At that moment, the phone beeped. As expected, Ira messaged him,-Where are you?-
Vivan flung it on the table and picked the gla.s.s of beer, gulping it casually.
Let her get stressed for him. A smirk of victory appeared on his face. For her, he postponed a meeting with the plan of taking her out of town. Who would have thought she made plans with her friend?
He won"t back off.
After three rings, I will answer.
His thoughts were contradictory.
Unfortunately, in the next few minutes, the phone did not make a sound.
His friends mused over his skeptical behavior. Vivan had been staring at the phone for a long while, neither willing to pick up or call her.
What does this man want?
He engaged himself in drinking shots one after the other. But at the back of his mind, it worried him. Why didn"t she call? Did something happen to her?
"You should call her. If you don"t, the girl on the other side will start crying " Daksh grinned. That woman is trouble, and this man is a lost cause. He wished Vivan to find a woman who wholeheartedly loved him. Nothing entered her eyes except for her career. What did he even see in her to get married in a jiff?
This guy is whipped. He used to be funny, cool, and fun to be around, but nowadays as his relations.h.i.+p wears on, they see him less and less. He is a shadow of the man he used to be.
Vivan nodded. Even when he smiled, he could not hide the worry in his eyes.
What if she has an emergency?
He regretted not picking up the phone. No, he still won"t be the one to call. I should leave a reply. He typed the message
- I am with friends-
His finger above the send b.u.t.ton, he hesitated to press.
At that moment, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller Id "Mom."
"Yes." He picked up.
"Where are you? What"s the background music? Are you in the bar? It is almost midnight. And you a pregnant woman alone? Why don"t you pick up her call?" Tara yelled releasing a series of question in a stern voice.
Vivan frowned, Did she complain to my mom?
"Mom, I am with my friends. Call you later," he replied and switched off the phone. At least he got a confirmation that nothing happened to her.
Imagine if this man comes to know that his wife had planned to dump him on Valentines...
Vivan"s cold voice sent a shudder to those who heard it. He picked up the gla.s.s and gulped it in one breath.
"Let"s drink." Daksh tapped his fingers on the table. Vivan poured another gla.s.s and drank it.
He looked at his friends who were partying, but his heart won"t calm down.
By the end of the night, he was dead drunk.
"John, how long would you stay single? It"s time." Vivan laughed.
"You got a girl. I don"t I am still alone." John replied.
"You.... find someone and get married. But who would marry you?"
"Why wouldn"t I find a wife? But if married men are like you, I am better off staying alone." he chuckled.
"Yes, your future wife will be better off alone as well than being tied to you." his eyes held a trace of pity as he shook his head.
"You..."John clenched his fist and stood up. His face was red as a tomato.
"You both don"t fight." Daksh held John "He"s drunk."
The drunk Vivan stood up all of sudden and yelled,
"Hey I want to go home. My dear wife is waiting for me."
"She will be worried."
Is this the same man who was angry with his wife a while ago?
