to travel and flew in a particular direction, keeping in mind that she should not head to the inner region. She whooshed past many obstructions.
Nevertheless, Law Manifestation Stage undulations spread as the man instantly caught up and blocked her way.
Evelynn timely stopped from physically colliding with him and flew back. She landed on the ground and grit her teeth, no longer having the thought of avoiding because she realized the man"s strength and speed were way above her.
"Why are you running away?" The red-haired man bellowed.
Evelynn coldly replied, "You should know the answer yourself..."
