2413 Huo Siqian’s Stress (4)
Qin Chu bent down and picked up the broken hair clips… and for the first time in his life, he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
Then, he left the country for seven years…
Their relations.h.i.+p back in the day was like a shot of whiskey – a fierce start with a bitter aftertaste.
Years later, Huo Mian would still regret what she did back in high school, and the way she destroyed her favorite present from Qin Chu.
So how could she not burst into tears upon seeing the pair of rose hair clips? This present meant so much to both of them.
“Honey, where did you get this? Back then, I…” Huo Mian stopped before she finished her sentence. Did Qin Chu get someone to make a new pair? But they didn’t look new…
Was this the pair she smashed onto the ground all those years ago?
As expected, Qin Chu nodded. “I picked them up after you left and they’ve been with me all this time… last time, I glued the roses back together… They’re not perfect, but they’re irreplaceable.”
Huo Mian carefully took out the pair of hair clips and gently stroked them… Tears continued to fall down her face.
“Don’t cry, we should be happy.” Qin Chu got up and wiped away Huo Mian’s tears with a tissue.
Yes, we should be happy. Honey, did you know that out of all the presents you’ve given me, this is my favorite one?” Huo Mian’s voice was trembling as she looked up at Qin Chu.
“I do,” Mr. Qin replied gently.
“Do you know why they’re my favorite?” Huo Mian asked.
“Because I bought them with the money I made from tutoring piano for a day. I didn’t use my parents’ money.” Qin Chu seemed to know Huo Mian very well.
Emotional, Huo Mian grabbed Qin Chu by the arm and nodded her head furiously. “Yes, you’re such a proud man but you wanted to buy a present for me with your own money and was even willing to be a piano teacher… Do you know what I was thinking when you told me about this?’
Qin Chu smiled but didn’t answer. Instead, he reached out and gently stroked Huo Mian’s long hair.
“I thought, this was a man who was willing to put away his pride to love me… I had to treasure him for the rest of my life,” Huo Mian said, tears once again bursting out of her eyes.
“Woah, is Dr. Huo confessing her love for me?” Qin Chu asked jokingly.
Thank you for giving me another chance to see them… I thought I’d never find them again…” Huo Mian sobbed as she leaned into Qin Chu’s embrace.
“Don’t cry… come on, let me put the hair clips on you…” Qin Chu carefully wiped away her tears and slowly placed the hairclips on her hair.
Huo Mian stroked the clips like they were priceless treasures…
“I told you that you’d be happy.” Qin Chu smiled from the bottom of his heart.
You’re right, they’re still my favorite, even after all these years…” Huo Mian said as she stood up and hugged Qin Chu tightly. Then, she kissed him.
