Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 863: Three Helpers

Chapter 863: Three Helpers

Eisen carefully moved the guardian"s limbs, checking to see that everything was moving right. It was the first time that Eisen had made guardians from scratch that didn"t belong to the base model that he originally got the blueprint for; instead, similar to Girland herself, Eisen created elven guardians.

He just figured it might be good for the guardians that helped Girland out to look more like her, and this was a good start to developing other kinds of guardians in the first place.

Though Eisen wasn"t planning on creating a ma.s.sive amount of guardians, there were always the cases of people that were killed unjustly due to Eisen"s and the others" involvement, people that were manipulated by Samuel that deserved another chance at life, or, simply put, guardians for very specific tasks, just like with Girland.

Of course, she already had some a.s.sistants working with her; citizens from Prototype that worked together with her to easen her workload, but n.o.body beside Girland could access the data of the country the way that she could. But with Core Helpers that were also connected to the country core, that was going to be different.

There were a lot of different sets of data to keep track of, and if Girland spent all her time just checking and managing said data, she would do nothing else all day, and that didn"t even include extensive data a.n.a.lysis yet. So, these helpers would make it possible to make use of the Country system more comprehensively, far better than before.

The old man took a deep breath and stood back up, carefully setting down the third and last helper on low table outside of the workshop.

"Girland," Eisen spoke loudly, and the country core guardian appeared by his side af ew moments later. Experience amazing tales on m vl-em|p-yr

"Yes, your majesty?"

"These are the three core helpers you asked me to make. I"ll wake them up now, so please guide them well, and don"t overwork them too much. That means do not let them work 24/7, let them take breaks, have them properly set up in decent rooms in the castle, and teach them thoroughly but patiently. Understood?" the old man asked, and Girland looked up at him with a bit of hesitation.

"You want them to take breaks?"

"...What? Of course I do, I"ve been telling you to take breaks all the time too, right?" the old man replied with a frown, "G.o.ds, what kind of man was I before?"

Girland slowly replied, "You created us to do these jobs. We do not tire nor need to eat or drink. Why would we take breaks?"

"Because you"re people like everyone else too. You can get stressed, you get annoyed, and you can feel lonely and overworked. You all need breaks. You haven"t been taking breaks? Serio!"

"Yes?" the town core guardian of Prototype appeared next to the two, looking up at the king.

"Have you been taking breaks? How much do you work a day?"

"...Regretfully, I have been working 12 hours a day, even though you told me to stop at 8. I apologise," Serio replied, and Eisen sighed deeply.

"As long as you don"t work constantly, it"s fine. If you start noticing that Girland is still working constantly, let me know, alright?"

"As you wish," Serio nodded his head, looking over at Girland nervously, "...Sorry."

The country core guardian closed her eyes and shook her head, "No, no, that is fine. I understand..."

Eisen sighed, looking back at the Core Helpers, "I"ll just wake them up now," he said, placing his hand onto each of the guardians" heads, infusing them with a spark of mana to jumpstart them. It didn"t take long for them to wake up either as their bodies were filled with their own mana from the artificial souls spread throughout them.

The Core Helpers slowly got up from the tables, carefully getting used to their bodies. Since they held artificials souls, they were still incredibly malleable, but didn"t know a lot of things yet, beyond how to actually use their own bodies.

"My name is Eisen, and this is Girland. Your job is to a.s.sist Girland in the job of managing this country. She will bring you to the country core and help you connect to it," Eisen explained, though he didn"t really need to tell them any details just yet.

Once they connected with the country core, they would get a lot more informaton on their tasks, and giving them a lecture of everything they needed to know wasn"t particularly useful yet. So, Eisen just said the most important thing before sending them off with Girland, "Please learn more about this place and who you are. And once you do, please come introduce yourselves to me."

The three core helpers looked around and at each other, only silently staring at Eisen. They understood his words, but they didn"t know what to do about it yet. And so, Girland carefully led the three helpers away into the castle, where they would be brought to the country core hidden deep below.

"Alright," Eisen smiled, watching them walk through the gardens. Serio was still stood next to him, so he figured he might as well ask, "Do you also need any more help?"

The town core guardian shook his head, "I am fine with the people that we employed. Since my work is only here within the city, it is much easier to take care of even if those people don"t have access to the town"s system," Serio explained, before contemplating something for a moment, "Though, I can ask the employees if there is anything they could need.

I have noticed that there are some inefficiencies here and there, mostly in regard to clerical work."

"It would be great if you could do that, please. Just write me up a list and give it to me when you can, alright?"

"Of course. Do you need anything else from me currently, your Majesty?"

"Not particularly. Oh but I did want to ask, how far along is the preparation of the land for the central station?" Eisen asked. He had been working on the core helpers all day and night, and didn"t really pay attention to anything else all too much, as he generally did.

Of course, now that he thought about it, the fact that he was telling the others to take breaks when he himself really didn"t felt a bit... hypocritical.

Serio looked into the air for a second and then turned back to Eisen, "The land has been properly flattened and reinforced. The buildings that stood there beforehand have been fully moved with the special golems that you prepared, and the citizens living or working within those buildings are very happy with their new locations."

Eisen smiled with a bit of relief. A central station, as the name implied, should be built in the center of a city. But considering that Prototype hadn"t been constructed or planned with this in mind, there simply wasn"t the s.p.a.ce.

So, Eisen had built some golem cores that could be buried in front of a building, and it would simply lift the whole building up with the ground it stood on, carefully bringing it through the roads, creating the s.p.a.ce for the station that way.

"Did we get the plan for the central station by now?"

"Not yet. According to Girland, Lady Evalia is working quite hard on the design for the central station. She wants it to be particularly special," Serio explained, and Eisen sighed lightly. He did understand that, and he appreciated it quite a bit, but at this point in time they kind of had to hurry it up. The construction of buildings at that size would take quite a while.

Though, worst-case, they can leave sections of the building under construction and just finish the most important areas.

"Alright, let me know immediately when we have the plans," Eisen said, glancing at his wrist. He had built himself a clock with two different faces on it, one showing the time in this world, and one showing the time on Earth. Usually he used the system, but since Eisen was trying to wean himself off the system, this was a good improvise.

"But for now, I"ll be headed out for a bit. I"ll be back in a few hours," Eisen said with a smile on his face, turning back around toward the workshop. Serio slightly bowed.

"Have a good time, your Majesty."

"Thank you, Serio. You as well," the old man smiled. He stepped into the workshop, taking a seat on the chair in the corner of the room as he logged out.
