Rise From The Doom

Chapter 5

Liu Wei An stopped in his tracks. Something was not right.

Outside of the tomb, a group of rotten corpses were wandering. They were crying out in a high and deep voice. It was a very scary sound.

Didn"t these fellows only sleep when no one dared to provoke them? Liu Wei An carefully approached, there were about 30 rotten corpses wandering aimlessly, and the air was filled with a strong smell of dead bodies. Although he had taken the corpse core and the smell was no longer harmful to him, he still felt uncomfortable.

It was too smelly.

Forty meters, thirty meters! Liu Wei An suddenly stopped walking. A rotten corpse turned its head and stared at him. The rotten half of its face looked blurry. Liu Wei An let out a whimper as he rushed towards Liu Wei An. The moment this rotting corpse moved, the other rotting corpses also started to run.

Liu Wei"an cursed in his heart, turned around and ran, one or two was fine, but dozens of them rushed over at the same time, there was no chance of winning at all. These carrion corpses seemed to have increased their senses during the night, and during the day, their senses were within 15 meters, now it was almost doubled.

The footsteps behind him were getting stronger and stronger. Liu Wei An was startled. Not only did his sensing ability increase, even his speed increased. He took a deep breath. He knew that the more dangerous the situation was, the more he couldn"t panic. The terrain of the valley was relaxed. There were no trees and no ditches. If he wanted to stop the rotting corpse, he could only rely on himself.

He tried to sense the distance between him and the rotting corpse, but the Iron Yang Wooden Bow had already arrived in his hands. An arrow was placed on the bow, and under the blood-colored moonlight, the nail of the rotting corpse reflected a bewitching red light.

Five meters, three meters.

Liu Wei An stopped, turned around, and shot an arrow like a full moon. The arrow made a sharp whistling sound as it pierced the rotten corpse"s neck and flew into the night sky.

He missed!

Liu Wei An was on the verge of tears. His hearing was simply too terrible. At this time, it was too late to run anymore. He crouched down like a toad and jumped again and again to avoid the attack from the rotting corpse.

"Woosh ~ ~ ~"

The arrow was shot from the second carrion"s eye socket. The rotten corpse fell to the ground. Liu Wei An escaped through the gap, but he could only sigh in his heart. The night was hazy, and his relationship was poor, affecting his accuracy. His arrow was aimed at the middle of his forehead.

After running for ten meters, he suddenly turned around. As the bowstring trembled, the arrow shot out like a bolt of lightning. This arrow gathered all the power in his body and was especially fierce.

"Woosh ~ ~ ~"

Blood spurted out from between the eyes of the rotten corpse that was two meters away. The arrow shot through between its eyebrows and came out from the back of its head. The rotten corpse did not make a sound as it fell to the ground and was killed instantly.

Liu Wei An"s heart was filled with joy. This was the first time he had killed a monster in months. It was crisp and clean, as if he was cutting through dried weeds. It felt really good.

Five or six Corrupt Corpses surrounded him, frightening him so much that he felt like he was lying down. A cold light flashed as five claw marks appeared on his back. Blood gushed out and the Corrupt Corpse immediately became furious, letting out a long whimpering sound.

The surroundings were full of rotten corpses. Liu Wei An didn"t even have a chance to retreat. He clenched his teeth and a sharp light flashed in his eyes. He continuously drew his bow in the s.p.a.ce of less than two meters.

Om, Om, Om.

Three arrows, one hit empty air and one shot wrong. Only one arrow had hit the eye socket but the rotten corpse didn"t fall down because of insufficient strength.

Blood splattered, claws swept past his ears, and cut off his shoulder. Liu Wei An held his breath as he remained motionless like a statue. The veins on his body bulged as he pulled on the bowstring, releasing his grip at the moment the rotting corpse pounced on him.

The arrow flashed like a bolt of lightning, leaving a trail of blood as it pierced the head of the rotten corpse. More than half of the arrow appeared at the back of its head. The power of the arrow was evident.

The moment the Corrupt Corpse fell, Liu Wei An made a move and threw the bow out, grabbed the Corrupt Corpse"s body and placed it on his back. He crawled rapidly close to the ground, only to see a series of crackling sounds, blood and chunks of flesh flying everywhere, the surrounding attacks of the Corrupt Corpses all gave this Corrupt Corpse a lot of pleasure, the black, stinky, cool and even maggots seemed to be squirming on Liu Wei An"s back. Liu Wei An endured the nausea and closed his mouth, quickly climbing out of the encirclement, and throwing the corpse behind him.

Although only one arrow had hit the target, it had hit the eye socket instead of the middle of the forehead.

Liu Wei An knew that this wouldn"t do. Although the lighting wasn"t good in the dark, and the carrion was faster, the more important reason was still due to him being careless. He was in a fl.u.s.tered and agitated mood, which greatly reduced his accuracy.

The moaning sound of the rotting corpse retreated like the tide. The string of the bow vibrated, but Liu Wei"an"s action was nowhere to be seen. Three meters away, a rotting corpse fell on its back with an arrow between its eyebrows.

The Corrupt Corpse had already moved in a roundabout way, and Liu Wei An sprinted out from the slanted plane at a hundred meters" speed. There were constantly attacks coming from the corpses, and each one was a little bit different.

Under normal circ.u.mstances, these carrion corpses would not come here, but now that they were stimulated by the blood, these carrion corpses cried out loud, as they had already forgotten the limits of their territory.

Touching his back, there were only four remaining. Liu Wei An"s heart skipped a beat. Just now, he was so happy that he forgot to count the number of arrows fired. Suddenly, he envied those experts who could kill two birds with one stone.

His clothes and body were the least rotten he had ever seen. Half of his face was rotten, and only one eye was staring at him. Under the reflection of the dark night, the red light was especially frightening.

There was a tiger in front and a wolf in the back. The two sides couldn"t get out, so Liu Wei An had no choice but to attack and fire at the front. He was quite confident in his ability to do so as he stared at the corpse"s forehead and took a long breath.

The arrow shot out like a meteor. With a swish, it hit the corpse in the forehead without a hitch. The arrow penetrated in by an inch before stopping. As the rotting corpse jumped, the arrow shot out and fell to the ground.

What was going on?

His whole body flew out of the encirclement and fell on the ground six meters away. His right foot was in so much pain that it almost broke into pieces. As he was rolling on the ground, he saw the arrow that dropped on the ground and finally understood the reason why he didn"t kill the Corrupt Corpse.

This arrow was an arrow without the fingernails of a rotting corpse or the bones of a beast. Although the iron birch was hard, it couldn"t be compared to the nails and bones of a rotting corpse. Naturally, it couldn"t pierce through the head of a rotting corpse.

Liu Wei An was full of remorse. When meeting a rotten corpse, he had forgotten everything. Knowing yourself and knowing your enemy, knowing how to win hundreds of battles was not a simple thing to say, but it wasn"t easy at all.

Regret only lasted for a second. He knelt down on one leg and stared at the incoming rotten corpse. His bow was drawn to the full moon. He aimed and shot the arrow.

"Whiz!"

A rotting corpse fell, but it didn"t die, it only hit the eye socket.

"Whiz!"

The second rotting corpse fell. It was still shot from the eye socket. As long as it pierced the eye socket, the rotting corpse would lose its ability to move. The back of the eye socket seemed to be where the action center of the rotting corpse was.

The fall of the two rotting corpses had an effect on the carrion corpses behind him. Liu Wei An turned around and ran, but the pain in his leg was too much for him to notice. He was less than 20 meters away from the cemetery, so he couldn"t care less.

Fifteen meters, ten meters, five meters … He could clearly smell the smell of the Corrupt Corpse. It was strong and stinky. The Corrupt Corpse was less than one meter away from him. Without any hesitation, he used all his strength to leap into the air, twisting his body in mid-air and landing his back on the ground. Then, he nocked the last arrow on the bow.

This arrow had carrion nails and was as sharp as knives.

"Whiz!"

A cold light flashed. The rotten corpse that was at the front of the group suddenly shook. The arrow pierced through the forehead and fell onto the ground. The rotten corpse"s speed was slowed down and a slight chaos happened.

Liu Wei"an landed on the ground at the same time. Enduring the dizziness, he climbed a few steps and arrived in front of a huge leaf. This leaf was shaped like a lotus and had a diameter of 1.5 meters. It was huge and filled with water.

Liu Wei An poured some water on himself. In the cold night, he was instantly drenched by the water. Liu Wei An couldn"t help but shudder, the water covering the smell of blood on his body.

This place was already out of the cemetery"s range. The moment the smell of blood disappeared, the Corrupt Corpse"s violent mood returned to normal. After hesitating for a moment, it began to return to the tomb one after another. After a short while, all of them had left.

Liu Wei An lay on the ground. It took him a full five to six minutes to get up. He was sore all over, but at the same time, he felt extremely relieved. The water in the leaves was naturally his own doing. He had been here for more than a week, and there was nothing to eat, just water every day.

He limped over to the decomposed corpse that had been killed and took out the arrow. In just a few minutes, the arrow had been completely decayed. This corpse poison was truly tyrannical. Luckily, his nails were still fine. He dug out the white crystal from his fingernail and ate it.

A wave of energy spread to his four limbs and meridians. The coldness in his body disappeared, and his wounds began to heal. The pain in his legs had also receded.

The white crystal was too magical.

A total of nine Corrupt Corpses were shot, four of them were instantly killed and five of them were shot in the eye sockets. Liu Wei An quietly disposed of all the rotting corpses on the outside. His brain had been opened, his stomach had been torn, and a few white crystals had been swallowed. His energy that was almost depleted was once again replenished.

He did not dare to go over, nor did he want to give up. He could only lie on the ground and wait. After waiting for more than two hours, the blood moon fell to the west and the corpses finally returned to the deeper parts of the tomb.

Liu Wei An was now full of energy. It only took him two minutes to finish off the Corrupt Corpse. He ate all the white crystals and got nine meat bags. They were all copper coins, a total of 121 of them.

Liu Wei An was very disappointed. He didn"t have any gold coins, so he might as well pay a few silver coins. He took off all the nails and got 90 of them. When he saw this big bag of nails, he was happy again. Now, he didn"t have to worry about the arrow"s piercing power anymore.

After two trips back and forth, he finally managed to drag all the corpses to Stone City. Although the corpses were more than half rotten and didn"t weigh as much as normal people, they were still quite heavy. Fortunately, after devouring the nine white crystals, his strength increased tremendously. Otherwise, he would have to go back and forth four times. Even so, it was only at daybreak that everything was settled, and he happily logged off with nine silver coins.
