Chapter 242.2

“H-Hold it right there!” (Sasha)

Arcana turned around.

Sasha and Misha were there.

“I had a bad feeling about this, and now look what I find! You lewd G.o.ddess! As long as I’m here, I won’t let you do any indecent things!” (Sasha)

“Demon child. This is necessary to regain our memories. It’s not lewd, it’s sacred. It’s not indecent, it’s pure.” (Arcana)

“I know that! But Anos would’ve questioned whether you really thought it was necessary for you two to sleep together to restore your memories! He definitely would’ve said that!” (Sasha)

Sasha’s face was bright red as she rattled off.

“Well, it’s not impossible to do it another way. However, using magic in an improper way would decrease the accuracy and greatly increase the consumption of magic power. There’s no particular reason to avoid sleeping.” (Anos)

Hearing that, Sasha fell silent.

“Don’t make that face. I’m not one to ignore the advice of my subordinates. If you have a problem with it, you can just say so.” (Anos)

“…The problem is…” (Sasha)

Sasha looked down.

“Because…” (Sasha)

Her face turned bright red, and she squeezed out her words in a frail voice.

“Because… I don’t like it…” (Sasha)

“Why?” (Anos)

When Sasha fell silent, seemingly troubled, Misha spoke up instead.

“Sasha is worried about you, Anos.” (Misha)

“Worried that Arcana might do something to me?”

Misha shook her head from side to side.

“Arcana is a good person. But Sasha can’t help being worried.” (Misha)

Well, I could understand her point.

As my subordinate, it was only natural for her to be concerned if anything were to happen to her master.

“In that case, this is perfect. You two can also have the Keeper of Dreams show you the past.” (Anos)

“Huh?” (Sasha)

Sasha looked at me, dumbfounded.

“If you’re worried, then keep watch beside me. And you can watch our dream while you’re at it. If you’re in direct contact with the order of the Keeper of Dreams, you’ll be able to tell if there’s any suspicious activity.” (Anos)

“B-But… That means we’ll be…” (Sasha)

Sasha fidgeted, casting a glance at me as if trying to gauge my intentions.

“Sleeping together?” (Misha)

Misha asked.

“I don’t see any problem with that.” (Anos)

“Y-You don’t…?” (Sasha)

“Do you have a complaint about it?” (Anos)

“I… I don’t, but…” (Sasha)

Sasha looked down, her face bright red.

“Then come. I’ll feel more at ease with you by my side.” (Anos)

“R-really?” (Sasha)

“Yeah.” (Anos)

“I see… If you say so… I guess…” (Sasha)

Sasha nodded, as if trying to gather her thoughts.

“If Anos says so… I-I guess there’s no helping it…” (Sasha)

Even though she walked awkwardly, Sasha made her way to the bed.

Misha followed right behind her, toddling along.

“Um… W-What should we do?” (Sasha)

“Lay down on either side of Anos.” (Arcana)

Following her instruction, Misha sat down lightly on my left and then flopped over.

Sasha came to my right, lying down stiffly.

Misha turned to face me, a soft smile on her face.

“What’s wrong?” (Anos)

“We’re like a family.” (Misha)

“Is that so?” (Anos)

“Nh.” (Misha)

Arcana once again brought her forehead to mine and spoke.

“Without distinction, without boundaries.” (Arcana)

Arcana drew a magic circle around all of us.

Our clothes were enveloped in light.

“W-Wait! Hey! Isn’t this spell going to strip us?!” (Sasha)

“Stop casting anti-magic. I’m just putting our clothes away with storage magic.” (Arcana)

“I-It’s not the clothes I’m worried about! What about a blanket?! Can’t we at least have a blanket?!” (Sasha)

Arcana nodded.

“Warm snow turns into a bed.” (Arcana)

The lunar snowdrops that floated gently in the air made the blanket beneath us glow and transform into a thin sheet. It was then draped over us.

Arcana’s magic continued to activate, and our clothes were taken away by the light, leaving us all completely naked.

Misha blinked a few times, and then the lights went out.

She only lit a small lamp on the wall with her magic.

When I looked at Misha’s face, she whispered in a small voice,

“Don’t look.” (Misha)

She blushed.

It was unusual for the normally composed Misha to be so bashful.

“All right.” (Anos)

I looked up at Arcana, who was above me, but Misha, lying beside me, kept her gaze fixed on me.

On the other hand, Sasha turned away, looking stiff.

“Sasha,” Arcana called out to her.

“W-What?” (Sasha)

“Relax your body. Otherwise, you won’t be able to enter the dream.” (Arcana)

“…Easier said than done… Like this, maybe…?” (Sasha)

Sasha tried to adopt a more natural posture, but the more she tried, the more tense her body became, until she was completely rigid.

“You don’t have to be so nervous.” (Anos)

I reached out and grabbed Sasha’s head, gently turning it towards me.

“Ah… Uh, um… Y-Yes…?” (Sasha)

“Look into my eyes.” (Anos)

She fixed her gaze on mine.

“…Okay…” (Sasha)

“You came here for my sake, didn’t you?” (Anos)

Sasha nodded slightly.

“I’m glad. But there’s no need to be so tense. Just act as you usually do. Nothing will happen anyway, we’ll just be seeing a dream of the past.” (Anos)

“…Okay.” (Sasha)

Sasha said softly, pressing her forehead against my body as if trying to protect me.

There was still some tension left in her, but she seemed to have relaxed quite a bit.

“Is she relaxed enough now?” (Anos)

Arcana nodded and once again rested her forehead against mine.

“The night descends, drawing us into slumber. The drifting memories overlap in dreams, rising to the surface.” (Arcana)

All of our bodies were enveloped in a faint, transparent light.

As I surrendered to the alluring drowsiness, my consciousness slowly faded away.
