Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 145 Sacred Body’s First Collision with the Divine Body

Chapter 145 Sacred Body’s First Collision with the Divine Body

The Ji Family and the Flickering Light Sacred Land’s great figures had arrived. Taixuan Sect’s Head Elder and many ancestors all personally went to greet them.

Zhuo Peak was still covered in overgrown weeds and withered vines, the temple halls completely broken. But today it had attracted such powerful existences.

Nine green flood dragons were flying through the sky. They looked like they were made of molten iron, their green scales flickering with a shocking strength. They were pulling a golden war chariot that rumbled around with an oppressive air. It looked as if it had come right out of ancient drawings.

The Flickering Light Sacred Land and the Ji Family had jointly come together, taking just one chariot, both parties appearing at Zhuo Peak.

Many experts of the 108 main peaks were startled, and many Elders gazed over.

Within the broken temple, the old madman was completely motionless. He was wrapped by a silver coc.o.o.n. A mysterious energy was released from him, causing the entire mountain peak to pulse with him. It was both like a devil fetus and an immortal seed.

This was an indescribable feeling. The Flickering Light Sacred Land and the Ji Family’s great figures’ expressions all changed as soon as they entered. They didn’t say anything, directly sitting down and closing their eyes, beginning to sense what was going on.

A peerless figure from six thousand years was expected by them to have reached nirvana. For them, this was a great opportunity that might allow them to one day achieve Immortality.

“Hey, where are you going? It’s hard to see such powerful figures; it’s a good chance to something good.” Ji Ziyue pulled on Ye Fan, suspiciously asking, “Where are you going?”

“I’m going somewhere quiet to cultivate. Admiring powerful people’s might isn’t as good as becoming strong myself.” Ye Fan started to walk down Zhuo Peak.

“You’re lying. I think you’re guilty and trying to avoid those great figures.” Ji Ziyue was very clever and sharp.

Ye Fan truly was trying to avoid them. Having too many secrets was also not a good thing. In the face of those supreme existences whose legacies stretched back to the Ancient Desolation, he couldn’t help but worry.

“Let’s go to the Star Peak for that invite. They’ll think we’re afraid if we don’t go,” proposed Ji Ziyue.

“Whatever, go by yourself. I’m going to cultivate.” Ye Fan didn’t want to go to the Star Peak so as to avoid trouble.

---

In the end, Ye Fan arrived at an empty mountain range and began to cultivate, at the same time thinking about what his next course of action should be. He decided that he would wait until the old madman’s condition became clear before leaving.

In the following few days, many powerful figures graced the Taixuan Sect with their presence. They had all come due to the old madman, and Zhuo Peak’s broken temple practically became a divine land.

Ordinary people were unable to approach that place at all. The ones who were able to sit there were all outstanding members of their generation, each a person of great fame.

Today the Star Peak once more sent people to invite Ye Fan and Ji Ziyue over. The people who delivered this invitation all extremely clearly stated that there were absolutely no evil intentions. It was only to ameliorate the two peaks’ relations.

“Since we have nothing to do, we might as well go.” Ji Ziyue agreed to go, dragging Ye Fan with her over to the Star Peak.

The people leading the way didn’t bring them to the peak of the mountain, instead bringing them to an area between normal mountains.

In this place the mountains were extremely beautiful. Mist filled the air around the mountain peaks, and at the feet of the mountains were flowing creeks, ancient trees, and old vines, appearing extremely serene.

In front of them, a fragrant meadow had a couple young people sitting down on the ground, each person having a wooden table in front of them with fruits and fine wine.

Amongst them was a blue-clothed man who was playing the zither. His hands brushed over it like an elegant b.u.t.terfly, giving people a lithe and relaxed feeling. His fingers played across the strings, the music extremely pleasant and graceful, allowing people’s heart to become tranquil.

Seeing Ye Fan and Ji Ziyue arrive, he stopped playing the zither and was the first to stand up, the others also following his lead forward and welcoming them.

“With the arrival of you two, the flowers that cover these mountains and plains have lost their brightness…” The blue-clothed man was very courteous, smiling and inviting them to sit.

He was tall and only around twenty-four years old. His blue clothes fluttered in the breeze. He didn’t say much, but he gave people a gentle and smart feeling.

This blue-clothed man could be said to possess a unique aura. It was like it was very easy to pull people closer to him and form ties.

“I’ve been in seclusion for two years and only come out of the Star Peak recently. I know that there are some conflicts between the Star Peak’s disciples and Zhuo Peak. Today I’ve invited you two solely for the purpose of apologizing.”

This man’s name was Hua Yunfei. He was like the flowing clouds and gentle wind, giving people an elegant and spiritual feeling.[1]

“Senior brother Hua truly makes me blush with shame. Although there were reasons, I still did injure the Star Peak’s disciples.” Since he was acting so courteous, Ye Fan naturally had to respond appropriately.

“I don’t blame you. Over the past few years the Star Peak has been flouris.h.i.+ng, and some disciples even became complacent and arrogant, believing the Star Peak to dominate within the Taixuan sect. This was a very bad situation that I have already learned of. Junior brother Ye’s actions truly were appropriate and cannot be blamed. Actually, I have to thank you for allowing them time for self-reflection.” Hua Yunfei was sincere and refined, possessing a spiritual air that caused people to feel like they were being cleansed by a spring wind.

Ye Fan had already heard that the Star Peak’s master had the surname Hua. In Taixuan Sect’s history, over half of the Head Elders came from the Star Peak, and of these over half were surnamed Hua. It could be said that the surname Hua had a very important position within the Taixuan Sect.

Actually, the founder of the Taixuan Sect was surnamed Hua, so of course the name was powerful. But this didn’t cause anyone displeasure or dissatisfaction. In fact, many believed that it should be like this.

After the proper etiquette, they sat down on the fragrant meadow. Li Xiaoman was also there, her expression calm. She was behind a table to the left of Hua Yunfei.

“Today I’ll play a song for you to apologize to Zhuo Peak. After this song, the two peaks will no longer be enemies.”

Hua Yunfei’s finger gently danced over the zither. The music washed over them like the moonlight from a clear spring night, causing people to feel tranquil. This was an apologetic tune that contained a certain morale inside it, but Ye Fan was only able to hear some of that musical intent, unable to tell the allusion within the song.

Ji Ziyue secretly transmitted to him, “I’ve remembered him. This Hua Yunfei is extremely powerful…”

Ye Fan’s heart shook when he heard this. Although he knew that Hua Yunfei was definitely not ordinary, he didn’t think he would be this powerful.

As the grandson of the Star Peak’s master, his talent was extraordinary. At eighteen he was the number one disciple within the Star Peak. At twenty-two, of the 108 main peaks within the Taixuan Sect there was no one of the same generation who could suppress him.

“In the outside world, they all thought my big brother Haoyue was in isolated seclusion for twenty years, but two years ago he actually was brought out for a secret training exercise and ended up fighting with Hua Yunfei.”

The Ji Family’s divine body Ji Haoyue had once fought Hua Yunfei? That was definitely a battle of geniuses. The divine body might shake the world, but Ji Haoyue still had to pay a price in order to defeat Hua Yunfei.

“He’s this powerful…” Ye Fan was amazed.

“Yes. Other than the divine body, there are few within the same generation who can suppress him. He is exceptionally talented. Even big brother Haoyue spent a great deal of effort before beating him. There will definitely sooner or later come a day where his name shakes the Eastern Wastelands. Other than the divine body, he will be practically unrivalled,” Ji Ziyue secretly agreed.

At this time, Hua Yunfei’s hands were agilely dancing over the strings very naturally. What appeared to be immortal mist stirred up, giving people an extremely spiritual feeling.

Although he was a man, he was not less spiritual than a woman. His music was absolutely perfect, giving people the feeling that a clear spring was bubbling and that moonlight was spilling over, causing them to feel extremely serene and peaceful.

The zither drew out a poetic and picturesque wonder world. Everyone was immersed within it, and soon even the birds were drawn over. A huamei bird somewhat timidly descended down just in front of the zither. Then a yellow oriole also descended, attracted by the zither’s music. In just a short time hundreds of birds came to the fragrant lawn to stand in front of the zither.

This was a kind of marvel. Hua Funfei was spiritual like an immortal, his entire person resonating with heaven and earth’s spirituality. Even the birds seemed to blend together with heaven and earth to merge into a whole new world.

Ye Fan was unable to remain unmoved when seeing this sight. Hua Yunfei was definitely not an ordinary person. He secretly asked, “Your big brother possesses the divine body and has cultivated the Bright Moon Rising over the Sea Variation. Did he really have to use a great deal of strength to beat him?”

“Hua Yunfei has also cultivated an ancient almighty Variation. After that battle he went into seclusion for two years. Now that he has come out, he is definitely immeasurable. Other than my big brother, I suspect there is no one within this area of the same generation who is his match.”

After the music ended, the birds didn’t leave, flying around nearby, adding to this beautiful scenery.

“This music is only deserving for the Heavens. People can only hear it rarely.” Ye Fan clapped his hands, praising, “Senior brother Hua truly is a heavenly person. His music moved the immortal mountains and drew hundreds of birds over, really causing people to exclaim in admiration.”

“You flatter me. It’s just a pleasant tune and isn’t anything special.” He raised his cup and said, “I hope the Star Peak and Zhuo Peak will be able to live in harmony now.”

Everyone raised their cups and drank, a friendly sight.

“I heard from junior sister Xiaoman that junior brother Ye came from a very distant place where civilization is brilliant and not at all like the Eastern Wastelands. I really am fascinated by it.”

Ye Fan’s heart shook. Could it be that Li Xiaoman had told him the truth? If she had, that would definitely provoke major trouble and he couldn’t help looking at Li Xiaoman.

At this moment she was wearing white clothes and appeared very elegant and beautiful. Her expression was calm, like a pure white lotus, and nothing could be seen from it.

“It’s nothing in comparison to the Eastern Wastelands.” Ye Fan sipped the fruit wine. Placing the wine cup down, he spoke with a calm expression, “Where we come from no one can cultivate. People grow old and die with longevities of at most one hundred years.”

“Junior brother Ye is modest. I really am interested in that place. I hope when the time comes you’ll give me your guidance.” Hua Yunfei seemed very sincere, raising a cup to Ye Fan and saying, “I feel like the place you come from has some sort of connection with this place.”

Ye Fan heart’s shook. He had a feeling that Hua Yunfei must understand a lot. Could it be Li Xiaoman really did tell him everything?

Ji Ziyue eyes were constantly going back and forth. She felt that Ye Fan truly had too many secrets, secretly deciding she had to do everything she could to unearth them.

“The Ji Family’s legacy extends back the Ancient Desolation and its name shakes the Eastern Wastelands. A young lady from the Ji Family is visiting my Taixuan Sect right now, and I really have been somewhat neglectful.” Hua Yunfei raised a cup to Ji Ziyue with a humble smile.

The status of a young lady from an Ancient Desolation n.o.ble Family was shocking to everyone. Li Xiaoman was very startled, a rather strange expression appearing on her face.

Ji Ziyue wasn’t too disturbed. In reality, most of the disciples of Zhuo Peak had already learned of her ident.i.ty, let alone the grandson of the Star Peak’s master.

She smiled sweetly, a tiny dimple appearing on her left cheek. “My name is Ji Ziyue. The Ji from Jishui River, the Zi from the purple clouds coming from the east, and Yue like the bright moon.”

“Jishui River?!” Ye Fan’s heart shook. He had never asked anything about Ji Ziyue’s family, but now endless questions appeared in his mind. “This world’s people also know of Jishui River?”

“Do you not know of it? An ancient river flows from the east, it’s name is Jishui. It’s very famous within the Eastern Wastelands. It flows past my family’s gate. It’s been going by there for at least fifty thousand years.” Ji Ziyue eyes flashed with a strange light.

Ye Fan was completely bewildered. This kind of timing was too long ago, definitely far surpa.s.sing the Earth’s Jishui River.

“I should have paid a visit to young lady Ziyue a long time ago, but I only just came out of seclusion. I’ve actually exchanged friendly blows with your older brother, so we aren’t exactly strangers.” Hua Yunfei smiled and then stood up, saying, “I have to go greet a couple important guests. You guys can stay here.”

“No need, senior brother Hua. We’ve already arrived here.”

This place was a extremely beautiful, littered with fresh flowers and wonderful stones that decorated the pavilion.

A dozen people floated over. There were men and women, each having an uncommon temperament. The men were handsome and the women were beautiful, looking just like divine immortals.

“Big brother Haoyue, why have you come here…” Ji Ziyue quietly muttered, hiding behind Ye Fan.

The peerless figure from six thousand years ago atop Zhuo Peak had attracted powerful figures from supreme existences like the Flickering Light and Ji Family.

At the same time, these powerful figures’ outstanding disciples also came to the Taixuan Sect, including the Eastern Wastelands divine body Ji Haoyue, the Flickering Light Sacred Land’s sacred lady, and many outstanding members of the younger generation.

Ye Fan smiled and greeted them, inviting them to this place.

“Ziyue…” Ji Haoyue’s purple clothes fluttered. He was like the bright moon, his aura far above mortality, appearing just like a G.o.d, endless light enveloping him.

“Big brother Haoyue…” Ji Ziyue sweetly smiled, walking out from behind Ye Fan’s body. She bounced over to hug Ji Haoyue’s arm.

“Why are you with him?” JI Haoyue’s expression might be calm, but his gaze was still intimidating. Gazing at Ye Fan, he clearly remembered seeing this person together with many Greater Demons.

“Why can’t I be with him?” Ji Ziyue wrinkled her nose, resentfully shaking Ji Haoyue’s arm.

These dozen people were all outstanding persons, all of them looking between Ye Fan and Ji Haoyue. Amongst them was the Flickering Light Sacred Land’s sacred lady, her beauty capable of captivating even birds and beasts, eclipsing the moon and shaming flowers. She was like an exiled immortal overlooking the mortal world, brightly beyond the mortal dust.

Ji Haoyue walked up to Ye Fan. “Has my little sister been with you all throughout these few months?”

Ye Fan stayed seated, responding with an extremely infuriating response, “Right, we ate and lived together.”

“What are you saying?!” Ji Haoyue might be very calm, similar to a bright moon, a very intimidating light flashed within his eyes.

“Sorry, that was the wrong way to say it. What I meant to say is that we were always together, hardly ever separating.”

“Hey, don’t say random stuff.” Ji Ziyue punched him.

The light within Ji Haoyue’s eyes became even clearer, his purple robes fluttering, looking down on Ye Fan. It was unknown just what he was thinking off.

Suddenly, a blue-green sea appeared, crystal clear waves s.h.i.+ning as a bright moon rose above. The Bright Moon Rising over the Sea Variation appeared behind Ji Haoyue, water-like moonlight flowing at Ye Fan.

“Big brother Haoyue, what are you doing?” Ji Ziyue was startled, hastily trying to block. But a wave from the sea behind him swept out and held her in place.

The others were all shocked, not expecting Ji Haoyue to bring out his Variation towards an unknown youngster.

The Flickering Light Sacred Lady’s beautiful eyes opened wide, unblinkingly gazing at the Bright Moon Rising over the Sea Variation.

Li Xiaoman stood up and stared attentively.

Hua Yunfei thought about, looking as if he wanted to block it, but in the end not doing anything.
