Chapter 177: Evil Rich Man

Fu Chengyu spoke up. “The former is more likely, and if it is so, I recommend that we leave this place as soon as possible. Even if you wish to investigate, I don’t recommend doing it now.”

“All right.” Ling Chuxi agreed with Fu Chengyu. From her perspective, the former was indeed more likely to be the case. And if they wished to investigate, they needed to wait until later. The reason was very simple. Their cultivation right now was still too weak!

Without any hesitation, Ling Chuxi and her group once again resumed their journey and returned to White Stone City.

Fu Chengyu bought a quiet residence in White Stone City and moved in. As Ling Yichen was worried about him, he moved out from the academy and moved in with Fu Chengyu. To make it more convenient for Ling Chuxi to treat Fu Chengyu, she also moved out of the academy and chose to stay in a small, quiet courtyard in the innermost area of his residence.

“Evil rich man!” muttered Ling Chuxi through gritted teeth as she looked around at the seemingly insignificant but elegant sandalwood furniture in her room. “What’s so good about being rich? Just look at all this luxury. He bought this big residence without even blinking. There are fur cus.h.i.+ons, luxurious bed curtains and such exquisite carvings. Little White, don’t you think this is a great evil?”

Little White was snuggled in Ling Chuxi embrace. The fox blinked. ‘Was this a great evil?’

“Therefore, I have decided. I must become an evil rich man in the future!” p.r.o.nounced Ling Chuxi as she clenched her fist in excitement.

Little White’s head drooped, emulating a thoroughly speechless reaction to Ling Chuxi’s words.

“Miss Chuxi, are you satisfied with your living quarters?” asked Fu Chengyu with a gentle smile. Without knowing when they had arrived, Ling Chuxi saw that Fu Chengyu and Ling Yichen were already standing by the doorway.

“Oh? It’s not bad,” replied Ling Chuxi as she turned around and smiled. Upon seeing Ling Yichen suppressing his laughter, she knew that the two of them had overheard her talking to herself. “Yichen, have your teeth fallen out from you laughing before?” asked Ling Chuxi with a cold gaze.

“Ah? No. Why?” replied Ling Yichen very honestly.

“Then, why don’t you let me help you knock out a few?” spat Ling Chuxi through gritted teeth.

Ling Yichen immediately shut his mouth, laughing no longer.

“I will go and buy some herbs to refine some medicinal pills for you,” said Ling Chuxi with a frown when she saw Fu Chengyu’s ill-looking handsome pale face.

“What herbs do you need? List them down and I’ll ask someone to get them,” said Fu Chengyu with a smile.

“That works.” Ling Chuxi nodded and called out a few herb names. Fu Chengyu recorded them down one by one.

The requested herbs were brought back very quickly in quant.i.ties that were twice what Ling Chuxi had asked for. Ling Chuxi took the herbs and entered her quarters, secluding herself away. She no longer came out for the rest of the night. She even requested that her dinner be left by the door.

In the depth of the night, Fu Chengyu stood at the walkway of the loft, looking over at Ling Chuxi’s courtyard. The torches at her house were still burning bright. Very obviously, she was still refining medicinal pills. Without knowing how much time had pa.s.sed, the light in the house finally dimmed. Fu Chengyu leaned against a pillar, feeling a little complicated. However, he did not know exactly what he was feeling at the moment. He only turned around and returned to his own quarters after quite some time.

The next morning, after Fu Chengyu got up, he put on his clothes and stood by the walkway, subconsciously looking over at Ling Chuxi’s courtyard once more. When he saw the scene unfolding before him in the courtyard, his eyes widened. A heart-throbbing scene played out before his eyes.

Snow was fluttering from the sky. A maiden dressed in white with a sword in her hand was practicing her sword skills in the snow. Her movements were smooth and gentle, like the movement of clouds and flowing water. Her body executed all the moves she practiced gracefully and elegantly. Her bright face looked spirited. It was as though the snowflakes had come to life, spiraling all around her.

The scene made for such a beautiful painting that it made one unable to bear destroying it.
