Chapter 685: There is Always Someone Who Will Brings Sparkle into Your Life

Nothing was frightening about that glare. Her eyes almost seemed misty; they were as beautiful as the clear gaze of an autumnal pool. One look from her made Yue Tingfeng’s heart clench.

He had always thought that he loved Yan Qingsi aplenty. Now he realized that he had so much more to give—and it was all gradually being unearthed by Yan Qingsi. The extent of his love was still yet to reach its full depth.

There was a saying that went: “There is always someone who brings sparkle into your life.”

Yan Qingsi was the person who brought a spark halfway into his life. She was the one who he would live for, for the rest of his life!

Yan Qingsi noticed that Lil Xu was alone. “Where’s Mianmian?” she asked.

Lil Xu carried Ji Mianmian’s purse in his hand. “She went to the bathroom. She’ll come in a moment.”

“We’ll wait for her here then.”

Lil Xu took out Yan Qingsi’s hat, sungla.s.ses and mask. “Sis, wear these first, in case someone recognizes you.”

Yan Qingsi smiled. “I don’t need them. Give them to your boss instead.”

She had never been afraid of the paparazzi, what more being sighted in public. However, it was not good if Yue Tingfeng became the subject of media photos.

The corners of Yue Tingfeng’s mouth twitched. He was about to say something when his phone rang. “It’s from the company. Wait for me.”

Yan Qingsi nodded her head. “Go on.”

Yan Qingsi stood on the second floor of the restaurant, leaning against the balcony as she peered downward. She spotted Ye Shaoguang. “Such a coincidence,” Yan Qingsi said to herself.

A young woman accompanied Ye Shaoguang. She was thin and of average height, probably about five feet three. She had a genteel countenance, a pretty slip of a girl with extremely fair skin. She wore a white altered qipao, a motif of an orchid in powder blue embroidered on the chest area of the white fabric.

From a glance, she looked like a poised, well-mannered and well-liked girl.

Ye Shaoguang was talking with her. There was an air of amicability between the two. When the girl smiled, her eyes were fixated on Ye Shaoguang.

Yan Qingsi tightened her grip on the balcony rail. “Lil Xu, you like Mingming. Why don’t you confess to her?” she asked Lil Xu abruptly.

Lil Xu shook his head, his face flus.h.i.+ng red. “I – I’m not good enough. I always feel that – I’m not good enough for her.”

Lil Xu felt inferior, with his normal household background, normal looks, and a normal job. He could not seem to find a single strength with himself.

Yan Qingsi’s eyes followed Ye Shaoguang and the girl, who took a seat at a table near the window.

“Do you think that I’m good then?” she asked.

Lil Xu nodded his head vigorously. “Of course you’re good. Sister Qingsi, you’re wonderful. Seriously, you’re the best artist I’ve ever seen, and you’re the most honest person I’ve met.”

“Thank you, but… I’m not good enough in other people’s eyes, and sometimes I think that I’m not good enough—I think that I’m not a good match for Yue Tingfeng. I’m like you. We both think that we’re not good enough, that we’re not good enough… for them.”

Lil Xu hurriedly shook his head. “No, no, no. Sis, you’re amazing. Extraordinary, even. Extremely extraordinary.”

Yan Qingsi smiled. “I look at you with the same regard you hold for me. I think that you’re not half bad… You’re good. You’re hardworking, diligent, responsible… determined… You have such excellent traits. Why are you so self-deprecating?”

Lil Xu ducked his head. “I… I’m afraid that I won’t be able to make her happy.”

“But you shouldn’t be afraid. By the time that you’re capable of making her happy, she will probably be taken away already.”

Lil Xu was stunned. Yan Qingsi patted him on the shoulder and took the mask from his hand. She wore it and wheeled around, heading downstairs.

“Sis, where are you going?” Lil Xu asked.

“I’m heading down to see an acquaintance. And cause a scene.”
