Chapter 821: The Battle At The Riverside Part 1
Kana"s expression darkened. "Where are they appearing from?"
"A river near where you said you found the pillar before. There seemed to have been some kind of seal at the bottom of the river. Now chaos beings are flowing out of the seal by the thousands." The old man felt at a loss. Chaos beings were even hard for him to handle in those numbers. They are mindless creatures that only know how to consume. "Also… These beings seem to be part of a greater ent.i.ty."
This was the bigger issue. If the origin of the chaos beings were to fully break through the seal and escape its confines, then even he would be at a loss of what to do. With him and the G.o.d of destruction combined, he would not be able to overcome such odds. Chaos was the beginning of everything as far as he knew and could consume everything as well. Both destruction and creation were born from chaos and would return to chaos. Only beings of the void of oblivion could probably fight on par with chaos.
"So what are we to do? You"re much more powerful than me, and yet you lost an arm and suffered heavy injuries." Kana was worried. She had once made friends with the human faced fish there. If it was the river that she was thinking of, then she had to try to help the human faced fish.
"This…. We have to try to contain it somehow, or else this world and every universe will be consumed by chaos." The old man answered, but his voice wavered as if he was unsure of how to deal with the situation.
"How far have they spread out? What if we fought beings who consumed energy with beings that consumed energy?" Kana asked. Now that Kana got her powers back, she now also had access to the darklings that she had sealed away. An army of literal darkness that could consume any and all things was fully under her command.
"This…. If it is possible then…." The old man began thinking before nodding his head. "If you can fight fire with fire, then it is worth a try."
"Then it shall be done." As Kana"s words fell, a large ma.s.s of blackness formed behind her. It was like a gate opening up to the deepest darkest abyss ever seen. And from within that ma.s.s of blackness were millions of darklings, all staring out into the world of light. In an instant, the entire area around Kana was filled with these darklings, and all the cultivators who were surrounded by them felt cold chills running down their spines. They wanted to know just what kind of existence was this young woman to be able to have legions of giant eyeb.a.l.l.s and dark creatures that one would have nightmares over.
The old man"s eyebrow twitched seeing this ma.s.sive army under Kana"s command. He really wondered when she got such an army. But this was also good because he could feel them slowly sucking in the spiritual qi from the air but were careful not to do so to the people around them. A ma.s.sive army under Kana"s control would be very beneficial to her later on. That is, if they do not all die under the hands of the chaos beings.
"Oh? They multiplied…." Kana pursed her lips. She never remembered having this many. After shrugging her shoulders, not wanting to think about it, she looked at the old man. "What do these chaos beings look like?"
"Oh! They look like this." The old man waved his hand, and a black being similar to her darklings appeared, but these ones had sharp looking claws and rows of razor sharp teeth. Without even giving a command, Kana"s darklings suddenly pounced on it and began eating the darkling as if it was a rare treasure. "This!?"
Even the old man was surprised by this. The darklings were consuming the chaos beings with relish. Kana looked at what was happening and nodded her head in approval. "Go find all the beings that are like this and eat to your heart"s content. " Although normally there was no way of knowing if they were happy or not, but when Kana petted the head of one of them, the people who saw could have sworn it had a tail that was wagging back and forth crazily.
In just a matter of seconds, the ma.s.s of darklings all dispersed and went to seek out the chaos being. They knew where to start looking due to Kana sending them all a mental image of the river and its general location. Once they ran off, Kana stood there and looked at the old man with her arms crossed across her chest. "Care to explain why you were able to capture one of them like this but could not stop the rest?"
"That one took a while to capture and seemed to be very weak. But I was hurt at the same time by the pillar." The old man tried to explain, but Kana still sneered as she grabbed the old man and tore a hole in s.p.a.ce. "You will come with me. We need to go look at that river."
"Huh? Oh, right!" The old man hurriedly answered as he let Kana pull him along through the tear in s.p.a.ce.
When Kana arrived high up in the sky above the river, what she saw surprised her, even the old man was surprised looking down at the scene in front of him. Not only had her darklings arrived before her and were currently attacking the ma.s.s of chaos beings who were coming out of the river, but there was also a sea of human faced fish battling the chaos beings as well. What was strange was that they were easily standing their ground.
"What are heavenly void fish doing here!?" The old man cried out. He did not understand why a species only found in the void of oblivion was here on this world. But when he thought about the seal he suddenly realized that maybe someone from the void of oblivion decided to stick a troublesome enemy here in his domain. With this thought in mind the old man"s face turned black.
