The Fiendish Man Fish was truly savage. It turned and bit Xiao Bei on the hand immediately when it was caught.

If this had been back when Xiao Bei had just entered the Dust World, this one bite would have torn off a piece of flesh from his hand. However, now, he simply pressed lightly with his left hand and the fish could no longer open its jaw. It started to struggle in agony instead.

Xiao Bei reached out with his left hand and squeezed the Man Fish"s head.

Pu! A boom rang out and the head of the fish was crushed to bits. The next moment, the fish itself vanished into thin air as Xiao Bei put it into his storage bag.

He repeated the process and soon twenty-one Fiendish Man Fish rested in his storage bag. The evolution points he obtained were just like with the beetles, much more reduced. The fish that were originally worth ten points each were now worth two instead.

After this, Xiao Bei failed to catch anything even after tossing plenty more beetle carca.s.ses into the water.

He knew that the Man Fish were now on alert.

Since he could no longer get any more of the Man Fish, he turned his attention to the matter of drawing out the Thousand Eyed Devil.

Whooo!

Xiao Bei found a boulder and threw it into the water. It whistled through the air as it fell and created a large splash when it hit the lake. However, the Thousand Eyed Devil did not show itself even after the boulder had completely sunk.

Xiao Bei wanted to go deeper into the lake to take a look, but there was no doubt that the bottom of the lake was the domain of the Thousand Eyed Devil. He would not be willing to take such a risk if he didn"t have absolute certainty in victory.

He could sense that the best outcome from venturing below would be a hasty retreat and the worst would be never coming back.

Moreover, after activating [Bold and Decisive], Wei Xiao Bei became even more firm in his idea of remaining by the lakeside and refused to take the risk.

The Thousand Eyed Devil had appeared twice before this. Both of these incidents had been related to the black beetles.

After some thought, Xiao Bei used the reeds by the lake to make a fine net before returning to the rental street.

He waited for the black beetles to appear before capturing them and putting them in the net.

These black beetles weren"t just the ordinary beetles of the real world that only knew how to scurry about.

The moment the first beetle was thrown into the net, the sound of the reed being gnawed at could be heard from within. Wei Xiao Bei knew that the reeds could not last much longer at this rate.

He didn"t dare to delay and his fingers immediately started moving. One after another black beetle dropped into the net like rain.

Soon, the net was half-filled. Xiao Bei could not care for getting any more beetles and immediately charged toward the lake.

Finally, before the beetles could chew threw the net, he threw all of them into the water.

As these hundreds of black beetles dropped into the water, several Fiendish Man Fish started to appear at the surface of the lake.

Xiao Bei did not hesitate at all. He grabbed the spear in his hand and stabbed forward multiple times like a flash of lightning.

All the Man Fish that appeared at the surface of the lake were skewered by the spear and brought back to land.

These fish were like skewered meat on the tip of the spear. They struggled with all they had and let out ear-piercing screams that caused Xiao Bei"s sensitive eardrums to hurt.

Fortunately, his Willpower was now at forty points. He was not at all affected by the illusions caused by the fish"s screams. If he had run into these guys when he was a beginner, the simultaneous scream of a dozen fish would have put him in great trouble.

Even so, Xiao Bei couldn"t tolerate the noise and shook the spear with his left hand. A vibration spread through the handle of the spear and the fish fell silent the next moment.

This one move had knocked unconscious all of the Man Fish.

One had to admit that this move from Xiao Bei was effective against smaller monsters.

He pulled the spear back and pinched all these fish to death before throwing them into the storage bag.

After clearing up the spear, he once again stabbed at the surface of the lake.

After doing so several times in a row, all the Man Fish that had appeared at the surface of the lake vanished. They had either been killed and hunted by Xiao Bei or had eaten a few beetles and vanished back into the water.

Not bad at all, Xiao Bei nodded. He had killed over fifty of the fish, which was a pretty good harvest. The only thing that was a bit of a shame was the pathetic amount of evolution points he had gotten. It was only a hundred points. Xiao Bei didn"t even want to look at the numbers after the hundred.

This was the end of his yield. The appearance of the Fiendish Man Fish hadn"t managed to draw out the Thousand Eyed Devil.

This caused Xiao Bei to be confused.

Could the Thousand Eyed Devil have moved already?

Though the Thousand Eyed Devil lived in this lake and appeared to be an aquatic creature, he could not discount the possibility of it having the ability to move on land.

Wei Xiao Bei wanted to end this as soon as possible, so he jumped into the lake. The water by the lake was shallow and only reached his leg. As he continued forward, the depth of the lake increased and the water quickly reached his waist.

It was no longer as safe here as it was by the lakeside.

Wei Xiao Bei looked around him and discovered movement in the water around him. He reached with his right hand and sent bubbles flying everywhere. The next moment, he lifted a Fiendish Man Fish out of the water and pressed lightly to crush its head before putting it in the storage bag.

Xiao Bei"s actions seemed to have provoked the careful and timid Man Fish.

For the next few minutes, the water around him seemed as if it was boiling as a school of the Man Fish swam about him. It made it difficult for Xiao Bei to determine how many of them were attacking him.

Though these Man Fish were only One-Star Elite Creatures, they still had their own trump cards.

A moment of carelessness and Xiao Bei"s leg was bitten viciously by a Man Fish.

Though the sharp teeth had only broken through Xiao Bei"s dermis, he immediately felt an itching sensation.

The teeth of the fish were venomous!

Xiao Bei picked up the fish that bit him and realized that its teeth had already fallen off, stuck to his leg.

He had never expected to be bitten by these fish and thus, did not prepare against this eventuality.

When he picked up the fish, even more of the Man Fish swarmed forward and started biting him as if he were a piece of fresh meat that had fallen into the water.

In just three seconds, his leg had been bitten all over by the Fiendish Man Fish. Some of the fish even went straight for little Xiao Bei.

Though the venom on their teeth should be lethal to an ordinary person, they were harmless to Wei Xiao Bei, who had immense recovery abilities. Still, it was a bit of an annoyance.

The itch was unbearable and would last until the venom was completely out of his body.

This meant that Xiao Bei would have to endure this G.o.d awful itch for a long time if he was bitten, even if the wound was nothing.

 Motherf.u.c.ker!

Xiao Bei immediately blew up. A current of electricity spread from his skin and in the blink of an eye, all fish within twenty meters of him showed their bellies. Though fish beyond twenty meters were not completely knocked out, their bodies had still slowed down tremendously from the shock of the electricity.

The electricity that Xiao Bei released now was far stronger than before. Even a simple release was enough to knock out most of the fish.

Then he maintained the electric discharge and placed the electrocuted fish into his storage bag.

One had to admit that this move was a good one. There were over a thousand of these Man Fish floating around him with their bellies up.

This one blast had gotten Xiao Bei two thousand additional evolution points.

Though he had earned a lot of evolution points, his heart was still hurting.

If only this had happened when he was a Two-Star. This way, he would have obtained not two thousand points, but five times that amount! Ten thousand evolution points!

Of course, Xiao Bei"s electricity discharge had not been this powerful back then. It would still have been difficult for him to electrocute all these fish.

His mood turned better once when he thought of this.

Wei Xiao Bei had just collected two hundred of the fish when he stopped moving and glanced at a distant spot in the lake.

Something with a powerful aura was rapidly moving toward here from that direction!

 The Thousand Eyed Devil!

It should be the Thousand Eyed Devil!

There was no doubt that these Fiendish Man Fish were the Devil"s favorite food and now its favorite food was being touched by someone else!

The Thousand Eyed Devil hurried over upon discovering this.

This should be the case, at least. Xiao Bei imagined the furious look of the Thousand Eyed Devil while quickly moving his hands.

These Man Fish were all excellent ingredients and he was not going to waste them.

He might not be able to find these Man Fish here next time. He had a fairly sharp sense that this would happen.

That which should come will eventually come!

Xiao Bei only managed to collect half of the dead fish before a giant hill appeared on the surface of the lake.

His muscles instantly tensed and his feet maintained a posture that allowed him to strike or retreat at any time!

It was the Thousand Eyed Devil indeed!

Xiao Bei recognized the black mountain charging toward him from a distance.

Its entire body looked like a black whale floating above the water. Vertical eyes covered its entire body, the pupils a sick yellow which gave the monster an extremely evil appearance.

Though this was the first time Xiao Bei was so clearly seeing the Thousand Eyed Devil"s appearance, the eyes on its body confirmed its ident.i.ty.
