Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams

Chapter 403

Since they delayed the examination, Lyn did some side studying for awhile. Returning after what happened with Allen to the manor made Lyn feel restless. So she had to keep her mind occupied.

"Well... That, I used that formula a little while ago...…" Lyn deeply sighed. As she dropped her pen, all of these problems are due tomorrow. That math teacher gave us difficult problems. It"s not as though she couldn"t solve them. Because this is something, she could solve rather quickly. But only if she used her natural ability.

Yes, what she"s finding difficult now is how to solve this the normal way. It"s a complicated problem after all….how do people with regular levels get this kind of question wrong? The brunette sighs, she supposed this is her fault for missing all those days now. To think she would suddenly start regretting it.

Her thoughts broke of hearing a voice mumble in her ear, "Hmm...What is this?..."

The source of the voice belonged to none other than Rhys. Lyn couldn"t hide her shock seeing him. What on earth is he doing here? Or rather Lyn has not seen him in so long, so she felt a bit overwhelmed.

"Wahh, Rhys?!!"

"You"re so noisy. That loud voice..." Rhys said, in his usual monotone, as he let"s out a small yawn. After what happened earlier, Lyn didn"t know what to think. However, he is speaking to her, usually right now...

"Anyone would be surprised if they weren"t aware of someone behind them!"

Usually, that"s the case. But between her and Rhys, there is a "connection."

So him sneaking up from behind her is impossible. They"re connected with each other, that"s why….she should have noticed. As she thought, something really must have happened after the battle.

"Since you were groaning and further distorting your ugly face, I wanted to do something," Rhys commented.

Hey !!! How can he say something so cruel lightly… She looked away from him then, "I"m busy with these problems. So if you have something you want to do here then please hurry up," Lyn sighed. Forget it, there is no use getting worked up. Isn"t it fine to brush him aside for now?

"Oh, really. I came here because I wanted to sleep."

"Wanted to sleep? Please sleep in your room.."

"I don"t want to. My room is a mess now."

Lyn looked at him skeptically, thinking he was lying until she recalled what the General had told her about renovating the room plans — but not being able to start due to the mess. A deep sigh crossed her lips; she hasn"t dealt with this person in so long.

Still, even if his room is a mess. Why does he have to sleep here in her study? Lyn glanced over at him questioningly, what is he up to now?

Well, she supposed she was grateful for being saved and all. But hurting someone in the middle of the streets like that is a problem isn"t it? Three days have pa.s.sed, though, and it doesn"t seem as though it"s been reported. So it should be okay…. Still, Lyn wondered why Rhys got that angry in the first place?

After a few minutes, Lyn managed to solve a few of the complicated questions in the simplest way possible. Until she came at a halt with another one.

"Well, this problem here," Lyn trailed off. Even if she self-studied all these years, it doesn"t change the fact that she has not attended a school properly before. So Lyn didn"t know what to do about this situation at all.

Ah...Come to think of it, Rhys is older right? He is a senior technically ...she wondered if she should mention it or no, referring to the problem. It won"t do any harm in trying. Going to Allen at a time like this would be useful, but he would straight up tell her, "Answer it by your own ability. Alright, let"s go ahead and try. The brunette made her decision, as she stood up and left her table. Lyn walked over her way over to the bed with the book in her hands.

"Uhm… .Rhys...?" Lyn called out. However, he wouldn"t budge an inch. She crouched down and stared at him for a few moments. He looks exhausted. Lyn knew that Rhys was working very hard on the front lines at the moment. But, she didn"t think he would end up this exhausted. Lyn reached over and caressed his cheeks.

"Rhys," Lyn muttered softly. How come it"s like this? This person, she wondered exactly what he means to her. It"s not like she dislikes him, but does she actually want to return his feelings? With all the events happening lately, Lyn didn"t want to add to the complications. Things are already complicated enough.

Adding something superficial like love into the mix is too much.

After a few seconds, he stirred awake. Rhys looked at her blankly; her hand was still on his cheeks. "Ugh...what..." he trails off, looking over at her. "You sat down on the bed...are you trying to attack me?"

Lyn hid the blush on her cheeks, "This problem, I was wondering if you understood it. It"s a little hard. Can you teach me?" Lyn sincerely asked him. However, a teasing smile appeared on Rhys face.

Rhys glances over at the page, "I don"t want to."

Well, of course, she expected that sort of response. He is that kind of person, after all. Still, isn"t he supposed to like her or something? Why does he act like a jerk still?

Lyn thought he would change his personality more on this matter. It seems like that"s impossible, huh? "You study so much these days that you don"t remember how to seduce a man. The way the world is, can"t you pa.s.s easily?"

He was probably trying to get to her with his teasing.

But Lyn was stressed out; she doesn"t have time to deal with this kind of thing right now."…I understand. Forget it…," Lyn turned back to her studies. If she can"t even solve simple problems like this, how can she take the throne? Lyn tapped her pen against the sheet in front of her again.
