Chapter 424: Treating Her Like A Soft Persimmon?
“You are Feng Tianlan?” The headmaster, Qi Hongan, sat in the middle seat on the stage. He looked down at her from where he sat and scrutinized Feng Tianlan. She was small and thin, but she possessed the royal aura. Even though she hadn’t said a word, it was difficult to ignore her presence. It was a very strong aura.
Qi Hongan didn’t like the fact that this woman had such a strong aura. Furthermore, she was the one who bullied Pei’er and deserved to die!
“Yes.” Feng Tianlan raised her head and met Qi Hongan’s gaze coldly. He was the headmaster of the Flying Frost Pavilion and also Qi Shujie’s father as well as Tu Xiupei’s master. He gave off honorable energy, however, hints of disdain flashed in his eyes as he looked at her. He seemed to be just another sanctimonious hypocrite.
The reputation of the headmaster of Flying Frost Pavilion was not bad, but he was suspected by Shang Chengle. Things were not as simple as they seemed.
“You have only been here for no less than four days, and yet you have managed to cause trouble multiple times already.” Qi Hongan glanced at her sharply as he raised his hand and took her jade tablet from her. He placed it in his hand and gave it a gentle wipe. “Your punishment is to be an external disciple for a year and retake the test next year.”
Feng Tianlan watched as Qi Hongan wiped the jade tablet and immediately her name disappeared from the newcomer’s list. Her connection to the jade tablet disappeared as well.
Being an external disciple for a year and retaking the test next year meant she wouldn’t be able to practice for a year. She would also miss the test to go to the Xuantian Continent.
Feng Tianlan watched Qi Hongan’s expression from the corner of her eye. He really did use his authority to settle personal grudges! He must be impatient to avenge Qi Shujie and Tu Xiupei.
“Master!” Tu Xiupei stood up in front of the crowd and kneeled before him. She cried out in a pitiful voice, “Eldest Sister did not cause trouble on purpose! I beg you, Master, give Eldest Sister a chance!”
“Headmaster! We retaliated because they started it first.” Luo Yunzhu stood up anxiously after seeing Feng Tianlan’s name disappear from the newcomer’s list. “It was Zhao Haojiang and Hu Kemeng who went overboard. If you want to punish someone, punish them instead!”
As the third rank on the newcomer’s list, Lin Suyin stood up as well and looked at Feng Tianlan. “Headmaster, I am the witness. Miss Feng retaliated because Senior Brother and Senior Sister were indeed the ones who started it first.”
Qi Hongan glared down at all of them and spoke in a deep tone, “If anyone else dares to plead for her, I will disable Feng Tianlan’s spiritual force and kick her out of the Flying Frost Pavilion! The people who have pleaded will be removed as well and are to never set foot in the Flying Frost Pavilion again.”
“Master!” Tu Xiupei’s eyes brimmed with tears.
“Headmaster!” Luo Yunzhu and Lin Shuyin shouted determinedly.
Qi Hongan turned to Feng Tianlan who remained silent the whole time. “Do you have any objections?”
“Yes, I do.” Feng Tianlan replied seriously.
“…” Qi Hongan was taken aback. As a disciple, shouldn’t she reply “No, Headmaster” when chided like this by him?
“Is Headmaster trying to say that I am not allowed to even explain myself when accused like this?” Feng Tianlan raised her eyes to meet his and curled her lips slightly. Did he really think she was someone who could be easily be picked on, like a soft persimmon?
“Y-You caused trouble first…”
Feng Tianlan was not frightened by his authority as the headmaster. She continued speaking rudely, “That day, my spiritual force was that of an Advanced-stage Spiritual Master. It should be impossible for me to defeat Zhao Haojiang, who is a First-stage Spiritual Grandmaster with more than ten others who are Spiritual Masters and above. Furthermore, the other day when Hu Kemeng said that there were no vacant rooms left, She purposefully insulted me. Moreover, just a while ago, it was Zhao Haojiang once more who came to pick a fight. Can you explain in what way was I responsible for all those incidents?”
“If not for you, why would there be so many incidents…”
“If a dog were to bite me, should I stand there and just let it attack?” Feng Tianlan raised her head and spoke with disdain, “If Headmaster insists on playing favorites and continues to take revenge for the two of them on me, I will be forced to take the blame. And if that’s the case, I’d rather not be a Flying Frost Pavilion disciple.”
