Prince, You Are So Cheap

Chapter 6

Here’s a picture of a steamed bun, because this scene didn’t happen quite the same as in its manga.

When Zhu WuXin dizzily woke up again, she understood one thing.
The maidservant who went to call for the doctor, has slipped away.

This Miss she is being as, has too much sufferings.
At first, she thought the tight slap would wake the maidservant up.
Who knows, that servant actually completely ignored her.

Her stomach is now singing ‘Empty Fort Strategy’.[1]

Zhu WuXin have no choice, she can only gather some energy to push herself up and went out to look for food.
Her head feels heavy, like a resisting head of an iron hammer.[2]
Her body feels hot, then cold the next moment, it was unbearable.

Other than that, in this Court that she is currently living, her room is a side room.[3]
When she gripped the pillars at the hallway, and the window sills for support, looking at her hands full of dust, she really doubt if there is really anyone living here.

Fortunately, Heaven didn’t make it more difficult for her.
After seven or eight turns and detours, she finally found the kitchen.
Stumbling around the kitchen for half of the day, she found nothing with the exception of a few hardened steamed buns.

Deep in the night, there’s only the call of the cicada echoing in the quiet mansion.
The cold wind blew, caused her to shiver. Taking the steamed buns with her, WuXin pulled herself smaller into the deepest corner of the kitchen.

People don’t care about her, then just let it be.
But even when it’s meal time, n.o.body came to call her.
Zhu WuXin finally understood why the owner of the body was this skin-covered bone skinny.

This kind of ghost place is simply not meant to be lived in.
Ancient version of Cinderella also don’t have this.

The steamed bun in her mouth was so hard, it knocked at her teeth.
Zhu WuXin suddenly felt the urge to cry.
What kind of sin has she ever committed to have the Heaven torturing her like this?

Suddenly, a loud roar was heard from the door.
“Who is it? Come out immediately! If not, this old woman[4] will chop you!”
“Ate bear’s heart and leopard’s gall[5], dare to come to Zhu House to steal things!”

Zhu WuXin was startled by this sudden voice, caused the steamed bun to roll down to the floor.
A bit heartbroken, she picked up the bun, patted the dust of it and promptly stood up.
“It’s me, Zhu WuXin. Don’t get so worked up.”

“Ya, why it’s Fourth Miss here ah!”
The kitchen’s old lady put away the kitchen knife in her hand to stick on the chopping board.
At the same time, she grabbed the steamed bun from Zhu WuXin’s hand and threw it out.

“Miss, the bun cannot eat anymore.”

Zhu WuXin stared at the food that she managed to find with great difficulty, now gone. She wanted to chase after it but the kitchen lady pulled her back.

Her eyes looked a little bit misty, “Miss, please wait for a moment. I will cook for you right away.”

Zhu WuXin nodded a bit, she simply doesn’t have any strength left to move about.
Now, she can only trust the kitchen lady’s word that she will cook food for her.

The kitchen lady while cooking, said “Miss, if there’s a chance, quickly leave this Zhu House ba.”

Dizzily, WuXin replied with an “En”.[6]

“WuXin, why are you here?”

A clear male voice suddenly rang out.

Lifting her eyelids, Zhu WuXin tried to see who just came.
In front of her are rays of brilliant yellow light.

[1] : 空城計 – Idiom, meaning n.o.body left behind to guard the house, a bluff. It just means her stomach is growling.

[2] : 抗一鐵鎯頭 – 鐵鎯頭 means the head of an iron hammer, not sure why the author put 抗一 there, which means protest or resist.

[3] : 偏房 – I don’t have enough knowledge about their architecture to understand what is a side room, my guess is it’s smaller than usual room size, and mostly for personal maidservants to live.

[4] : 老娘 – Literally translated as ‘Old mother’, it’s how some old common womenfolk address themselves

[5] : 吃了雄心豹子膽 – Idiom, meaning have outrageous courage

[6] : En is similar to our Yeah/Yes/Okay

Translator note :
I will try to translate all the keywords to English for better understanding. For example : ‘Yuan’ will be translated as Court.

But some keywords will not be translated and will be just written out as it was, because the translation would sound weird. For example : ‘Nubi’/’Nucai’ is how the servants addressed themselves when talking to their master or anyone with higher ranks. It kind of means ‘This lowly one’ or ‘Slave’ so it doesn’t feel nice to write in English.

All in all, I will only translate the keywords which are possible and leave those sounded terrible in English by themselves.
Thank you for reading this. Have a nice day~!
