Chapter 1151 First Trial Part 4
The man behind the desk sighed. He also felt this way, but he did not have the power to investigate clearly. But this girl… "My name is Helden. I am the Captain of the guards. What you said is true. It is also felt by many. While some embrace it." Helden looked over at the man at his side.
The man at the side s.h.i.+vered slightly. Kana looked over at him and asked: "Why is it that you attacked first without asking any questions?"
"I was just following the laws that were pa.s.sed down." The man replied. He did not seem to think he did anything wrong. But the cold stare from his captain and the young lizard girl who crushed his sword made him s.h.i.+ver slightly.
"So, without a word, you uphold the laws? Did you not think that the laws were funny? Like, why did the policy change so much without an instigation from the outside?" Kana asked with a raised brow.
"Even if that is the case, the law is the law. But to be honest, I believe humans should be wiped out." The man answered honestly.
"I see. So, who do you follow orders from? Since it does not seem to be Captain Helden here." Kana"s question made the man flinch. It was subtle, but Kana caught it.
"Of course, I follow Captain…. What are you doing!?" The man yelled out when Kana suddenly appeared in front of him and grabbed his head.
"You are very loyal. If I crush your head, will your master mourn your death?" Kana asked as she squeezed the man"s head slightly. She was already mad that someone attacked her family. Even if this was a trial and none of this was real, it still angered her.
"I…. I was told to kill any human I saw. That was what the man in the shadows told me. He knew I hated humans. He knew everything about me. Even my family. He said as long as I do what he said, he would not only give me extra money every month, but he would keep my family safe after the revolution is over." The man quickly spilled everything. His loyalty did not stem from his family or the man he talked about. It stemmed from his own greed and selfishness. He would give up his own family if it meant he could keep his life.
"This man, what did he look like?" Kana asked.
"I do not know. Really, I don"t. He was always in the shadows. I think he used some kind of spell to block his appearance. I only know he was at least about my age and of high cla.s.s." The man replied. Kana snorted and let him go. She then looked at Helden, who did not need her to say anything, before standing up, taking out a pair of metal cuffs, and putting them on the man. "It seems you really know how to dig yourself in. You were my closest aide, but now…. I wonder just how deep the rabbit hole goes." Helden could only sigh. He sat the man down in the corner of the room and cast a double barrier around him. One to keep him from escaping and another to keep him from hearing anything outside the barrier.
Helden then walked over to Tilia and bowed his head. "I am sorry. I should have acted quicker."
"It"s okay." Tilia quickly moved behind Ceilie. She was slightly nervous around Helden. He was a big man with a scar over his eye. He was part of the wolf clan.
Helden did not get offended by her actions. After all, it was just a little girl. "Miss Kana, what do you plan to do?"
"For now, I would like to find a safe house for my friends. Then, I will head directly into the castle and pull the old man from his dungeon." Kana had already sent out her divine sense. She spread it around the entire capital until she found the king sitting in a cell in the dungeon. She planned to rescue him and then try to pull the rabbit out of its hole.
"You found the king!?" Helden was shocked.
"Yes. So find me a safe house, a place where no one would suspect the king to be." Kana wanted the safest location possible.
"My house." Helden suddenly said. "No one would expect me to bring him to my house. I also have a defensive barrier around the entire house. It"s the second safest place in the entire capital."
"Then we will go there. I will also put up an even better barrier as well. My friends will be in your care. If anything happens to them…." Kana paused but did not finish her sentence. Helden felt a chill run down his spine. He would need to be sure to protect this young girl"s friends no matter what!
"Umm Kana… what is going on!?" Ceilie finally could no longer hold back. She had been quiet this entire time, but the more she heard and saw, the more confused she was.
"Big Sister, just trust me. We will go to Helden"s house, and then you and Tilia will stay there. I will then go and bring the king back. Once I do that, we can finally sit down and really figure out what is going on." Kana explained lightly.
"That is not what I mean! I mean, why can you do all these things!?" Ceilie asked. She felt exhausted, trying to comprehend everything that was happening.
"I will explain later. Now is not the time." Kana replied. "For now, let"s just say I am a little woman."
Ceilie"s eyes went wide as she gritted her teeth. "That d.a.m.n pervert! I will kill him!"
"Huh? There is no time for killing. We need to go." Kana replied as she grabbed Ceilie"s hand and then Tilia"s and asked Helden: "Where is your house?"
" On Baker St," Helden replied.
"Okay." Kana flicked her finger, and a portal opened up. She then kicked Helden through it before jumping through it herself. As for the man still stuck inside the barrier. She forgot about him.
