Hue Chi sat back down on his chair. His eyes shifted slightly at the small video on the bottom right of his computer screen. He saw of what seemed like an encouragement from the girl who raised her water bottle to cheer her team, and everyone responded with a smile and lift up their water bottle to cheer. Hue Chi causally looked over at the two men standing in front of him and replied, "I"m not sure if I can make it. I"ll have someone send a message later."With that answer, neither the king nor General Va Tong could rebuked. He is leaving the answer up in the air by not declining them but also not agreeing at the same. Knowing his son, the King knew that the chance of his son joining dinner may be less than attending. Not wanting to cause a scene in public, the King decided to not say anything further.
Prince Hue Chi did not want to give the King and the General an answer as he already knew what they are up to. He wanted to give them the impression that he is busy with work and attending the dinner would depend on how much work he has left at the end of the day, though he knew his father could guess what he was planning. However, he understood that his father would not act out in front of the General so he took the opportunity to decline the invitation subtly.
General Va Tong understood that the Prince have a lot of work and does not want to imposed on the Prince, "Mm.. It"s alright if you are not able to come. I know you are busy." He turned to the King and added, "Let"s head to the training ground, My Lord."
The Prince looked at this father and the General heading out of his office. His eyes shifted down to the bottom right corner of his computer screen. His vision unconsciously darted back to find the high spirited girl who"s smile could melt the glaciers, who"s eyes is as calm as the starry skies. She radiated a magnetic aura that seems to pull those around towards her.
Several hours later in the late afternoon, the Dark Prince left Royal Corporate Square. As he was walking out to his car, he hesitated and then took out his phone to dial Butler Zeu. When Butler Zeu answered on the other line, the Dark Prince slowly opened his mouth and said, "Tell the Queen I am busy and will not be able to attend dinner." He wanted to send the message to the Queen first before she calls him, which then will be tiresome declining his mother Queen.
Long Kue followed the Dark Prince carrying a tote box full of works. The driver popped the trunk opened when he saw the Prince coming towards the car. Long Kue walked to the trunk and put the tote in the back while the driver opened the door for the Prince to get in. After closing the trunk, Long Kue helped himself to the front pa.s.senger side and buckled up. The driver glanced over to the pa.s.senger side after he got inside the car. Before he could asked where they would like to go, Long Kue replied, "To Skyline Cruise at Aqua Illusion Construction Site."
Back at the Main Royal Palace, Kao Sheng and her mother are in the main living room with the Queen chatting as they wait for the chefs to cook their dinner. Soon, a maid walked in and whispered to the Queen, "Butler Zeu just called saying the Prince is tied up with work and will not be able to join for dinner." The Queen frowned slightly as the news was relayed to her.
Kao Sheng and her mother could guess from the Queen"s facial expression that the Prince is not coming. It would be a disappointment if her guess is right. She rarely ever get to see the Prince and the last time was the first time that she gets to see him two days in a row which has never happened. If she is lucky, she might be able to see him once every couple months because he sometimes visit the Military training ground.
"Your Highness, is something wrong?" Kao Sheng probed even though she already guessed what was wrong.
The Queen sighed and shook her head slightly disappointed, "Hue Chi is tied up with work and unable to attend tonight"s dinner."
"Your Highness, Prince Hue Chi is busy with a few projects going on around the country at the same time. The country is important to him, please understand." Kao Sheng coaxed the Queen. She sounded very thoughtful and concerning of the Prince, which made the Queen happy to know. Kao Sheng added in a sweet soft wooing voice, "Though, your Highness, it wouldn"t hurt to remind him to rest from time to time and make time to have proper meals."
The Queen was very happy to know that Kao Sheng is thoughtful, beautiful and mature. If the Prince have a wife like Kao Sheng, she would not have to worry about her son so much. At his age, he should have already been married and maybe having children already. She thought to herself that maybe Kao Sheng could mellow her son down a little. The Queen would love to have grandchildren as she only have one child. She got into an accident when carrying her second child and not only did she loss the ability to have children, she also lost her baby, thus making Hue Chi the only heir.
