Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 101

"You wanna make me a new guitar?" Evalia asked surprised, and Eisen nodded with a smile.

"Yeah, sure. I should have all of the materials in the carriage, and it"s been a while since I"ve really worked on an instrument, so I"d like to try it again. Ah, you"ll have to help me make the string though. I don"t really know how thick or strong they each need to be."

"That would be great! I"m sure what you can make is much better than anythin" I can buy. We both know why you"re here, after all." Evalia chuckled and Eisen smiled back as he moved over to the carriage and opened the door.

"Do you want to come inside? I can start working on the Guitar, and once Komer is done for today, I"ll introduce you to everyone. Except if you"re busy, we can meet again later if that"s the case."

"Oh no, I don"t have anythin" to do! Just wanted to see if I can get this paintin" sold for some money." Evalia explained as she followed Eisen inside, immediately seeing a few more creatures.

First, a completely golden wolf sleeping on the ground, and directly next to it were six bees. Noticing that Evalia was staring, Eisen laughed loudly. "The wolf is Aulu, she"s an automaton. And the Bees are tamed, so don"t worry."

"Oh, so you"re the one that those guards were talkin" about!" Evalia laughed, but the old man simply frowned. "When I was on my way out to paint this, I heard some guards talkin" about bees someone brought in. Guess they were talkin" about you, weren"t they?"

Eisen chuckled lowly and nodded, extending his hand before Melissa flew to stick onto his arm. "Yeah, some rookie Guard didn"t want to let me bring them into the town at first. But his senior let us through after all. Anyway, could I see that guitar for a second? I"d like to use it as reference." Eisen explained, and Evalia handed the instrument to him, before he pulled down the top of his worktable from the wall together with a large sheet of paper and square, thin planks large enough to cut the bases of the guitar out of. And that was really simple, since Eisen basically just had to trace the shape of the guitar that Evalia already had.

But while Eisen was doing this, he had an idea that might actually be quite fun to play around with.

"Evalia, do you want a cla.s.sic accoustic guitar, or do you want something in the style of an electric guitar?" Eisen asked the young star, and she opened her eyes wide in surprise.

"An electric guitar? How"re you plannin" on doing that? But yeah, I guess lately I"ve been enjoyin" playing those more." Evalia explained, and she simply told the truth. Of course an accoustic guitar was nice and cla.s.sic, and you could do so many amazing things with them, but electric guitars were more her thing for the past few months, ever since her music turned toward giving off a rock-vibe.

"Don"t worry, I"ve got an idea." Eisen chuckled, immediately putting away the thin planks and instead grabbing a big chunk of wood that Eisen gathered when testing out his axe on his way to Ornier.

Immediately, he began carving away at it once he activated all of the skills that would push his crafting further, meaning his two racial skills, his Crafting s.p.a.ce skill, and his Flame of the Earth transformation on his hands.

And as if they were never there in the first place, Eisen quickly carved away chunk after chunk of the block of wood until he had a flat cuboid, out of which he then carved the body. Most of it was still taken from the shape of Evalia"s accoustic guitar, just with that round chunk taken out of the corner that you would often see in electric guitars.

Next, Eisen started on the fretboard and neck of the guitar. Since he only had a rough idea of the s.p.a.cing between each fret, he had Evalia quickly help by sketching down what it would need to be in the case of this guitar.

Eisen cut small fret slots into the board, and then started the neck itself, basically just a plank with a rounded bottom. The head wasn"t really complicated either, as it was simply a rough triangular shape with small holes meant for the tuning wheels.

Eisen glued the fretboard to the neck of the guitar and pushed in the frets that were recycled from Evalia"s old guitar. They were basically the only part of her old guitar that you could still use, and it would take quite a while to get nickel silver, which funnily doesn"t even contain an ounce of silver, the material that frets were usually made of. Since it was easy to set the frets in properly with trans.m.u.tation, Eisen managed to finish this part quite easily.

Now, Eisen only needed to attach the neck to the body, which was quite easily done as well since Eisen could simply permanently connect them using trans.m.u.tation instead of needing to use screws or something similar. This made everything look somewhat neater already.

After that, Eisen cut a small block out of the wood, where the other end of the strings would later be attached to where Eisen would place some enchanted mana crystals later to receive the signal from the strings, as well as a small circle, where a mana crystal would then act as something like a speaker, out of the solid wood body.

Before continuing, the surface of the wooden guitar was sanded properly to be as smooth as possible and then finished with the solution that Eisen had been using constantly up until now

Next, Eisen actually grabbed mana crystals and began shaping them into six small cubes as well as one circular plate.

Eisen first, one after another, began to carve the enchantments into the six cubes that would take the signal from the strings that would be attached later and then transfer it over to the speaker that would be installed later.

On the front surface of the circular plate, Eisen carved the enchantment that was needed in order to practically turn it into a speaker. There was nothing special about it, since it was basically like any flame enchantment, as it would simply pour out something as specified by something put into it. Eisen also added a function where the volume would change depending on how much mana was put into it, and already figured out a few ways that would make this a quite easily changed setting.

First, Eisen added a mana crystal battery behind the sound receivers that the string would be connected to so that they would continue functioning, and then hid it behind the wood again so that it couldn"t even be removed. After all, there was no need for that.

But directly behind the mana crystal speaker, Eisen placed a small slot where Evalia could later place different mana crystal batteries, each with a different output level, which would allow for the volume to be louder in return for the battery draining more quickly. But enchantments like this were quite mana efficient anyway, so it wouldn"t be a problem in the long run.

After this, Eisen grabbed some of his magic string and sat down together with Evalia while she instructed him on how thick and strong the string needed to be, which he changed by simply intertwining it with itself and using his trans.m.u.tation to make it harder.

In the end, Eisen made six different thicknesses of string, about three times more than he would need for the guitar right now so that Evalia had some kind of replacement in case they ended up snapping.

So then, he only needed to attach the string from each receiver to the right tuner, and then the whole thing was finished.

And while Evalia was filling up the batteries, Eisen also quickly shaped a small mana crystal pick, simply because it looked pretty cool as a material, and it might change something while Evalia was playing if she would be able to easily infuse a pick with mana.

But since it took only a few seconds to finish a small pick with Eisen"s trans.m.u.tation, he waited for Evalia to finish loading up one of the mana crystal batteries. Once she was done, Eisen simply showed her how to put the crystal into the guitar and make sure that it stayed there without accidentally falling out while Evalia was moving.

Excitedly, the musician grabbed the pick that Eisen prepared for her and slowly began tuning the guitar, and Eisen was incredibly happy to see that everything worked without a flaw on his first time trying these enchantments. Once the guitar was properly tuned, only then was Eisen able to fully accept this guitar as finished, in response to which Eisen quickly carved his symbol into the guitar"s body after confirming with Evalia that she was fine with it. And it seemed like the game recognized the guitar to be finished now as well.

Eisen smiled as he looked through the notifications that popped up in front of him and waved them away, before looking at Evalia with excitement in his eyes, waiting for her to actually play it to test out how well it worked.

But first, she stared at Eisen after being impressed at this product. "Wow, this is amazin"! I don"t have anything to give to you, though… Ah, wait! Would"cha be alright with this painting? It increases your mana regeneration if you"re around it!" Evalia explained, holding forward the painting that she put down onto the ground, and Eisen took a look at it with a smile before a notification popped up to confirm what Evalia just explained.

[Mana Regeneration +10% for 24 Hours]

"This is absolutely amazing, Evalia, thank you! I"ll hang it up in here later, then. Now, could I make another request to you?"

"Oh, of course!" Evalia answered happily with a grin on her face while staring down at her new guitar.

"Would you mind playing a little song outside? As a craftsman, I want to see what I created being used, and it might help out with business out there as well." Eisen smiled, and Evalia grinned before nodding.

"Don"t you worry about it for a second, I was plannin" on doing that anyway! Although I have another question for you before then. What was that thingy you did with your hands that made them look all weird?" Evalia asked, and Eisen was confused what she meant for a second, but soon enough managed to figure out what she could mean, activating his Flame of the Earth Transformation on hs hand to confirm. "Oh, do you mean this?"

Immediately, Evalia nodded, and Eisen quickly explained.

"Ah, well, do you have the Mana Manipulation skill? And if so, did you bring it to Rank 2 yet?"

"Yes I did! Was that somethin" with your Element, then?" She asked while holding her palm upward and pouring out a little bit of mana that she then infused with her "Colors of Beauty" element, turning it into a bright pink paint that then turned to green, then blue, and then red, continuosly changing its color.

Eisen was watching the progress of this, and noticed that the air was slightly s.h.i.+fting first before the element appeared, which was a sign for Evalia infusing her mana outside of her body.

"Yes, exactly. Seems like you didn"t figure out how to infuse your mana with your element in your body yet, then. It"s quite simple, really. You compress your mana into a spot in your body, and then control your element to combine with your mana at that spot. What I did for this transformation was concentrate my mana everywhere in my hand and then infused it with my element, after which it changed into this." Eisen explained, and Evalia listened curiously, immediately trying this out.

After a short while, Eisen noticed that Evalia"s skin color on her hand was slowly changing toward purple, and Evalia opened her eyes widely in response. Immediately, she grabbed her new guitar and watched as its color slowly changed in response to Evalia"s control.

"Well then, this is quite amazin", isn"t it?" She laughed softly, and then nodded at Eisen. "Thanks for that! Let"s see if this has any effect while playin" then!" Evalia said with a smirk before stepping out of the carriage, eager to play a short song.
