Chapter 4

Tang Xin Lian very honestly answered. “You’re very handsome and tall, enough to put any man to shame.”

Zhong Zhen Dong smiled. Due to his handsomeness, the one thing he didn’t lack in his life was praises. However, he enjoyed hearing the little white rabbit compliment him because when she said those words, her tone and expression were very honest. It didn’t sound like she was praising him, but more like she was simply stating a fact.

“He’s also very handsome, why didn’t you choose him?” Zhong Zhen Dong asked, pointing a finger at Lin Yu Fan who was sitting beside him.

The little white rabbit quickly glanced over to Lin Yu Fan, and was caught by Yu Fan’s cold and firm gaze. She couldn’t help but shrink back, but still truthfully replied. “That… You looked like you’d be easier to talk to than him…”

“What you mean is, he’s more handsome?”

“That’s not it, the both of you are very handsome. But I would be afraid of him…”

Her confession caused Zhong Zhen Dong to laugh heartily. Indeed, while in the bar, from start to finish, he maintained a smiling expression. When he spoke to other people, he was warm and polite. In contrast, Lin Yu Fan’s face was tense from the moment he entered the bar until he exited. Even just now, he almost scared the woman away.

“It includes food and shelter? Would you really feel at ease with me, a complete stranger, if we lived together under the same roof? Why not find a friend that you’re familiar with?”

No matter what, a male friend that she knew was better than asking a stranger right?

Hearing this, the little white rabbit grinned. “Because we’d have to live under the same roof, that’s why I had to ask you. You aren’t interested in women, so for me, this is the safest option.”

Zhong Zhen Dong raised his eyebrows, so that’s how it is. No wonder she sat at the bar for so long, not hitting on other women nor dressing up. Really such a pity, he wasn’t gay and he didn’t feel like explaining.

“Sorry, I can’t accept your offer.”

“Why? I, I can pay you.”

“The problem isn’t money, but rather I have other things to take of. I’m afraid I won’t be able to coordinate with your plans,” he said apologetically.

Tang Xin Lian was very disappointed upon hearing this, and the hope and brightness in her eyes dimmed. She forced a bitter smile. “Then, alright. Thank you for your time.”

She reached her hand out for the bill, but was stopped by his big hand, which gently covered her own.

“I’ll pay, a gentleman shouldn’t allow a lady to pay.” He smiled as he felt the tenderness of the tiny hand under his. It was smooth and ice-cold, making him really want to knead her hand within his. He couldn’t help but lament, and once again, sigh with pity that she was a lesbian.

Tang Xin Lian hesitated, but accepted it in the end and picked up her bag. Although she was smiling, she couldn’t hide her disappointment. Her sorrowful expression really caused people to feel sorry for, and reluctant to part with, her. Zhong Zhen Dong never liked meddling in other people’s businesses, but he couldn’t help counseling her.

“Actually, you could just tell other people that you’re a lesbian, which would cause the males to give up on you.” Take him for example, this was the reason why he chose to give up.

Tang Xin Lian replied, “Thank you for your suggestion, but I’m not h.o.m.os.e.xual. Sorry to trouble you.”

Before she could turn around, an arm suddenly reached out to hold her firmly, not allowing her to move. She looked quizzically at Zhong Zhen Dong because he was the person gripping onto her.

“You’re not a lesbian?”

“That’s right.”

Zhong Zhen Dong stared at her. This little white rabbit thought that he was gay, and similarly to her, he came to the conclusion that she was a lesbian because she went to the gay bar. Who said that the people who entered a gay bar had to be gay? He wasn’t, and she also turned out to be an exception.

“Excuse me, do you still need something?” Tang Xin Lian asked, puzzled.

A strange light flashed through Zhong Zhen Dong’s eyes, exposing an anxious expression while his voice became gentler.

“I suddenly think that rejecting you this way is really too harsh.”

It was more like he decided to change his decision after discovering that she wasn’t a lesbian. On the side, Lin Yu Fan gave Zhen Dong a disdainful look, but continued to stay silent.

Tang Xin Lian’s hope was reignited. “Really? You’re willing to consider it?”

Zhong Zhen Dong pretended to be bothered and pondered over it. Afterwards, he let out a deep sigh.

“Yes, I’ll do it.”

“That’s great! Thank you! You’re very kind hearted.” She exuded excitement, but after glancing at Lin Yu Fan’s solemn expression, she immediately felt somewhat guilty.

“That… Do you need to talk about it with your lover first?” She carefully asked.

“Don’t worry, he’ll listen to whatever I say. I decide everything, right darling?”

(TN: Darling, my dear, honey, beloved, etc… Take your pick ^~^ )

Zhong Zhen Dong’s hand covered the back of Lin Yu Fan’s hand, giving him a smile full of emotion.

Lin Yu Fan felt disgusted hearing Zhong Zhen Dong call him “darling,” and inwardly shuddered; he had goose b.u.mps. This guy, in order to pick up a woman, pretended to be gay; truly too shameless.

Tang Xin Lian and Zhong Zhen Dong exchanged phone numbers, agreeing to discuss the details, as well as get acquainted with each other, tomorrow. After expressing her grat.i.tude over and over again, she left.

Only after waiting for the little white rabbit to leave, did Zhong Zhen Dong look with satisfaction toward Lin Yu Fan.
