Incurable Pain | Chapter 98.3

Throughout history, countless families have been torn apart because of neglecting their families due to work, and Yu Luoyin has always felt guilty, so he is even more indulgent with Bai Xunyin’s obedience and gentleness.

He kissed her on the head, “Why are you so good?”

Bai Xunyin didn’t answer, she just silently said in her heart.

Because you’re even better.

After so many years of marriage, no one understood better than her how hard Yu Luoyin worked to maintain their family, and she had been silently cooperating all along.

Their marriage was always seen as Yu Luoyin being more dominant in the eyes of others, but in reality, Bai Xunyin was the one who controlled everything.

She tried her best to make him feel ‘secure’, the simplest and most extravagant thing to ask for.

*

Yu Luoyin’s vacation application went smoothly – perhaps because the leaders also felt guilty about him not taking marriage leave for four years.

It was approved very quickly.

With a five-day vacation, Bai Xunyin and Yu Luoyin sent Yu Baiqi to the ancient town on the night before the National Day, amidst the joyful laughter of the child, they exchanged a knowing and guilty look.

Auntie Fang naturally also had seven days of paid leave during the National Day.

The two of them took a flight at nine o’clock in the morning on the first day, and couldn’t stay in the ancient town for even one night before they had to rush back to the city.

Before leaving, Bai Xunyin kissed Yu Baiqi’s little face affectionately and earnestly advised, “Baiqi, you must listen to Grandma and Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma, understand?”

Yu Baiqi nodded obediently, holding onto his grandma’s hand.

“Alright, there’s nothing to worry about with us here.”

Ji Huiying smiled wryly, holding her grandson and urging them, “Go, we’ll send you back before Baiqi starts school.”

This implied that Yu Baiqi would stay for a few more days.

Bai Xunyin reluctantly nodded, and was pulled away by Yu Luoyin with three glances back.

It took more than five hours to get from the ancient town to Linlan, and the two of them didn’t get home until late at night.

Thinking about having to get up early to go to the airport tomorrow, they just washed up casually and went to bed.

In theory, now that there’s no Yu Baiqi and no Aunt Fang, it’s a standard two-person world where, naturally, something should happen, but Bai Xunyin didn’t have the energy for that.

Yu Luoyin finished washing up and returned to bed, seeing the woman sleeping soundly with her back to him, her breathing steady and long, he couldn’t help but sigh with some regret.

He set the alarm clock and, before falling asleep, leaned over to kiss her.

Goodnight kisses are necessary, so in your dreams, it’s all about me.

  1. Honeymoon

Since Yu Luoyin only had a five-day vacation, they didn’t have time to arrange visas and pa.s.sports to go abroad.

They discussed it and decided to take a trip to Xishuangbanna.

Bai Xunyin always believed that if you understand the culture of a nation, you understand the world. Given the chance, she always wanted to travel around the country and experience the ecological environments of various ethnic groups firsthand.

Experiencing it yourself is always better than reading about it in books.

During the National Day holiday, everywhere was crowded, and Xishuangbanna probably couldn’t compete with famous attractions like Disneyland or Jiuzhaigou. But everywhere they went was bustling with people.

Bai Xunyin didn’t want to go to those deliberately embellished tourist spots designed for visitors’ enjoyment. She wanted to explore the real life of the Dai people in their tribes.

So, she did her homework beforehand and contacted a local driver, and she and Yu Luoyin went to the “Shayao Village” far away from the bustling city even at night.

As they drove along, the road became increasingly remote and rugged, accompanied by the myriad stars in the sky after dark.

Yu Luoyin asked in a low voice, “Where are we going exactly?”

Bai Xunyin had been keeping it a secret from him, so she just smiled when he asked, “Are you scared?”

“Huh?”

Yu Luoyin couldn’t help but laugh, “Am I not your strong backing? What’s there to be afraid of?”

She considered him her ‘meat shield,’ leaning casually against him. Her long skirt hiked up slightly, revealing a pair of slender ankles adorned with locally characteristic bead anklets.

The bright red beads complemented Bai Xunyin’s slender legs perfectly.

When they finally arrived at the legendary “Shayao Village,” the two of them entered the village, which was full of ethnic characteristics. Their obvious Han Chinese appearance made them stand out.

Because here, everyone was obviously of Dai ethnicity, with shiny ethnic costumes and lean bodies.

Regardless of gender, they were all slender…

Bai Xunyin restrained her gaze, but a few men carrying firewood couldn’t help but glance at her anklets and exposed toes in sandals.

Yu Luoyin frowned slightly and instinctively stepped in front of her to block their view.

Compared to the crowded tourist spots like Jinghong, Jiangbei, and Gaozhuan, Shayao Village seemed deserted, but there were still visitors like Bai Xunyin who came here deliberately.

However, there were no five-star hotels here; only characteristic lodges resembling lofts.

Bai Xunyin had booked the penthouse stargazing room early on, with the ceiling made of tempered gla.s.s, transparent and s.p.a.cious. Lying on the layered canopy bed, looking up, it felt like being in the wilderness.

At first, Yu Luoyin didn’t understand why she had come all the way here, but it wasn’t until he saw the myriad stars that he realized his wife was much better at enjoying life than he was.

Traveling would be meaningless if they only went to those superficial ‘famous sites.’

As a stargazing enthusiast, Yu Luoyin obviously loved it here. He smiled, looked up at the myriad of stars, held Bai Xunyin’s fingers, and kissed them.

“Thank you.”

Although Bai Xunyin never deliberately sought recognition, Yu Luoyin understood that she had arranged this grand scene for him.

She smiled like a cat, nestling in his arms.

“You’re welcome.”

“You like stars, so I brought you to the place closest to them.”

It felt like they were within reach.

But compared to simply admiring them, it would be a pity not to do something under such a breathtakingly beautiful scenery.

Taking advantage of Bai Xunyin’s distraction, Yu Luoyin quickly grasped her delicate wrist and pressed her beneath him, his breath close.

“Yinyin, we’re on our honeymoon.”

A delayed honeymoon after four years.

But so what?

It was still sweet.

Bai Xunyin was stunned.

“What?”

“On our honeymoon,” Yu Luoyin smiled, kissing her lips with a hint of mint fragrance, vaguely saying, “We should do what honeymooners do.”

At midnight, delicate and fair feet rubbed against the bedsheets.

The red beads on her slender ankles swayed gently.
