Chapter 1219: 5,400 Pseudo-saints

“Here’s the brain you wanted.” She cracked the crab’s head and extracted a fist-sized white light.

Within the light was a brain with complex patterns twisted together. They emitted eerie howls.

Feiyuin had never seen one before, only reading about it in ancient records. Only demi-saint creatures could gestate a ghost brain.

This allowed them to become wiser, a sacred-level material only second to the fruit. Just one essence of the brain could drastically improve one’s comprehension.

Feiyun consumed the whole thing and sat down, attempting to learn the dao in the ear. After activating his heavenly gaze and using the brain, the ear became different.

He saw how it was made from countless saint laws. The area was also favorable to dao comprehension.

On the fifth day, he gained the second saint law and the third on the ninth day.

On the twenty-eighth day, he had eight.

Thirty-sixth day, eleven.

Forty-ninth day, eighteen. By this point, he had used all the power of the ghost brain and the process became slow.

“There’s nothing left after forty-nine days.” He opened his eyes and put away the ear.

“How many dao laws did you learn?” Phoenix G.o.ddess appeared next to him, clearly stronger than before.

“Eighteen.” He said.

“Seventeen after just forty-nine days. That’s incredible even with the help of the ghost brain, a top-rate comprehension ability.” She was slightly surprised.

“Still lacking, I heard that a few geniuses in this world can learn dozens or several hundred laws in one session, going from the seventh to the eighth level.” Feiyun shook his head.

“Dao enlightenment is a step-by-step process. What you described can happen but it requires the perfect circ.u.mstances before the actual session.” She responded.

“Oh? You have thirty-six more bones?” Feiyun stared at her.

“You’re being rude.” She teleported behind him. This was her first time showing any sign of embarra.s.sment.

They have been naked all along and relied on an illusory technique for clothes. This couldn’t stop Feiyun’s heavenly gaze so he saw everything - her soft b.r.e.a.s.t.s, jade legs and the in-between...

He swore that it was just an accident - he merely wanted to see her phoenix bones.

“That’s unfair, you can see everything while standing behind me as well.” Feiyun protested but didn’t turn around since he was still a gentleman.

Her figure was flawless with bowl-sized b.r.e.a.s.t.s, long and straight legs, and an exquisite waist without a single imperfection. Even her belly b.u.t.ton was cute. This created a duality of s.e.xiness and innocence.

The body of a demon was real, not formed by a shapes.h.i.+fting spell like beasts.

She, on the other hand, had no impure thoughts while looking at his back: “I refined the jewels and found a fortune while you were cultivating, a total of 589 bones now.”

“Quite lucky you are.” He said.

“Follow me and you will see.” She grew a pair of wings and flew toward a mountain peak.

His wings were far larger, looking more like eagle wings compared to her crane-like ones.

They landed on the pinnacle and when looking down, they saw a boundless river with surging waves and obscuring mist.

The origin and end of the river were unknown. Instead of water, it was made from fire essence.

“This is a world river?” Feiyun was ecstatic.

“Yes, one of the eight. I’ve already taken care of the beasts nearby.” She said. This was the fortune she referred to - refining the beasts into bones.

“Heaven smiles upon me.” Feiyun said before landing on the sh.o.r.e, releasing his beast souls to absorb essences.

She stared at him for a split moment before landing in a different area, meditating and absorbing essences.

Although she had 589 bones, she had a long way to go before reaching grand completion with her Immortal Phoenix Physique.

Everyone was different. The majority of phoenixes only needed 408 bones. Consort Immortal Queen was the current number one of their race, a deified genius. She finished at 931 bones, unable to reach grand completion.

This was an arduous route, changing bones into phoenix bones. For humans, they had 206 bones so their normal limit was 206 phoenix bones.

Phoenix had 408 bones, so 408 was their limit. Phoenix G.o.ddess managed to break this shackle but the road was still long for her.

She focused on using fire essence to improve her const.i.tution and potential, not refine more bones.

Half a month later, several thousand pseudo-saint beast souls roared by the river, intimidating all creatures nearby.

Feiyun had eighteen dao laws at this point and could control 5,400 beast souls at the pseudo-saint level.

“Return!” He commanded but the 5,400 beast souls were chaotic. Some wanted to rebel.

“We’ll see about that!” Feiyun’s inner core released the dao laws. They turned into heavenly pillars and created a prison in the middle.

After a whole day and night, he suppressed the beast souls back to his body. Alas, his eyes had a savage gleam as his blood boiled.

His power grew out of his control, causing him to roar. His hair started flying as he unleashed a punch, evaporating the fire essence nearby and changing the direction of the world river.

‘s.h.i.+t, this is still not enough, their wild nature is taking over and my demon blood is activated again.’ He closed his eyes and still had sanity for now.

He had four different natures within him - human, evil, demon, beast. The human side was the dominant but now, the b.e.a.s.t.i.a.l side took over and the human side became the weakest.

‘I must retain control.” He clenched his fists and took a deep breath. When he opened his eyes again, he relaxed more than before but his pupils remained blood red with an aura of restrained wildness.
