Fury Towards The Burning Heaven

Chapter 1218: Tribe’s Saint Emperor

Chapter 1218: Tribe’s Saint Emperor

On the cliff to the south of the tribe encampment, a few DemiG.o.ds were keeping guard. Suddenly, hurried footsteps could be heard from the east; the few DemiG.o.ds were shocked as they hurriedly took out their weapons and swiftly transmitted the message to the rest.

Swis.h.!.+ Swis.h.!.+

The Buddha Emperor and company came running by expecting a powerful enemy. All of them were fully armed and prepared for battle. The footsteps grew louder, and they were indeed heading in this direction frantically. Soon enough, a group of white tigers appeared from the bushes ahead of them. There were men on all the white tigers—well-built, fear-inspiring savages.

“Attack!”

The Yin Emperor saw the savages and instinctively roared. Yin Ruobing, however, shouted out, “It’s Jiang Yi!”

“Uh?”

Many DemiG.o.ds swiftly locked onto one slim figure among the savages. Jiang Yi was sitting behind one of the savages and letting that savage control his battle tiger; no one had noticed him at first glance. Mei Ru was also standing on a white tiger, allowing a savage to control its movements.

“Well done!”

The Buddha Emperor smiled broadly as it seemed like Jiang Yi and Mei Ru had taken control of this group of savages. The Yin Emperor, Night Emperor, and others also silently nodded. Jiang Yi’s move was splendidly executed. Disregarding the savages’ attack strength, these battle tigers themselves were already ferocious and could move like the wind; the few Emperors and DemiG.o.ds would not even be their match.

“What happened?”

The Buddha Emperor’s faint smile swiftly stiffened, noticing Jiang Yi’s expression was quite ugly. Yi Chan waited for Jiang Yi to jump down from the battle tiger before asking hurriedly, “Jiang Yi, what had happened?”

Jiang Yi glanced at everyone present and said, “Based on what these aborigines have said, the Clan Head and others have most probably been captured by this continent’s Saint Emperor.”

“What?”

The Yin Emperor, Night Emperor, and Xuan Emperor were astonished. The Buddha Emperor’s face was extremely serious as he said, “Elaborate more about the situation.”

Jiang Yi indicated for Mei Ru to take over the explanation as he retrieved the Mystic Divine Palace to check on Jiang Xiaonu’s condition. After ascertaining that she was going to be fine, he sent a voice transmission to ask her to rest well. The little fox had also changed into a young la.s.s and had jumped into Jiang Yi’s lap and was looking curiously at the savages, asking, “Big Brother, why aren’t these people clothed?”

“Keke!”

Jiang Yi caressed the young la.s.s’s long and soft hair as he said, “They are savages; this place is very backward.”

On the other hand, Mei Ru had informed the rest of the information she had gathered. The Buddha Emperor was deep in thought for a moment and then asked Mei Ru, “Could you ask them to draw a rough sketch of the Death G.o.d Continent? As well as the realms of the powerful martial artists, of strange beasts, and where the Saint Emperor is based at…?”

Mei Ru looked at Jiang Yi as the latter nodded. Mei Ru then started to converse with the savages. The savages grumbled, muttered, and said many things; the Yin Emperor and company could not understand at all. Yi Chan—however—concentrated, kept quiet, and tried to listen. She was startled as she said, “The language spoken here is actually the Primitive Language? Could the people here have moved here in ancient times?”

“What is the Primitive Language?”

The Xuan Emperor asked curiously as everyone’s gaze turned towards Yi Chan. She explained, “This is the human language used in ancient times. If I have not guessed wrongly, I can even write their script!”

After speaking, Yi Chan held a twig as she started to draw on the ground; it was just like scribbling. She had written a few slanted big characters which Mei Ru then asked one of the savages to identify. That savage looked at Yi Chan as if having seen a ghost and continuously nodded his head; he was indicating that the scribbling was indeed their script.

“These are Primitive letters; it is the script used in ancient times.”

Yi Chan did not feel proud at all. She only calmly a.n.a.lyzed the situation and said, “During ancient times, there must not have been demons in the Black Sea. In those days, the demon race was wreaking havoc among the humans; these humans must have accidentally found this place and moved here. They must have had no contact whatsoever with the outside world since. Thus, they have managed to preserve the script and language used back in ancient times. They probably do not know about cultivation; they must have gotten stronger and stronger physically because of this mystic realm’s endowment of heaven and earth essence force.”

“Nice job!”

Jiang Yi raised his thumb as the Yin Emperor and others started to praise Yi Chan as well. If a woman was beautiful, that would already be a great a.s.set. What was more, Yi Chan was incredibly gifted and intelligent. Now, she had also shown that she was conversant in things past and present. It was no wonder her airs were unique, and she was the number two beauty of the world.

Yi Chan did not care much for the praise of others. Jiang Yi’s commendation, however, made her feel very happy; and she started to blush as she shyly lowered her head. The Buddha Emperor was very content and started to laugh out loud. On the other hand, Mei Ru continued to communicate with the savages as one of them started to draw a map.

Yi Chan took a good look at the map as her brows knitted together, and she said seriously, “This Death G.o.d Continent is actually not considered that big; it should be around the size of the Beastmen Continent. This map is very simple, but from the looks of it, there should be more than a hundred tribes on this continent. In the middle is their Saint Emperor City.”

Mei Ru stopped talking with the savages momentarily as she nodded and said, “That’s right. This man said that there are a hundred and thirty-six tribes. Every tribe has tens of thousands of men. These men are the lowest-tier Brave Warriors. Above them are the Fierce Warriors, followed by the Chieftains, and above all the Saint Emperor. According to them—the Saint Emperor is capable of turning a Chieftain into minced meat with just one punch; he is unrivaled in the entire Death G.o.d Continent.”

Ss, ss…

Everyone sucked in a cold breath of air at the same time. Even the Buddha Emperor could not laugh anymore. If what this savage had said was true, the Buddha Thearch and others had definitely been captured. Furthermore, the Saint Emperor’s powers could not be calculated rationally as well!

Of course, the humans of the tribes here were naturally born with incredible powers and astonis.h.i.+ng defensive abilities. All of them who had entered have also had their powers suppressed by this strange s.p.a.ce. If it was in the outside world, savages like these would not be considered much. At the very least, even Yi Chan would be able to match their speed while Jiang Xiaonu would have no problems whatsoever.

“I have a question.”

Jiang Yi suddenly thought of something else. He said in a low voice, “The Buddha Thearch’s Vajra Scepter and the others’ famed weapons had all been given to the Zi Clan, the s.h.i.+ Clan, and the Ma Clan by the mastermind. Since the Clan Head and the others had been captured, it is natural that their weapons had been taken away. However, the question is, how did these weapons get out? Could it be… the mastermind is actually the Saint Emperor of this place? Or could it be… the Saint Emperor here is an underling for the mastermind?”

Everyone fell silent. Actually, the Buddha Emperor and others had long suspected this; they had just been afraid to voice their opinions out loud. Now, everyone had no choice but to face this fact. No matter what, the people here were definitely connected somehow to the mastermind. If not, the Buddha Thearch and company’s weapons would not have made it back to the East Imperial Continent.

The Buddha Thearch was a nine-star formidable martial artist. He was one of the strongest few in the East Imperial Continent!

He had now become a prisoner, his fate unknown. Everyone was incredibly gloomy and downcast. Among them, Jiang Yi and the Buddha Emperor were the strongest; and yet they were only eight-star martial artists. If even the Buddha Thearch could not triumph, how could they save the Buddha Thearch and the others?

Furthermore, this matter also involved the mastermind. This was a plotter who had demonic wisdom; one person who had made use of everyone in this world, everyone’s strength and power. Could that person have already known that Jiang Yi and company had entered this place? Once the mastermind laid his trap, Jiang Yi and company could only wait for death to come.

“Do not be so pessimistic.”

The Buddha Emperor’s temperament was the best. He begrudged a smile and said, “Who knows, perhaps the mastermind’s underling is just one of the bigger players on this continent; it might not be the Saint Emperor. Since the people here are so backward, that means that they do not have contact with the outside world and have boycotted it. If not, how is it that everyone here is not clothed? We… still have hope.”

The Buddha Emperor’s words made sense. However, the Yin Emperor and company still looked serious and downcast. Jiang Yi was quiet for five minutes, and then he raised his head and said, “Maybe I should infiltrate this tribe first and gather some more accurate information. Without any more information, we cannot do anything.”

“No way!”

Yi Chan shook her head and said, “Jiang Yi, I feel that you should go and cultivate first; you should act when you get even stronger. If not, once you are caught, we will have no hope left.”

“I cannot wait that long…”

Jiang Yi shook his head. The mastermind outside most probably had started to act again. Once he made a move; Ao Lu and the Saint Empress in the Snow Region—as well as the two cities full of people near Heaven Hidden Sect—would be in imminent danger. If they remained here for ten or twenty years—even if they finally managed to leave, everyone would have probably turned into dust.

Jiang Yi’s eyes flashed resolutely as he said, “I will start by learning these people’s tongue and habits and try to understand them more. Five days later, I will infiltrate this tribe; this matter is settled.”
