Chapter 2 - A snake falls from heaven

TBoSP Chapter 2 - A snake falls from heaven
Human World.

It is currently summer. The colour blue fills the sky. Flowers in full bloom, birds tweeted and chirped. It is a calming peace, an ambience befitting the different colours gracing Mother Earth. However, a strange air lingers. As though a calamity will soon come, even those pa.s.sing by would feel the strangeness in the air.

"Let me make myself clear. I refuse! I, Mu Tang Chun, will not let you decide whom I will marry! Marriage is my most important turning point in my life, and I"m not going to sit there just because you once promised me to some guy I never met even before I was born!!"

A loud voice echoed in a luxurious villa. The owner of the voice, a woman, is rejecting profusely at her parent"s proposal. A tense atmosphere fills the air.

"Chun Chun, please calm down! Mr. Mo"s son, Mo Ran Chen, who will be your fiancee is returning back to this country soon. He will transfer to your school in two days. He"ll be your cla.s.smate too. Matters such as love or getting to know each other, you can foster those feelings slowly instead."

Her parents are clearly aware of their beloved daughter"s stubborn temperament. Hard as rock but nevertheless, still convincible. Thus, they tried their best to persuade her patiently and slowly.

"I refuse to do this "feeling nurturing"! I don"t even know his name or his face! Why would I want to try to love him in the first place?!"

Mu Tang Chun loathes the very idea of her life being set in stone. Daddy and Mummy has gone way overboard about this matter! They actually hid this engagement from her for so long! Her juvenile heart refused to accept this turn of events.

"Chun Chun, I"m afraid there"s no way out of this. Both families have already come to an agreement about the bethrotal. Besides, Ran Chen is coming back soon. So, you--"

"N-No... I don"t want this.... Daddy, Mummy, this is too much! I hate you!"

She interrupted her father"s words, and turned to leave the room in a flurry of footsteps. She slammed the door hard as she exits the room. Tears rolled down her cheek as she cried all the way to her room.

......

She went into her bedroom while quietly sobbing. Her parents actually forced her to do something she does not want to. Grief fills her chest. She absentmindly went onto her balcony, and breathed. In and out, she exhaled and inhaled as her sadness soon dwindled to a matchstick flame.

As though her state of mind could affect even the weather, the clear sky was soon covered by dark, grey clouds. Thunder roared and rain falls to the ground. Many did not expect the weather to change so drastically, and they could only run for shelter in a panic.

Suddenly, a silver lightning streaked through the sky. Fleeting like a comet, it"s beautiful streak went unnoticed but only to those with a keen eye.

Not long after, the clouds cleared. The sky returned to its usual blue. Not a single grey cloud remained as proof of the previous storm.

All of this happened in a blink of an eye. If it"s not for the wet ground, she would have a.s.sumed all of it is just a trick of the light. Mu Tang Chun had her mouth in an "O" shape as she stared in disbelief at the sky. Heavens, is this a dream? This is more surprising than watching a movie!

However, all this while, she did not notice a silver light heading towards where she stood in a free fall. Once she did, it was already too late. With a loud smack, the falling object landed on the top of her head.

"Whoa! A snake?!"

She clutched her b.u.mp on her head while yelling out loud in surprise at the mystery falling object. As soon as she noticed it"s a white snake, all colour drained from her face and she screamed. It"s a snake! Oh G.o.ds! She was bitten by a snake when she was young. Ever since then, she would shiver in fear when a snake is spotted.

Now that one appeared right in front of her, it"s only natural for her to scream in fright. Then, without any hesitation, she stamped the snake with her very two feet repeatedly.
