Chapter 755: Chapter 753-Lets Just Tell A Small Lie.
Time seemed to have come to a stop as Mira clutched to me, her body seemingly gaining strength from our hug as we sat there. Time slowly slipped away as I patted through Mira"s hair and spoke.
"I know this is a lot, and in a sense, it"s not fair that I throw this at you now, but I wouldn"t have told you this if I didn"t know how to deal with it."
My words made Mira look at me weakly, her gaze holding certain emotions as she spoke.
"What way?"
To which, looking at Mira, I spoke.
"The war for the throne of the academy."
My words made Mira widen her eyes in surprise as the idea settled in her mind, though soon after, a small sigh left her mouth as she shook her head and spoke.
"As you know, there is a limit to what the wish can do for you, or in this case, for us. We won"t be sure how the reaction will take place to the wish you make."
I inwardly smiled a bit at the words of Mira. She understood the situation much better than Olivia, whose mind quickly went to thinking that everything would turn for the better once the wish was made. Mira, being more in-depth in her understanding of the world, knew that if Celestina waited, perhaps she could find a way to circ.u.mvent it all.
"Maybe, but I am not ready to give up hope. At least the wish is a way we can use it to make our lives better. I am not ready to give up on our love, are you?"
My words made Mira bite her lips as she leaned back into my embrace. She hugged me tight, seemingly afraid that I would suddenly disappear from her grasp. I didn"t reject it as I hugged her back, giving her the strength she needed for now.
"As I said before, we will be the strength for each other. We will help cover each other"s weaknesses, and together, we will go through any difficulties the world throws at us. After all, this is not the first time I will face a situation that looks impossible, and this time, I have help too."
Mira didn"t respond to it. She just kept hugging me for a moment, after which, letting go of the hug, she came to look at me eye to eye. The two of us faced each other, after which Mira went forth to take a sip of my lips, my hand holding her smooth, soft waist, holding it tight as Mira"s lips asked for my gentle kiss.
It wasn"t one of l.u.s.t or desire but one of pure emotions as we hugged and kissed, the taste of each other filling our mouths. Afterwards, we left the kiss, both our gazes meeting as Mira, with a small smile, spoke.
"You are right. We will face what comes our way, one way or another, and perhaps together, we might find a way to put down even a dragon princess that is aiming to take away my happiness, my love..."
The depth of anger and emotion in her voice even made me shiver. I could literally feel the anger burning in her, the burning anger to just kill both the dragons that were going after me. However, that won"t be easy at all, and these emotions are in such darkness that I fear Mira would no doubt be aiming for their deaths.
"You are right. We will together find a way, one way or another because I love you and want to be with you."
My sincere-sounding words made Mira rub her head against my chest, her actions cute, though I could still feel that her emotions weren"t all that set. She is putting up much of a brave front for me. Of course, I have dealt with the majority of the emotions of anger, despair, and sadness filling her, but the rest of the issues she needs to face them on their own, Mira needs to find on her own.
"And I am sure she will find it too."
Mira"s genius mind will take her to her extremes, and even I won"t be able to see the end of how it will take place. Though I am sure it won"t be a pretty picture, thus holding each other with love, Mira suddenly spoke.
"Does your family know about this situation?"
Her words carried a certain edge to which I shook my head, my gaze looking a bit vacant as I spoke.
"No, they have no idea about this, and in a sense, I didn"t want to burden them with this knowledge. You know how my mother and grandfather can be, right?"
My words made Mira wince as she spoke.
"I can see Father leading an army right into the realm of the dragons in anger if he hears about this."
I chuckled at her words as I spoke.
"That"s true. Grandpa is someone like that..."
"But don"t you think with your family knowing, it would only be better for you, especially when engagement talks are going on?"
The talk of engagement talks soured Mira"s mood, but she understood the fact that it was my decision and was very sure that I wouldn"t be choosing to agree to this, which still doesn"t take the edge off the dislike Mira has for it.
"I don"t know. I have already put the pressure on their heads about the whole hero thing, and I just don"t want to burden them more. I also will feel like a liar, having hidden something like this from them too."
The fear I was feeling was silently transferred over to Mira, who put on an understanding face, but she still didn"t seem to give up on the whole situation. A thoughtful look took over her face, seeing this, I, with a confused look, asked.
"What"s the matter?"
To this, after some time, Mira spoke.
"How about I bring this topic up?"
"How?"
I responded, asking back with surprise. Though inwardly, I was very happy with the path Mira was taking. I was guiding it a bit, but if she had gone another way, then I would have to keep insisting on not telling until she got the right idea that I wanted.
"How about I meet Grace and suddenly speak to her about some information on the princess that I have found that doesn"t look good?"
I frowned at her words as I asked back.
"What does that mean?"
"Hear me out. How about I just meet with your mother and suddenly tell her that I have found signs of a dragon seemingly stringing you around?"
To this, shaking my head, I replied.
"That still doesn"t take care of the issue of them feeling like I was lying to them or burdened them with my pain."
To this, Mira shook her head as she spoke with a focused gaze.
"I can also inform Grace that you have been put on an oath, one that had stopped you from speaking about it or even trying to show it, with me seemingly having just accidentally found
out about it."
To this, I frowned even harder, my face one of pure hesitation, though inside, I was beaming with joy, praising the mind of this beautiful, mature woman as I kept the hesitant face and
spoke.
"But that would just be lying to them. I just don"t want to lie to the ones I care about."
Mira smiled at those words, her lips placing a light kiss on my cheeks as she spoke.
"And I love that about you, but do you want your family to feel as if they are useless by telling them the truth, making them feel powerless with you hiding the original truth from them? At least this way, they have a certain sense of peace."
Even when Mira spoke of this, I kept a sad face. The prospect of lying to my family members made me feel very bad and extremely guilty, as if the very thought was harmful to me, which made Mira smile, but she kept her smile at an all-time low as she, holding onto my face,
spoke.
"Trust me, love, dragons won"t hold back for long. I am sure there will come a time when Scarlet will force you to meet with your family or even threaten them. Do you want the truth to come out then, or do you want it hidden in a small layer of lies to come out now?"
Her words seemingly affected me. I looked at her with a saddened smile, my head melting into her hands as Mira continued.
"Let them know the truth, and let"s all together as a family work to deal with the issue that is threatening our peace..."
To these words, I finally showed the face that I was moved. I went forth to take a sip of Mira"s lips with love as I spoke.
"Sure, we can do this, but I am not sure if I will be able to lie well to them. I might give myself
away."
To this, Mira smirked, her gaze full of love as she spoke.
"You don"t have to worry too much about it. Just talk your feelings, it will cover up the truth."
I nodded my head at it, looking at her with a sad smile as I muttered.
"The things I have to do to live... isn"t fair at all..."
The depth of sadness in it made Mira flinch as she pulled my head to her b.r.e.a.s.t.s, pressing my head against it as she held me close, seemingly protecting me from the world.
