Chapter 73: This King Believes You
The Wild World tigers had their way of dealing with this, of course.
However…
After racking her brains for a while, Di Baijun blinked. Behind her, her tail subconsciously twitched a couple of times, and she said seriously, “Mortal tigers will indeed be like that after they break through to the Transformation Realm, but this is solely because they don’t know any better. This is where we must educate them.”
w.a.n.g Hu nodded and said in agreement, “That’s right. Do you know how we should go about teaching them, Baijun?”
In his opinion, as a n.o.ble and honorable existence among the tigers in the past, Silly Girl likely knew how to do it—or at least, she would know a little about it.
True enough, she had mentioned the solution right away—education.
Their views happened to be exactly the same: they had to do some proper education and get them to contribute everything they had to the tiger species and the Tiger King.
Faced with his inquiring gaze, Di Baijun’s eyes unnaturally drifted erratically for a moment, and her tail twitched a couple of times again before she said bossily, “Don’t you know even something like that? Then, what’s the point of having you here?”
A hint of suspicion flashed across w.a.n.g Hu’s eyes. Surely, it couldn’t be that Silly Girl didn’t know how to, right?!
He would never be deceived by her look of forcibly putting on a brave and stubborn front.
Finding it rather funny, he said seriously, “I have no experience with this either. That’s why I don’t know. Haven’t I already come to consult you?”
Di Baijun suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. Behind her, her tail was subconsciously circling round and round. She raised her chin and said bossily, “Think about it yourself. How are you supposed to help me handle matters about the tigers if you can’t even do something simple like this?”
Then, she turned away and walked to the side with her tail circling round and round.
w.a.n.g Hu wanted to laugh as he watched that nimble and adorable tail of hers. That Silly Girl must be feeling sheepish because she didn’t know how to do it.
Honestly, it was fine even if she didn’t. What was there to feel sheepish about?
Yet, she had to insist on pretending that she did.
Never mind, he would stop teasing her and think of something himself instead.
As for Di Baijun who had walked over to another spot nearby, she breathed a small sigh of relief. Then, she curled her lip somewhat and glared at w.a.n.g Hu.
You may be inexperienced with it, you shameless jerk, but that doesn’t mean I have experience with it either.
Simply put, to the Wild World tigers, this was ultimately nothing more than just an issue about mortal tigers. The issue was too distant from her, and on top of that, she hadn’t been very involved with official matters. She naturally wouldn’t know much about it.
These ‘official matters’ included a lot of different things, but she hadn’t needed to bother with any of them at all.
All she had needed to do back then was just cultivate diligently. She only knew that they had to be educated, but she didn’t know exactly how.
Yet, she didn’t want to lose any ground in front of that shameless jerk no matter what.
As she pondered, she couldn’t help but wonder how the Wild World tigers had educated them.
Nothing specific came to mind even after she mused over it for a brief moment. She snorted lightly and decided to stop thinking about it.
She would just let the shameless jerk handle the matter instead. Should he fail to do it, she would just file it away in her memory and settle all the scores with him at one go in the future.
Once she thought of it this way, she even became somewhat happy for some reason.
Back at w.a.n.g Hu, he had already taken over the cell phone and was searching for education methods.
As for Big Treasure and Little Treasure, they could only entertain themselves for a while now.
Fortunately, the two little fellows were obedient and well-behaved. They merely watched their father with their big round eyes as if they were urging him to finish whatever he was doing as quickly as possible.
Ten to twenty minutes later, w.a.n.g Hu returned the cell phone to the two little fellows and walked off to the side to think about things.
This issue wasn’t really that hard to solve, and yet it wasn’t really that easy to solve either.
The key factor was the ident.i.ty of the one saying it.
To put it bluntly, this was a kind of brainwas.h.i.+ng. Letting Silly Girl do it probably wouldn’t yield great results.
If he were the one doing it instead, he was still rather confident of educating a bunch of ill-informed tigers.
However, educating Old Third was one thing, but educating the others was another. He couldn’t possibly educate the other tigers one by one. It was too much of a waste of time and also beneath his status to do so.
Given Old Third’s personality, could he possibly undertake a task as important as this?
He thought about it for a few seconds. Suddenly, a figure entered his peripheral vision.
As though he had a Eureka moment, he looked over at once.
Nearby, Su Ling—who was cultivating immediately—froze. A foreboding feeling surged up within her.
After contemplating for a few seconds, w.a.n.g Hu increasingly felt like he had found a suitable candidate.
That fox might seem cowardly, but she was actually fairly smart. Moreover, foxes were the most skilled at bewitchment and deception. Bluffing a group of big, buff, and silly tigers was definitely no problem for them.
As for the problem of how that group of big, buff, and silly tigers definitely wouldn’t be willing to concede to Su Ling, this was something even easier to resolve.
‘The fox borrows the tiger’s fierceness’ was a famous saying after all.
With him backing her up, was there any tiger out there that would dare to challenge her authority? See if he didn’t teach them a good lesson!
Furthermore, Su Ling ultimately wasn’t a tiger, and so w.a.n.g Hu could more easily mix his own opinions into the ‘education material’. If anything went wrong, he could even make her the scapegoat.
Additionally, she also wouldn’t end up taking away any of his prestige even after she had successfully educated the tigers.
This was practically a move that killed a few birds with one stone. She was the most suitable candidate ever.
As for Old Third, he would just get him to cooperate with Su Ling when the time came and make him the supervisor and disciplinary master for physical punishment.
Yes, that was exactly what he would do.
In that case, the top priority now would be to educate Old Third and Su Ling well.
Or to put it more accurately, it would be to educate Su Ling well and let her try it on Old Third first.
After he made up his mind, he immediately let out a soft roar.
Roar~!
“Come over here, Su Ling.”
A bad feeling immediately came over Su Ling, who had just noticed that someone was eying her, and was currently experiencing a surge of forebodingness. She wished incredibly hard that she could reject the command to go over.
Unfortunately, her limbs simply refused to listen to her own commands, and she walked over obediently.
“Is something the matter, my lord?” asked Su Ling carefully.
She was still speaking Mandarin.
Di Baijun also cast a furtive glance at them at this point. Her eyes flickered with small hints of evaluation.
w.a.n.g Hu, who had a clear conscience, thought for a moment before he also spoke directly in Mandarin. Using Blood Qi reverberation waves to verbalize Mandarin actually wasn’t anything difficult. He usually didn’t have the chance to use it—that was all.
“The reason why I asked you over is that I have an important task to entrust to you. I hope you won’t let me down.”
His imposing tone of voice made Su Ling’s reluctance to undertake the task turn into something else when she spoke. She said, “Yes, my lord. Su Ling will definitely strive to do her utmost best to complete my lord’s orders even in death, come h.e.l.l or high water.”
Then, the expression on her face turned into one that somewhat looked as if she wanted to cry, and she looked at w.a.n.g Hu pitifully.
“Yeah.” As though he didn’t notice anything, w.a.n.g Hu nodded in satisfaction and said dispa.s.sionately, “The tigers have always had the habit of going about by themselves and hold no concept of unity as a community. This remains the same even after they’ve gained human intelligence. Therefore, they need education—strong and effective education—to correct their undesirable thoughts.
“We must let them understand the power of unity and make them feel a sense of glory in striving for the better good of tigers. They must understand that they, having been born as tigers, must contribute toward the tiger species’ progress and development. This is their G.o.d-given mission.
“At the same time, they must also pledge allegiance and swear devotion to the Tiger King and obey the Tiger King’s every command…”
Nearby, Di Baijun found everything he said fine until she heard the last part. A strange feeling couldn’t help but well up within her.
Wasn’t the shameless jerk the current Tiger King?
Swearing devotion to him…
She felt uncomfortable for a moment before she suppressed the feeling. Swearing devotion to the Tiger King was the right thing to do. The Wild World tigers were also taught to swear devotion to the Paragon of Tigers. It was the same thing.
However, was he intending to entrust such an important mission to Su Ling?
Di Baijun’s brows drew together. A sense of distrust grew within her.
w.a.n.g Hu paused for a moment. Then, his voice became incredibly stern. He said, “This matter in relation to education concerns the tigers’ future. It is the most important task. Now, I shall entrust this mission to you. You must see it done properly.”
Di Baijun’s brows were already tightly locked together at this point while Su Ling herself was also rather stupefied.
To think he was entrusting such an important task to her and telling her to educate a bunch of big burly tigers!
The terrifying scene of a bunch of big burly tigers splitting up and eating her weak and frail body among themselves involuntarily surfaced in her mind. Even her limbs were starting to turn into jelly.
After a moment of stupefaction, she said as though she was about to cry, “M-My lord, I’m willing to do it, but I’m afraid I can’t do it well!”
“What’s there that you won’t be able to do well? I believe in you,” said w.a.n.g Hu definitively, his voice full of trust.
A gloomy-looking Su Ling nevertheless asked fearfully, “I-In that case, surely, they won’t eat me, right? My lord?”
w.a.n.g Hu glared at her. With an overflowing sense of might and dominance, he said imposingly, “With me around, who would dare to?”
Su Ling trembled all over and gained a little peace of mind, though she felt as if his words were seemingly also directed at her.
“Don’t worry. With me backing you up, no one can hurt you. Summon up a bit of courage. How are you going to educate the tigers on my behalf when you look so timid and cowardly?” said a rather dissatisfied w.a.n.g Hu as he frowned.
Su Ling subconsciously raised her head, puffed out her chest, and answered, “Yes.”
“Alright. What you’ll be teaching them is roughly whatever that I said just now. You can go online and look it up further and add more relevant content.
“Prepare a proposal and let me have a look first, so that I can provide some guidance,” said w.a.n.g Hu in a tone that brooked no dispute. Then, he gave her a look and dismissed her.
Su Ling’s heart trembled. She wanted to cry, and yet she also didn’t dare to.
She could only make an aggrieved sound of agreement before she turned around and went off to think about it.
w.a.n.g Hu really was very confident about this, though. With him backing her up, it didn’t matter even if Su Ling didn’t perform particularly well. He could just look for another talented tiger to do it again at that time.
He took a few steps and went over to Silly Girl. Then, he said with a smile, “What do you think of me entrusting this matter to Su Ling, Baijun?”
“Hmph, this is an important matter that concerns us tigers, and yet you’re actually entrusting it to her?” Di Baijun had a frown on her face and was clearly dissatisfied.
w.a.n.g Hu, who had expected this a long time ago, said unhurriedly, “Don’t underestimate that fox, Baijun. When it comes to bewitching, she’s definitely stronger than us.”
“Bewitchment?” Di Baijun raised an eyebrow.
“Hehe, it’s just a figure of speech. In any case, the intention is to get the tigers to change their old way of thinking.
“Besides, she has us backing her up so why don’t we let her give it a go first? It’s not a big problem even if it fails,” said a smiling w.a.n.g Hu.
Di Baijun thought about it. She had no reason to reject it again because she didn’t know how to educate them either.
Had she known… hah.
“We’ll let her give it a go first, then,” said Di Baijun somewhat reluctantly in the end anyway.
w.a.n.g Hu nodded. Then, he changed the subject and said, “Baijun, Old Third has already gained human intelligence. He needs a proper name. Let’s give him a name.”
