Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 681 Silmos

Chapter 681 Silmos

Eisen and Ramsay continued to eat some of the giant Beef Wellington that they made together, and the rest was given to either the angels or the other cooks that were gathered around.

The old man took a deep breath and once more took in the scents that were gathering around in this s.p.a.ce. The atmosphere, these sounds, these joyful, honest expressions that everyone had on their face. They truly loved what they did, and Eisen was glad that he was given the chance to see them like that.

"I think I should head off now." Eisen said, and Ramsay slowly turned his head toward him, "Hm, are you sure? You can stay a bit longer, if you want to."

"I know that I could stay longer, but I"ve already spent quite some time here in the heavens in general. All that I want to do right now is take a breath of air that isn"t infused with some sort of Holy Aura." The old man pointed out, and Ramsay slowly nodded his head, "Ah, I understand what you mean. It"s a bit overwhelming sometimes, isn"t it?"

"It sure is, yes." Eisen said as he slowly stood up from the chair that he took a seat on before. He stretched his hand out forward to Ramsay and shook the lesser G.o.d"s hand, "It was nice to see you again, Ramsay. Sorry if my mood wasn"t the best today."

"No worries, everyone has days like that. You can"t be cheerful all the time, can you?" The lesser G.o.d said in an understanding tone, and Eisen slightly smiled back, "Exactly. Still, thanks for understanding, though."

Ramsay nodded his head, and Eisen turned around. He started walking through the workshop, looking at the different stalls that were set up here. He pa.s.sed by the one where he was given some Sirdigan food to taste and waved at the two of them.

Eisen would definitely visit that area of the continent that the Giant Country was on, it seemed rather interesting. But then, Eisen stood in front of the workshop, and he slowly activated his Draconic Demon King transformation and spread out his wings.

After pus.h.i.+ng his wings down to lift himself up, the old man was already soaring through the skies, and was headed right for the tower in the center of this seemingly infinitely large town. He couldn"t see anything beyond the horizon but more buildings.

And in the center of it all was Silmos, atop his tower. The old man flew over there and landed in front of the large gate at the bottom of it, slowly turning his head to look at the angels. Immediately, they opened up the large double door and Eisen stepped inside, while Ambriel stayed behind, since he never came with Eisen to visit the greater G.o.ds in the first place.

The moment that Eisen stepped inside of the gate, he was a bit surprised with what he saw. It was like he was now on some sort of balcony with only a dozen or so thick pillars holding the roof up, and beyond the open s.p.a.ces, Eisen could see the town stretch out below him.

It was like the gate down there was connected to the top of the tower. Either way, all that Eisen could really focus on was the man that was seated on the other side of the room. Silmos.

Eisen approached him, and the greater G.o.d slowly stood up from his throne as well. Silmos was a tall man, with a similar stature to Eisen. But still, Silmos was physically a lot younger than Eisen. If he saw a picture of him without context, the old man would have guessed him to be around 30 or so years old.

But even so, the two of them immediately understood each other. Eisen had never interacted with Silmos before, or at least he couldn"t remember himself do so right now. He would surely be able to remember Silmos when he rested, though, so that was good enough for the old man right now.

But even though Eisen didn"t have any specific memories of interacting with this man, it was clear that the two of them were on good terms with each other. After all, Eisen was just happy when he saw Silmos, as if he had finally met an old friend again.

Immediately, the two of them hugged each other, and even did that thing where they happily patted each other on the back while they were at it, "It"s great to see you again, Eisen." Silmos said, and the old man couldn"t help but return that sentiment immediately.

"Likewise, Silmos. Although I"m sorry that I can"t-"

"Remember me, I know. All of us G.o.ds are obviously aware of that." Silmos explained, and looked the man in front of him up and down for a few moments, "But I can see that you"re just the same man as when I last saw you. You even dress the same now as you did back then."

"Yeah, I figured that out already as well. I"m basically wearing this exact sort of outfit in all of my memories. There are a few exceptions of course, but whenever I"m out and about, I wear this."

"And of course, why wouldn"t you? Right now it might not be the most benefitial to you, considering that it"s not the most protective gear around, but you are already strong enough to handle yourself in most places where you go. And back then, you obviously didn"t need to worry about anything. You could have walked around buck-nacked, and not even the greatest warriors could have brought you down." The G.o.d explained with a slight laugh, and Eisen just smiled back at him as he scratched the back of his head.

"Is that so?" He asked, "I do kind of wonder how strong I truly was back then. I have never seen myself in any sort of trouble after I peaked in my memories."

"Of course not, what kind of being could cause trouble to a person that peaked, no matter if that person is a Combatist or not." Silmos pointed out, and Eisen had to admit that it seemed kind of unlikely, although there certainly were some beings that could prove a challenge.

"What about transcendent monsters, then?" The old man asked, and Silmos raised his brows surprised, "Hm, that"s a fair point. I think they might have given you some trouble at some point, but for the most part, you and the others killed the majority of them. There"s only half a dozen left or so, I think."

Hearing what Silmos said, Eisen became a little bit confused about a small aspect of this. It sounded like, "...There were a lot of trasncendent monsters back then?"

Silmos slowly nodded, as if this was just obvious, "Of course, thousands of "em. You mostly used them to help the others peak, I think. And of course, to make equipment for them. There aren"t that many sources for materials that can be used to make Divine Quality items, but trasnscendent monsters are one of those few sources."

"...That makes sense, I think. I should have figured that there are a lot of monsters that reached that point but weren"t able to become G.o.ds, to be honest. But I never really thought about it all that much."

"And why would you? It"s not like you really could have known. Most transcendent monsters never showed themselves to people, so most are unknown to them. They usually just creep out somewhere and do their own thing. At least that can be said for all the ones that are left over now, they"re super intelligent and quite old, so at that point there"s little that excites you anyway. A lot of them were just hibernating for hundreds of years when you killed them in their sleep, I think."

"That... Yeah, that sounds fair. I would definitely use a chance like that to kill something if I was planning on it in the first place." The old man admitted with a wry smile on his face, and Silmos swiftly waved his hand to the side, and two chairs and a table were created for them. It seemed like Silmos wanted to have a bit of a longer chat compared to most of the other greater G.o.ds that Eisen had spoken to so far.

"I would love to hear about some of the items you made throughout your time here. In the heavens, and in the mortal realm, I mean. Oh, and I can tell you about some artifacts that you would surely not remember currently, and anything else you would like to know, really. I have more than enough time, after all."

With a slight smile on his face, Eisen sat down on the chair that Silmos offered to him and nodded his head, "That sounds like a plan to me." He said as Silmos sat down on the other chair. The two of them started to talk about just the things that Silmos suggested they tlak about, and at some parts their speech became a little overly technical as they were speaking about different production-methods that Eisen had been making use of.

And about half an hour of Eisen talking about his own items, and for example showing off his Demonic Blade as well as his Demonic Mult.i.tool Bai to the greater G.o.d, who took quite a liking to Bai to the extent where he voiced his jealousy.

"I wish I had some sort of ability to create this artificial kind of life. I would instantly create myself a tool with such a level of intelligence." The G.o.d pointed out, and Eisen smiled back as he rubbed his hand over Bai"s head while feeding him a small hammer that he prepared as a snack for the Ego-Mult.i.tool.

"Well, it can be a bit of a handful sometimes, especially when it comes to the point where you have to work with other tools. And even just collaborating with others on something can make it a bit... antsy. It"s like a kid, really. A bratty, but quite talented kid." The old man said with a laugh on his face, and Silmos nodded his head, "I understand what you mean. The few Ego-Tools that I used throughout my years were like that as well. Because they only learn to feel emotions at some point after you"ve already used them for a while, they become a bit wilder and feel their emotions rather strongly. It really is like they are kids, kids that can understand a lot more things, but process them like children."

Eisen couldn"t help but smile while Silmos was speaking, after all, that was exactly what the old man thought about some ego-items as well.
