Emperor’s Domination

Chapter 6004: Lift It

Chapter 6004: Lift It

“Lift it.” Li Qiye patted the strange statue and smiled.

Sky Step was surprised to hear the comment and despite having questions, he still obeyed.

He lifted it tightly with both hands but it didn’t move at all.

“Activate!” He took a deep breath and channeled all of his power. This didn’t work either.

“Impossible!” He could have lifted a mountain with that much power, let alone this statue.

“Up you go!” He released his vitality, causing muscles and veins to bulge visibly on his face.

“I… I can’t.” He gave up after a long struggle.

He took another look and didn’t find anything special about this stone statue.

“I’ll try.” Minisun became curious and held onto the statue: “Up!”

Sky Step was confident in Minisun’s success only to be proven wrong.

“There’s no way!” Minisun became compet.i.tive and her eyes gleamed with light, releasing her vitality, fate palaces, and dao fruits.

“Rumble!” Her imperial aura swept Sky Step off his feet so he had to crawl on the ground.

“Now!” She roared and the ground shook violently.

Her full power failed to move the statue. It seemed to be one with the earth so to lift it, she had to lift the entire world.

“What…” Sky Step couldn’t believe his eyes. It was one thing for him to fail given his weak cultivation but a seven-fruit Grand Emperor?

“What is this thing?” She finally gave up: “A supreme treasure?”

“Not a supreme treasure, just a memento left behind due to leaving in a hurry.” Li Qiye sighed.

“A memento?” She couldn’t help feeling shaken after vaguely thinking about something.

“Alright, come with me.” Li Qiye patted the statue, causing it to become unstable and on the verge of falling.

“Carry it to Splendor Fortress, it’ll be fun.” Li Qiye told Sky Step.

Sky Step skeptically tried again and strangely enough, he could lift it off the ground this time and placed it on his back.

“This belonged to a supreme existence.” Minisun said what was on her mind.

“It’s rather old, many things were left behind.” Li Qiye smiled.

“The legendary immortal.” Minisun recalled a legend relating to an ultimate war.

“There’s no immortal in this world.” Li Qiye said.

“Must be pretty close to one.” Minisun took a deep breath and responded.

“If that is close to being an immortal, the high heaven would be dead already.” Li Qiye responded.

“There are stronger beings.” Minisun shuddered since she had a clear view of cultivation realms.

Grand Emperors varied drastically in power and above them were Primal Ancestors. The next realm consisted of mythical overlords and then, immortals.

From what Li Qiye said, the “immortal” in the past still had a long way to go.

“The world collapsed because of their fight.” She said with a serious expression.

“Are we talking about Immortals Slaughtered War?” Sky Step became curious since he had limited information on these legends.

“Heavenslay.” Minisun corrected.

“I see.” Sky Step had heard of it before from his master: “I was told the immortal had a disciple, right?”

“Xian Chengtian.” Minisun uttered a name.

“Xian Chengtian, disciple of an immortal.” Sky Step murmured.

This was a renowned cultivator during Dingtian’s era who was known to be an immortal’s disciple. His real name only came out later, potentially chosen by himself. [1]

“I heard he betrayed the immortal.” Sky Step whispered.

“Without this betrayal, the immortal’s secrets wouldn’t have been exposed, leaving them no choice but to leave Three Immortals permanently.” Minisun said.

“Do you know the reason behind the betrayal?” Sky Step asked.

“I don’t know.” Minisun said, only aware of rumors.

Future generations held both curiosity and disdain for the betrayer. After being taught by the immortal, he was on the same level as the legendary Dingtian. [2]

Everyone during that era believed the disciple could compete against Dingtian. None expected the sudden betrayal resulting in the downfall of the immortal.

“How regrettable. Dingtian would have lost for sure without Xian Chengtian’s treachery.” Minisun became emotional.

1. Xian = immortal, Chengtian = becomes the heaven ☜

2. Plurality isn’t explicitly stated here when I say immortal, so I’m using singular. But from the context, we know there are three immortals. There just isn’t enough information yet for me to use three, because we don’t know how many went down in this particular war, so I’m sticking to singular in the narrative ☜
