Chapter 621 - A Dragon!?
"Hiccup…" Kana"s cheeks were a rosy red as she sipped the wine in her hand. She was leaning against Liu Na, who was also drunk. The two girls had been sitting in silence for a while now. The main reason for this was because Liu Na kept trying to hug Kana earlier and ended up being kicked. Liu Na was currently reflecting on her actions. Kana didn"t blame her for it, though, as she had done crazy things when she got drunk before as well. Finally unable to take the silence anymore, Kana spoke first: "Nana, don"t worry about it. These things happen…"
"Mmm… I don"t even know what came over me…" Liu Na answered softly while blus.h.i.+ng. She had been drunk before, but monkey wine was beneficial to her cultivation so she had no choice but to get drunk if she wanted its benefits. Just thinking about the things she did and said caused her entire head to turn red with embarra.s.sment.
Earlier…
"Kana, I wub you! Hic!" Liu Na jumped at Kana with her arms wide open only to receive a foot to the face causing her to land face first onto the ground.
"No twouch! Hiccup!" Kana drunkenly gazed at Lui Na. She did not like the look in Liu Na"s eyes. But she also knew Lui Na was drunk, so she did not take it to heart. She also found it slightly amusing that the normally quiet girl was acting in such an outspoken manner.
"Boo!" Liu Na yelled out as she got up off the ground. She staggered a few steps before jumping at Kana once more. "Just one kwiss! Chuuuu! Muwfa!"
She got the kiss she wanted, just not with Kana"s lips but the bottom of Kana"s foot. After a few back and forth, Liu Na started to come back to her senses and went completely silent, leading up to the point that they were at now.
"It"s fine," Kana Said with a smile as she b.u.mped heads with Liu Na. Right now, she could feel her entire body changing. It was growing stronger by the second. Even her meridians were expanding, allowing the flow of spiritual qi to rush in like a raging river.
"Kana, I need to cultivate." Liu Na announced suddenly before going right into a cultivative state. She was experiencing the same kind of results as Kana was. She did not wish to lose this chance to really make full use of the medical properties in the monkey wine.
Kana did not say anything so that she would not disturb Liu Na. Instead, she took out one of the rank two cores she had gotten. It was a red one. Since this one was as big as a fist, she could not just eat it like candy like the cores from before. She brought it to her mouth and took a big bite. When she felt a familiar warmth flowing down her throat, she smiled brightly and quickly finished the rest of the red core. She could feel the spiritual energy flowing through her newly widened meridians. Everywhere it went, it infused into her body more and more before rus.h.i.+ng to her beast core and being absorbed by it.
In a matter of seconds, Kana"s body began to heat up. The fire element inside the core was very strong. This was normal as this was a rank two beast core that was much denser and condensed with fire elements and spiritual qi. Kana could feel a familiar warmth welling up in her body. The cold ground around her began to also warm up. Liu Na, who was next to Kana, was benefiting from this warmth as it made her feel more comfortable and relaxed.
The two girls cultivated until nightfall. Liu Na was the first to open her eyes. She stretched her arms and looked over at Kana, only to freeze. Coming from Kana"s mouth were small flames every time she breathed out. Instinctively she scooted away from Kana out of fear of catching on fire. But when she did, she realized that there was a big temperature difference between being next to Kana and being away from her! So much so that she quickly scooted back next to Kana for the warmth.
About twenty minutes later, Kana opened her eyes and smiled brightly. She had not made any breakthroughs in her cultivation, but she was at least able to get her fire element back. Not only that, she grew much stronger than she was before. She felt if she met a rock lion now, she would not suffer any injuries at all.
"Kana…. Flames…" Liu Na said when she saw Kana open her eyes.
"Mm… I got my dragon breath back." Kana replied with a smile. She rained in the flames that were coming out of her mouth and felt a nice warm pit in the stomach where her flames were being stored. She also felt much warmer now, so she stripped back down to her normal robes. "Nana, you can use these if you want. Also, I can start fires with ease now as well."
While she still couldn"t use magic, she was able to tap into the fire element around her enough to use her dragon breath. Although not in a destructive sense, it would be enough to keep her body warm and light some fires and, if needed, be an emergency distraction. She could only guess that this would be temporary for the time being. She did hope that in the future that she would be able to unlock more and more elements and maybe even gain new elements as well.
"Wait, you"re a dragon!?" Liu Na asked in surprise. She had always thought Kana was some kind of winged lizard but not an actual dragon since she could not spit fire when she first showed herself!
"I told you that when we first met!? You didn"t believe me!?" Kana felt like her world was cras.h.i.+ng down! She had said she was a dragon from the very start, but it seemed no one believed her! She felt depressed. Her G.o.dly dragon form was not helping her at all.
"I… I thought you were just trying to be cool… I mean you did a cute pose and everything when we first met…"
