Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams

Chapter 472

*UNEDITED*

"I didn"t lie Rhys. I"ve never lied with you."

That"s right, she has never lied whenever it came to him. But the current Rhys most likely won"t understand what she is trying to say. "Should we go to sleep? It"s getting late."

Rhys paused. "I want to talk with you for awhile longer."

"Talk?"

His lips curve to a smile. "Yeah, let"s talk."

Her gaze softened at his words. It seems like something has changed between them.

...

She just wanted to be loved by someone.

To feel wanted and to feel full.

The empty and hollow feeling in her heart, she wanted it to disappear.

Lyn didn"t realize she had so much to drink. When Rhys suddenly started to mess with her, she didn"t resist as much. It was the alcohol in her body doing the talking. But it didn"t take long for Rhys to take advantage of the moment.

"So if he has the chance he will do it?"

She didn"t know exactly. But for the past few minutes Rhys kept doing odd things to her. Kissing her neck line, her chest and now he is between her legs.

Lyn ran her hands through his hair and Rhys looked up from between her legs. "You okay?"

"It"s snowing."

"Is that so?" Rhys squeezed their interwinded fingers. "Focus on me Lyn."

Lyn nodded and she focused on him. The heat that creeped up on her legs made her feel embarra.s.sed. She wanted to close her legs but Rhys wouldn"t let her do that. It feels so wrong and yet it erases that empty feeling.

"Rhys, do you like me?"

"I like you."

That"s right, this person likes her. Otherwise why would he do such things with her?

"Rhys." She didn"t want to call out to him and look dumb and needy. But, she felt so very strange.

"Hmm?"

"Rhys, I…"

"I like you too." But, she couldn"t say that. Not only did he turn her down before. Rhys always avoids asking how she felt. It"s almost as though he doesn"t want to hear it. Besides how could she possibly tell him that she liked him?

....

Main Castle XX

Alchol and her are a bad match.

After yesterday"s events Lyn has learned her lesson. When she woke up this morning, she felt so embarra.s.sed. Thankfully Rhys already left, otherwise she wouldn"t be able to face him. Pupillam said to meet her in this spot but so far Lyn saw no sign of her aide.

She felt very uncomfortable because everybody walking by stared at her. Is it that strange? She is the Second Princess, she has every right to walk around the castle. This uncomfortable feeling however breaks when she felt a piercing gaze on her. Lyn looked towards the source and saw Rhys.

"Rhy--"

Rhys backed her against the wall and brushed his lips against her ear. "So? Why do you keep running from me?"

"I"m not…"

"You"ve been avoiding me since last night."

"I…"

"Regret it?" Rhys muttered.

It"s not like they did it or anything, so why does she feel so weird? She shook her head. It is stupid avoiding him, Lyn looked at him with an apologetic look and mumbled. "Sorry."

He brushed his forehead across her own. "If you feel unwell today, tell me. I will be around."

"Work?"

Rhys nodded. "Yeah. So, if your body hurts today say so."

Her cheeks flushed slightly when she realized what he meant. "Don"t make it sound so misleading."

"I can"t?"

"You can." Lyn looked down.

Rhys however cupped her cheeks. "Don"t look away. Mmm, your red though so I understand why."

He isn"t teasing her as much as she thought he would. Lyn looked up, "Will you be busy?"

"I will be around. I have a few things to attend to in the main castle today, so you will see me."

"A few things?"

"Dealing with what you call those pathetic excuse of n.o.bles."

Ah, she heard something about that. Didn"t the General say some important people will arrive in the castle today?

"So, before I go." Rhys grabbed hold of her hand and leaned forward. "Do something for me."

Lyn didn"t have to ask and pressed her lips against his. Unlike last night it wasn"t as pa.s.sionate. It was clumsy since she still felt strange. But Rhys didn"t mind and silently led her.

"--lyn! Princess Lyn!" A familiar voice called out.

She spotted auburn coloured hair approaching from the corner. Rhys pulled back and traced her lips. "d.a.m.n, bad timing. I guess I should leave before she lectures me."

"Rhys."

He brushed his lips against her earlobe and bite it. "Don"t miss me too much."

With those words said he quickly left. By the time Pupillam came over, she could no longer see him.

"There you are Princess!"

"Pupillam."

"Princess Lyn you have so much work to do and Prince Allen is waiting for you."

"I see." She didn"t say much and glanced at the spot where Rhys was moments ago. She wonders why that man has so much confidence. "He looked cheerful. Is it because of last night?"

.....

Main Castle West Wing

"Didn"t you say Allen was here?"

Pupillam looked around puzzled. "That"s what I heard."

Lyn sighed and shook her head. "Forget it, could you get me more ink?" she pointed to the table. "There is only one pot there."

"Right of course."

When Pupillam left the room, she turned to the desk filled with paperwork. Not just the desk but the stacks right beside it. The entire room filled with stacks of paperwork. "I guess it can"t be helped."

Allen has taught her how to do most of these, so she ought to be okay. Lyn took out the first batch and sighed. "Tax forms." The people in the Wind Kingdom must be very fussy about these things. She doesn"t hear anything about this in the Mist Kingdom.

What is the right amount to tax the people? Lyn sighed. "Troublesome.."

Most of this paperwork is from the Wind Kingdom. She didn"t have to do any of it. But as his fiance she ought to do this stuff.

Her thoughts went back to last night quickly and she glanced over at the window. "I wonder if I can see him from here." Lyn didn"t expect to see him so when she spotted Rhys speaking with a group of soldiers, she stopped. She brought the chair closer to the window.

He has that serious expression on his face again.

Lyn probably made it too obvious that she was staring, since somebody whispered in Rhys ear. He glanced up and his lips curved to a smile.

He seemed busy, but Lyn already knew. She slowly opened the balcony window and in that second Rhys leaped up. He brought his lips to her ear, "Missed me already?"

"A little."

"Hmmm."

It wasn"t a lie, she missed him slightly. Rhys wrapped his arms around her waist, "Is there a bed here?"

"A couch."

"That should do." He picked her up and brought her over to the red velvet couch.

She reached out and brushed the leaves away from his hair. "Was it windy?"

"Yeah."

Rhys is a man of little words. But it isn"t awkward when he doesn"t say much. It is easier to talk to him than most people. There are no awkward silences like when she speaks with Allen.

She felt the breeze blow across the room and she shuddered. Her legs suddenly felt cold since Rhys lifted her dress up. He placed kisses on her stomach.

"Rhys, shouldn"t you get going?"

"It"s not a problem. I can spare ten minutes."
