Chapter 8 – Being Chased to Death

SFZ – Vol 2 Chapter 8 – Being Chased to Death

On one hand we exterminated variant zombies on the road, while on the other we progressed further into the depths. As we went deeper it seemed as if the density of variant zombies seemed to drop-off. It appears that I am approaching the next monster area. Just as antic.i.p.ated, after a while we discovered an approximately 2 meter tall human-like figure, from head to toe its entire body was enclosed in black armour, it seemed as if nothing could escape from its body.

From a distance using , I identified the monster to be a Departed Warrior, a [level 100] monster, it has lifesteal such that it would automatically recover health, defence is astonishing and knows continuous skills, 20% resistance against dark magic, and no weaknesses.

This monster is d.a.m.n impressive! Firstly I commanded Lucky to scour the surroundings and stand alert, I need to test the waters against this monster.  Lucky then immediately began scouring the area.

I rushed straight ahead towards the Departed Warrior. He really quickly discovered me, with a grab, in its hand appeared a black ivory sword. With a few steps I rushed infront of it, at a close enough range I hacked downwards, the Departed Warrior unexpectedly nimbly moved sideways, allowing the downwards slash to pa.s.s through. After the sword fell to the ground,  I relied on my own high strength to simply follow up into a sweep, the slash landed.

Ding! The rebound jolted me, and made me fall back three steps. This f**king monster’s defence is too ridiculous, that strike only managed to deplete 113 health!

After my attack finished, the Departed Warrior immediately rushed over. His speed is also a bit too extreme, in a blink of an eye it already arrived infront of me, and I was unable to dodge. After only seeing him sweep, I repeatedly tried to fall back nevertheless the strike landed,  I only felt my body jolt then violently I sprayed a mouthful of blood, it was like being ran over by a truck.  However the attacks haven’t stopped, the Departed Warrior spun around 360 degrees and used it momentum along with the rebound energy from earlier to strike me once, then urgently followed up with the second successive strike, and then the third in succession. I could be considered to be dead, three hit combo! My HP rapidly fell until 19 HP, this f**ker used a continuous skill and finished me in a second! I estimate that if it wasn’t for my health being higher than a regular player I would have died already, but I am no regular player, because who let me have a protection collar!?

TL Note: The protection collar is the collar he received in V1 Chapter 4 (Excess damage will be transferred to magic pet)
I secretly rejoiced, then the Departed Warrior rushed towards me again. This f**ker wants me dead!

“Lucky! Save me!”

Hearing my cries, Lucky used Hurricane at me, the Departed Warrior originally in its attacking posture ended up spinning away from its original position.  Taking advantage of the opportunity, I rushed forwards and slashed multiple times, If I can’t kill you then I’ll still pent my frustrations on you!
After realizing it was nothing compared to Lucky, the Departed Warrior turned his body and started running.  Unfortunately for it, it seemed as if his two short legs couldn’t compare to Lucky’s  wings, after not even running two steps Lucky managed to claw at the monster knocking it flying into the cliff wall, a flash of white light appeared and it died.

I hurriedly ran over, rich  I’m rich! Two gold coins were on the ground! Haha! It seems like high level monsters are quite rich, it’s a shame it’s armour doesn’t drop as well, such a cool set of armour doesn’t respect a dead person!
Suddenly while I was dreaming, a large sound could be heard from the valley.  Listening to it, it seemed to be the sounds of troops running, after a moment I understood what it was. At the bend infront appeared  a row of eight Departed Warriors, they arranged themselves neatly and were running over, even more terrible is behind lines, and lines of them didn’t stop appearing, I just killed a Departed Warrior at the door is there really a need to send an army to kill me?!

Although Lucky is a high level magic pet, and it’s intelligence isn’t high, looking at the approaching forces it turned it’s head, grabbed me and started running away. I don’t know how many tens of thousands of departed warriors are behind me chasing after me. As I rode on the back of Lucky I couldn’t see the large army tailing behind us, and whether it was dropping off. Although Lucky is normally fast, Lucky is only [level 67], carrying me on his back while flying is indeed difficult. The army of Departed Warriors seemed to draw closer, and closer towards us, from time to time I could only throw some couple of no-pain, and no-itch magic missiles to try and aid the situation. Lucky seemed to receive some enlightenment and lost his head as he began flying while throwing violent fireb.a.l.l.s. My magic damage is nothing Lucky’s so I could only dejectedly watch Lucky as Lucky effortlessly threw fireb.a.l.l.s

To be honest, if I didn’t need to worry about us being chased pitifully like dogs, this levelling method may be pretty good. The Departed Warriors continued to chase till the Canyon entrance. Shortly after flying out of the entrance, we looked back praying that the Departed Warriors stopped chasing after running out of their territory!

Sadly G.o.d apparently couldn’t hear our prayers (I am a Dark Warrior, am I supposed to pray to G.o.d? Just now, I really want to turn and pray towards Satan!) The Departed Warriors did not even stop, and continued running straight past the entrance towards me, frightened out Lucky and I turned and ran.

“Clap! Clap!”

Lucky appropriately chose to fly directly towards the Lost City, the entrance to the canyons is located at the rear of the city where there is no entrance. I’ll see if they’ll chase me there! I saw a type of monster skipping over the water coming towards me though I don’t believe that a water monster would pay me any heed.

—–

After crossing into the city, we fell paralysed on the ground. Lucky is tired, and I am scared out of my wits! These f**kers are so scary; afterwards I won’t ever provoke them for exp! However, on the road while running and blasting we unexpectedly rose to [level 70] Haha! level 100 monsters give a lot of exp, sadly there’s no way to pick back all that gold they dropped.

We took a deep breath of relief, and then a familiar voice could be heard above us. “Purple Sun brother? What happened to you?” Clark asked while looking at the c.h.i.n.ks in my armour.
I raised my head looked at Clark on the pavement and said “Ai! I arrived at the Dark Canyons to level then I came across this Departed Warrior monster, after killing one I attracted an entire army, and they chased me straight till I arrived in the city!

“You killed the Departed Warriors in the Dark Canyon?”Clark exclaimed

“Yup! Is there anything wrong?”

“You’re really brave!”

“So what’s the matter then?”

After Following Clark till an appraisal building and entering Clarke introduced me to the manager who is the president of Lost City’s Appraisal Guild. Listening to me kill a Departed Warrior in the Dark Canyon, the old guy laughed till he choked, it really seemed as if he would die laughing!

“So what are you up to?” Listening to him laugh the whole time, I couldn’t help but get a bit p.i.s.sed.

The old man seeing me get angry tried to stop laughing. “You really don’t know?”

“Know what?”

“You went on the wrong road in the Dark Canyons, you approached the Dark Demon’s Hall that was being guarded, it’s fortunate you only met the surround few subordinates!

“What? A few subordinates? They’re level 100 Departed Warriors! Isn’t that a bit perverted? I just barely killed one, and I p.i.s.sed off tens of thousands?

The old man laughed: “That Dark Palace has always been a forbidden area to them, so the Dark clans pledged to use their all to protect it.”

“Of course, that’s because of the origin of darkness energy, so most darkness powers are there. Rumour says that at the creation of the world, during the creation of the core, it split into two parts, one of those parts is located at the origin of Darkness!”

“Capturing?”The president and Clark looked in awe at me. The president said: “Capturing the origin of darkness is completely impossible! Because it’s being too tightly protected! You only managed to reach the outer layers of the Forbidden Area, afterwards there’s countless level 250 Departed Warriors guarding the area, at an even deeper layer are level 350 Dark mages guarding it. Even if you can make your way past these guards, you still cannot capture the origin of darkness. It’s reportedly said that there are 8 identical darkness palaces within the forbidden area, ever palace has 7 levels, every levels has also countless guards ranging from level 400 to 800 guarding it, do you think you can do it?”
Unconvinced, I said: “I have Lucky, I only require him to reach Level 800, what monster is stronger than a dragon?”

(L: Pun here, I have Lucky (the dragon) can also be read as I have luck
“Let’s not even mention you reaching Level 800, even if you reached Level 900 it isn’t enough. Because at the end guarding the origin of darkness are 2 Level 1000 Dark Dragons!”

“Ai! It seems as if there’s no hope at all!”
