Chapter 5958: A Heaven Ceremony For The Saint

Not to mention a mortal, even an influential cultivator exercised caution and reverence when meeting their ancestor. Mortals weren’t qualified to see her.

Yet, this daoist rudely told their ancestor to kneel to a mortal - something truly outrageous.

Edge Mountain Crone was annoyed and glared at the daoist for this unfunny joke. She would have killed the mortal to make a point if it wasn"t for their friends.h.i.+p.

“You best be apologizing right now or face the wrath of the young n.o.ble, something you cannot handle.” The daoist insisted with a haughty expression.

However, he was secretly winking at her; his eyes gleamed with sincerity. She noticed this and re-a.s.sessed the situation.

She remembered he wasn’t one to make these types of jokes. Why did he bring this mortal to Resting Bull Mountain then?

She thought about his ultimate divining ability and an idea flashed in her mind. All these thoughts occurred in a split second.

While the disciples glared at the unwelcomed duo and couldn’t swallow their anger, she came to the front of the cart and prostrated: “I am Edge Mountain Crone. I apologize for my tardiness in welcoming you, Young n.o.ble. Please forgive me.”

This left the crowd speechless. Li Qiye noticed the daoist’s ploy but still smiled and waved his hand: “Rise.”

“Thank you, Young n.o.ble.” She said, deciding to trust the daoist for once and listening to his ludicrous demand.

Nevertheless, she didn’t come up with a reason why for this development. From what she could see, this man was just a mortal.

She believed the daoist had seen a special vision of the future, hence her decision.

“The young n.o.ble is a saint from above. His very presence is a blessing on Resting Bull Mountain, a token of his generosity and grace. Prepare a grand ceremony to welcome him up the mountain already!” The daoist shouted with an air of authority.

His att.i.tude disgusted the crowd and made them want to kick him, this small-minded man who was gloating for some unknown reason.

The old demon focused on something else - a saint from above. This further bolstered her speculation.

“It is a blessing for our sect indeed. Please, grace us with your presence and climb our mountain.” She kowtowed with utmost respect.

After seeing their ancestor’s actions, the disciples had no choice but to do the same.

“You two are singing the same tune and since I am here, it must be fate, how can I refuse?” Li Qiye smiled and shook his head.

She immediately understood how big this chance was for Resting Bull Mountain.

“The highest ceremony to greet the saint!” Her voice echoed across the mountain.

“A heaven ceremony!” Thousands of disciples were shocked to hear this.

The current sect master, elders, and ordinary students were caught off guard by the sudden command. Nevertheless, they prepared for a heaven ceremony - the highest level of their sect.

Gongs could be heard along with urgent orders. Disciples lined up from the base to the top of the mountain with a red carpet in the center.

All disciples partic.i.p.ated in the welcoming ceremony.

“Young n.o.ble, thank you for gracing Resting Bull with your presence!”

The old demon personally guided Li Qiye up the mountain while everyone else kneeled and chanted.

Despite following the rules, jaws dropped to the ground the moment they saw Li Qiye - a mere mortal.

Other ancient ancestors didn’t enjoy this level of treatment upon visiting. Why was this mortal an exception?

Nevertheless, they followed without question because their ancestor never did anything without reason.

Li Qiye walked up the path with a smile on his face. Once he reached the sect, he scanned the vast mountain range and commented: “It’s been so long that I have forgotten, but I still have recollections of your ancestor, Light.”

“Yes, Young n.o.ble, Light was our ancestor in the immemorial ages.” The old demon said respectfully.

Unlike the rest of the sect members, she had lived long enough to know more about the past of their sect. His first comment mentioned this forgotten ancestor and stirred her emotions.
