Chapter 601: Seeing Yu Rong at the Hospital

Chi Shuyan first went to see Yu Rong, who was seriously injured and had just woken up. In the hospital ward, Yu Rong lay on the bed with a pale face, looking like she was on the verge of death.

Seeing that Chi Shuyan had come, Yu Rong was very excited. She propped herself up and was about to get out of bed, but Chi Shuyan pressed her down and told her to get some rest. Although she didn’t have any fatal injuries, she had lost too much blood and had some minor injuries. It was best that she didn’t get agitated.

“Master Chi!” Yu Rong was still very excited.

Chi Shuyan saw that although Yu Rong’s complexion wasn’t great, she should be fine. The black cadaveric qi on her forehead had disappeared, leaving behind only a bit of back luck, which wasn’t a big problem. She just had to rest up.

Ordinary people didn’t like bad luck. Thinking this, Chi Shuyan told Yu Rong that she should carry on her the Protection Talisman which she had bought from Chi Shuyan before after she was discharged from the hospital, to get rid of the bad luck. Of course, this bad luck wasn’t a big deal; at most, she would be unlucky for a while.

Yu Rong now completely trusted Master Chi. Hearing her words, she immediately said, “Master Chi, I understand. I’ll definitely carry the talismans with me.”

Yu Rong decided that even if her bad luck disappeared in the future, she would always carry the talismans which Master Chi had given her. Yu Rong was very glad that she had bought a lot of talismans from Master Chi back then.

Hearing Yu Rong’s words, Chi Shuyan nodded.

Yu Rong suddenly said, “Master Chi, my injuries were actually all caused by that woman, Zhou Manning. She wanted to kill me!” As she spoke, Yu Rong roughly recounted what happened that day; she was still a little traumatized by it.

The thought of that woman, Zhou Manning, going to her house and stabbing her like a lunatic with a dagger scared Yu Rong witless.

Fortunately, that woman had been sentenced and the truth had come out.

Everyone knew that Zhou Manning had gone crazy and killed her own sister to replace her. Although Yu Rong had just woken up, she also knew about it.

She also knew how Zhou Manning had killed Manqing and sealed her alive with cement in the wall. When she accidentally read the news report, she was so scared that she broke out in a cold sweat. Only then did she realize that she had underestimated how mad Zhou Manning was.

She thought about how she had always been by the side of such a deranged Zhou Manning all these years, and how Zhou Manning had even asked her over to her villa for a drink a few days ago.

Yu Rong still had lingering fears when she thought about it. At that moment, she was incomparably glad that she had met this Master Chi. Otherwise, she might have been the second corpse sealed inside the wall.

Thinking of this possibility, the chill in Yu Rong’s heart spread to her limbs and bones, and her heart pounded with fear.

Chi Shuyan patted her shoulder when she saw Yu Rong’s face turn paler and more terrified. It seemed she wasn’t free of the hurt which Zhou Manning had caused her. She said, “Those who survive a catastrophe will have good fortune in the future. It’s fine. I see that your calamity has pa.s.sed. Your life will be smooth sailing from now on!”

As soon as Chi Shuyan finished speaking, Yu Rong choked with abrupt emotion and cried. She cried over how she had survived a calamity, and how Manqing had met a tragic end at the hands of her own ungrateful sister.

Yu Rong raised her eyes and said, “Master Chi, Manqing, will Manqing live well in her next life?”

Chi Shuyan thought of Zhou Manqing and frowned slightly. She nodded and said, “She’ll be fine!”

Although Yu Rong wasn’t fatally injured, she was still hurt and had just woken up. Seeing that Yu Rong didn’t even have the strength to speak, Chi Shuyan told her to rest and not to think too much.

“Thank you, Master Chi!” Yu Rong nodded weakly and gratefully.
