Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams

Chapter 170

A Mansion

The last place Lyn expected for their mentor to ask her to come to was that guy"s mansion. A deep sigh escaped her lips, "This isn"t good," Lyn thought to herself. While that person told her that she could drop by anytime while she was still here. Lyn resolved herself not to come here anymore. It should be okay, right? It should be fine?

No sooner had Lyn thought that Kazuya, and her stepped into the clearing. Upon recognizing her, the guards immediately let her inside, but Lyn noticed the scowl directed towards Kazuya. Thankfully Kazuya didn"t realize, and they quickly headed inside. They had only been walking around for a few minutes when Lyn spotted him with her mentor. The two men were discussing something in detail in the garden area.

Aaahhh! She can"t avoid it. Maybe she ought to have told Kazuya beforehand? But Lyn was worried about what he would think. It"s not like it was a "relations.h.i.+p" or anything. However, Lyn supposed they weren"t friends. The two of them, they didn"t have any particular word to define their relations.h.i.+p. Besides with her situation, she seldom saw him.

Lyn met him in town; his name was Zenith; he was a lively boy whom she met during those rare times she could go out. Normally Pupillam and the General would accompany her to town, but during that time where a regular soldier had to come with her. During that time, it was easy to slip away from him. All she had to do was act natural and pretend this happened all the time. Normally there would be restrictions whenever she went out. But what that guard didn"t know wouldn"t hurt him.

However, it was expected, she stood out. Even with her cloak, she still stood out. People didn"t call out to her, nor did they try to converse with her. Instead, the ones interested decided to kidnap her directly. She was almost sold off when that person came. Prince Zenith, when he saved her, he was wearing regular garments. So Lyn didn"t know at first. But later on, they met at one of the parties her family often hosted. From that point onwards, the two of them met up quite a bit. Or rather, because of her circ.u.mstances, he frequently went to the castle. Once in a while during her one-day market trip, Prince Zenith would take her to his place.

Of course, when Pupillam and the General came along with her, she had to explain the circ.u.mstances. Naturally they were suspicious, and on guard, however, they allowed her to keep going to his place. It was unheard of a female with a fiancé to keep going to another man"s home.

At first, the servants in Zenith"s household were cautious, they didn"t know who she was, but Pupillam a.s.sured them that nothing was going on since she had a fiance. It was clear that Pupillam did not want to tell too many details. But she didn"t want anybody thinking that she had bad intentions.

Those days that she spent with him were a lot of fun. But afterward, Lyn met Zenith"s brother, and things went downhill from that point onwards. Just recalling it made her shudder, Lyn shook her head. Don"t think about it now, besides, in the end, nothing happened.

"Prince Ralph," Kazuya called out.

Her mentor turned around, "Ah, welcome Princess Lyn, Sir Kazuya."

Zenith turned around then, their gaze met. For a split second, his eyes brightened with the same childish innocence like it did when she came to see him. But they immediately dimmed when they saw Kazuya, "Princess Lyn, and your companion. Please join us."

Her sweat fell, uh oh. She knew that tone. When she came to see him, Zenith didn"t ask her anything regarding Kazuya though. The entire time Lyn kept thinking to herself, surely he would ask. But Zenith didn"t say a word, however now looking at his reaction, Lyn understood why. He was purposely dodging the topic.

Now? It seems like Zenith"s reaction towards Kazuya is hostile after all. Lyn took a deep breath, "This is my boyfriend," Lyn clung to Kazuya"s arm. Since it"s like this, she might as well, "Kazuya."

"..."

"My, my," Ralph winked, "Is this a meeting of the former lover?"

"Former ?" Kazuya looked over at her.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

Lyn shook her head, "It"s not like that!"

"We weren"t like that!" Zenith exclaimed at the same time as her.

Wahhh, they said it at the same time. Her mentor chuckles, "Your still perfectly in sync."

Lyn felt Kazuya"s expression beside her turn glum, and she held his arm tighter. Lyn didn"t say a word, but she continued holding onto him.

Kazuya"s gaze softened, and he gently kissed her forehead, "I"m Kazuya"s boyfriend. The current amba.s.sador, nice to meet you, Prince...?"

"Zenith."

"King Layton"s brother?"

At that comment, a deep sigh escaped Zenith"s lips as he nodded, "Yeah, I"m the younger brother," Zenith trailed off, "You"re very well informed."

...

What an awkward situation. But, Lyn looked at the room where Kazuya and mentor were. Mentor told her to stay here, and even Kazuya agreed. What could those two possibly be talking about in there? She"s a tad bit curious.

"So, that"s the guy from the rumors?"

Lyn flinched, "Uhh, you see.."

Zenith looked annoyed, but he continued, "I already knew when you came to see me... And well, people here keep rubbing it in my face and all. "You"ve been replaced," or "this one is different since she publicly announced it,""

Her sweat fell at those words, "Um, I"m very sorry," Lyn apologized, "It seems like you"re having a very hard time because of me."

"Don"t mind it too much. Rather, don"t apologize! I get it, you know?" Zenith exclaimed, "I was the one at fault. I should have told you that my brother planned to use you."

"Nothing happened in the end, I didn"t get hurt, and Eldest brother Andrew settled everything."

"I never meant to harm you, and my feelings for you were real."

"Zenith.."

"Aaargh," Zenith yelled and slumped to the ground.

"Are you okay?"

He reached over and grabbed hold of her hand, "Let me borrow this."

"Um?"

Zenith took a deep breath, "Sit down, let"s talk for a bit. The other day I was too nervous since I hadn"t seen you in a year."

Lyn sat down beside him and looked towards the door, "You should let go before Kazuya comes out, he can be a bit protective."

"It seems like you really like him."

Does she? Sometimes it"s hard to say, no, that"s not it. Lyn understood it better than anyone, far better than Kazuya himself. She loves him, a great deal. Lyn wondered, since when did she start feeling this way towards him? Not even acts of affection from Allen can move her heart now.

Allen"s behavior towards her is strange, and a part of her feels like that Allen"s feelings towards her have changed. But the reason why Lyn didn"t dwell on it too much was Kazuya, "because she"s always thinking of Kazuya, everything else is just....," Lyn paused. Ah, this feeling again. What would you call it?
