Chapter 2435 Towards The Aurora Cloud Gate
A figure jumped off a cliff and glided down the mountains, making its way due west.
Floating mountains covered the expanse, and the lands below were cultivated with crops all over the field.
Davis realized that he had been dropped above a mountainside rural area with people cultivating the village lifestyle. However, their auras were immortal. They only glanced at him but didn"t bother with him.
He also ignored them since he did not need to introduce himself to them.
However, he could see that he was already in the Aurora Cloud Gate"s Domain as there were signboards stabbed into the sides of the mountains, possessing many paths.
The river flowing across the lands, gleaming from the sunlight while enriching the value of rich herb gardens with different color variations, was a sight to see.
But, Davis wasn"t in the admiring mood at the moment. His expression had become heavier as he realized that Flamerose could be brainwashed. Yet, he wasn"t able to do anything as making the wrong move would incur Mistress Zahara"s ire, including the Fire Phoenix Clan"s.
However, thinking back, Davis felt that memory alteration wasn"t anything uncommon in the immortal realm.
In the mortal realm, Soul Forging Cultivators could already suppress people"s memories as it happened to Ancestor Tirea Snow as she had forgotten about Ancestor Dian Alstreim. Her memories were also slightly altered but to what end, he wasn"t exactly sure, but he knew that it was possible to achieve more deception in the immortal realm.
"If Flamerose met this fate, then it is likely Frostrose met the same fate as well. Is Frostrose the Clan Mistress that Flamerose spoke about? But... that doesn"t make sense. This is the Fire Phoenix Clan and not the Ice Phoenix Clan..."
Davis couldn"t help but wonder where Frostrose was. After all, how could the Fire Phoenix Clan make an Ice Phoenix their Clan Mistress over Flamerose? That was not possible.
However, if Frostrose was the same as Flamerose and had her name changed, then he could practically confirm that their memories were altered.
"But it doesn"t seem like Flamerose was particularly harmed. In fact, her cultivation base has increased to Level Seven Immortal Beast Stage. But the people around her seemed like they had known her for years, calling her Mistress Zahara. What"s with that? Were their memories altered too?"
Davis couldn"t help but doubt, but at this moment, he felt a soft feeling over his cheeks.
"Big brother, the scenery looks good from here."
Stella Voidfield"s cheerful voice resounded as she looked around. Although Davis wasn"t in the mood to admire the beautiful scenery, Stella Voidfield was like a carefree bird, or rather, a tree that could fly.
She raised her hand, blocking the sun ray"s interference as she eagerly took in the scenery as well as the immortal villagers in the distance, finding them to be a sight to be seen. Everything was new to her. She had only heard about many matters from her mother"s mouth or through books that she would hide in her spatial tree stash.
Now that she had finally come out, she wanted to see the world with her own eyes and did so while holding Davis"s black hair with her other hand.
Davis"s lips couldn"t help but twitch.
"You"re sitting on the Emperor of Death"s head. How will it not feel good?"
"Hehehe! Don"t mind it, big brother. I"m just a tree. By being seated like this, I"m actually giving you shelter from the star"s heat. You should thank me and praise me for my kind heart."
Davis rolled his eyes. She can also be shameless? Or had she quickly learned from him?
However, he could imagine how many people she teased when they came for her fruit. It couldn"t help but put a smile on his complex expression.
But speaking of the star, or rather the sun, Davis couldn"t help but cast a look at it, his eyes frowning from the overwhelming light.
Even after becoming an immortal, he felt the same heat from it. Thinking back, he realized that the heat that the sunlight gave off was always the same, whether he was a First Stage Cultivator or a Ninth Stage Cultivator.
The only star he remembered not affecting him was Earth"s sun. Even if he stood before Earth"s sun, he doubted he would be burned to death in his current state. However, the sun that illuminated the Grand Beginnings Continent and the First Haven World was different.
It was as though it encompa.s.sed all beings and gave them equal treatment as though following a rule.
"Unless the environment worsens or benefits from the light rays..."
Davis deemed before he asked Stella Voidfield, "How"s the sun"s light?"
"Wonderful~ It feels cozy and warm, making me feel rejuvenated."
"So unless the attribute itself doesn"t interfere, the sun will nurture..."
Stella Voidfield wasn"t a yin-natured tree. Otherwise, Davis doubted that she would like the sun. However, just as he was about to take his gaze off the sun"s blinding gaze, he couldn"t help but suddenly become taken aback as he dodged to the side.
"Woah~~~"
Stella Voidfield was taken aback by the sudden movement, hurriedly clasping onto Davis"s head with her hands while tightly holding onto him. However, she saw a burst of sword light piercing through the air, rus.h.i.+ng past her and Davis, but at the same time, it made a turn and shot towards them again.
Its sharp edge seemed to have no intentions to stop as it came piercing towards Davis, whistling sounds echoing throughout the area.
Davis"s gaze narrowed, "Stella, go inside."
"Ah~ Okay..."
Stella Voidfield didn"t disobey as she disappeared into Davis"s life ring. She could not withstand immortal undulations, especially when it had reached a high level.
"How dare you! You dare to kidnap a child?" An enraged female voice echoed out.
"That"s a misunderstanding. I"m taking care of her, and she"s not a child!"
*Whoos.h.!.+~*
Davis moved to the side again as the sword beam rushed past him, but this time, it split into two and targeted him, causing him to flip inwardly. The attacker had no intentions to stop, causing him to harrumph as he unleashed a punch, his fist causing heaven and earth to rumble.
*Bang!~*
The two sword beams were destroyed, leaving behind a wave of smoke that rushed towards Davis. He quickly used his sleeves to wave the remnant immortal energy that seemed capable of harm, rapidly retreating as he did so.
However, he couldn"t help but become astonished because the undulations of this person hidden using the sun"s rays were merely a Level One Immortal, and yet, her prowess was as strong as a Level Six Immortal.
That was a heavenly genius character, if he was not wrong, making him think if she belonged to the Aurora Cloud Gate. However, the next words she said caused him to come to a stop.
"Liar. I know you have Stella Voidfield in your grasp, having taken her away from her home as you destroyed it. If you hadn"t kidnapped her, who did? Hand her over or die!"
Davis"s pupils dilated.
This woman was the person that Stella Voidfield"s mother talked about? The one from her power who would appear to retrieve Stella Voidfield from him?
However, the fact that this woman knew that he had taken Stella Voidfield would also mean that Stella Voidfield"s mother had more or less spread information that he was Davis Alstreim.
He couldn"t help but turn angered at that point as his figure disappeared, his senses locking onto that woman.
