Let’s get back to ten years ago, when Qing Youyue was eight. His family enjoyed a superior social status, so he always received some special treasures. His father Qing Yin often liked to ask some red dragons to clean and decorate their backyard when he left home for a mission.
Once, an old gentleman who called Qing Yin his savior, gave Youyue a seed. Unlike the other present givers, he didn’t boast about his gift; he only asked him to plant it in the middle of the backyard, then left without any explanation.
While Youyue was staring at the seed with his whole heart, the old gentleman simply departed from his sight. He just wanted to ask what this was, but the old man didn’t give him the chance.
As an outstanding Elder, Qing Yin never dared to accept any gift without clearly identifying its source, never mind planting it in the backyard. He couldn’t figure out what it was after a careful study, so he invited some professionals to discuss it.
All of them a.n.a.lyzed the seed for some time. It was not like a bomb, or a transformable machine, nor was it similar to any material that could be forged.
Finally, after a cautious discussion, they decided that it was simply a seed which could be planted and become a big tree. They thought Qing Yin was making a fuss about this.
But Qing Yin was not an ordinary man. His doubts about this seed and the old man continued. He believed that if the old one was not a psycho, he must have some reason.
“Elder Qing, you always have good perspective, so why did you fall into a mistake this time?” A sharp tongue suddenly broke the silence in the hall.
“I am sorry, Elder Ke, for bothering you to come. But I stick to my opinion. Caution is the parent of safety,” Qing Yin insisted.
“For your cautiousness, we brought here so many detecting instruments that consumed much of our inner powers. Have you ever considered how to recompense us?”
Elder Ke lifted up four fingers, and requested with a greedy expression, “The materials for making ’ shield in four main dimensions, Z, M, W, and Y. I’m sure you can afford the price?”
“What? The materials for ’ shield? And in four main dimensions? Elder Ke, to be honest, my family’s advantage is speed. We have less contact with those materials of high-level defending,” Qing Yin answered.
“Hm. . . I just had a try and you missed it. Can you bring out anything of worth to me? No, I don’t think so,” Elder Ke mocked.
“Ina, bring the bursting claws of four dimensions for Elder Ke. That is the treasure of our Ke Family,” Qing Yin ordered. “Besides, I bet Elder Ke is asking for this kind of material, right?”
He pointed out Elder Ke’s foolishness of trying to grab only top materials without a plan related to his own advantages.
“Yes, my lord,” Ina answered.
Elder Ke also understood his meaning in the offering. He felt he’d lost face, so when he got the materials, he left quickly.
Other professionals also asked for leave as quickly as possible.
During the night, Qing Yin lay in bed with the seed in hand, not giving up.
“What is a door? And a door leading to where?” He was considering something he didn’t understand.
Crack!
The door was pushed open from outside and a little head ducked in. It was Youyue.
“Dad, I have something to ask you. Would you come out to talk to me?” Youyue asked, stammering with fear in his voice.
“Em? Okay, let me come out with you.” Qing Yin got up and left the bed to take the hand of his son to enter the boy’s room.
Qing Yin saw many low-end materials and some semi-finished products. He touched the head of little Youyue and said softly, “You are practicing so hard.”
“Yes, Dad, but I didn’t have any success, and wasted many materials. I . . . I just don’t know how to release the strength of forging from my left hand.” Youyue blushed, and he just didn’t dare look at his father.
“Take it easy, Youyue. I don’t mean to put pressure on you.” Qing Yin tried to make him feel better.
“You are good at choosing the materials and putting them in the correct position. The only problem is the last step of combining them together to become a machine. It is not a big deal, trust me. You can practice memorizing those materials first.”
Though he explained this in a simple way, as an Elder of Suman City, he knew clearly how wonderful the last step was.
Besides, the higher the level was, the better understanding about the last step was needed.
Since he inherited the position of Elder of this family, he used this position to learn more about this and he also got more opportunities to discuss it with other families. After many fights, he himself only reached level Y.
The levels from the basic to the top were: Z, C, Y, M, C, S, W, We, S, Y, X, H.
When a Suman person began to have the feeling of the forging strength in their left hand, they entered the first level, Z.
With more knowledge and experience, he would make progress and upgrade to a higher level.
But the upgrading system was not smooth. The knowledge and experience you need for each level was not equal.
The energy necessary for reaching and pa.s.sing the four main dimensions were much more than the common levels.
And the forgers should make an even greater effort after reaching the four main dimensions, otherwise, he would lose the chance to upgrade to a higher level.
And a completed forger was much more powerful than a new one reaching each of the four main levels.
That’s why the four dimensions were called the main dimensions.
Qing Yin was not sure if Youyue was at level Z.
Based on his performance, that he couldn’t make a tiny component of a machine, was indicative that he was not at the Z level of function.
But he would not believe that with such good family genes, he hadn’t reached level Z. He was ten already.
It would be a joke if someone outside heard this.
Anyway, if he was really at level Z, he only spent time memorizing the materials, and couldn’t bring out any real product, this would also hinder his ability to upgrade.
