Chapter 848: Feng Tianlan Asks Xi Jin
Because of Big Brother Jin’s feelings for her, it did not matter if she were to suffer now. She would find an opportunity in the future to cause the early death of the Empress Dowager. When the time came, Big Brother Jin, who loved her so much, would be able to make her a consort as he wished.
It was not as if she could not put up with it for now!
As for Luo s.h.i.+yun, there was nothing to be afraid of when they moved to the back residence. There would be plenty of opportunities to make the bimbo die of unknown causes.
Xi Jin’s face looked delighted, and then he bowed in agreement. He said, “I promise Imperial Grandmother that I will not favor Ya’er alone.”
Although they had agreed, the Empress Dowager’s face did not improve. Instead, she looked even grimmer as she said, “In that case, I will confer Shen Yunya as the Crown Prince’s common consort. Go back for today. Tomorrow, you will be carried into the Imperial Palace and enter from the back door into the East Palace. You will reside in the West Partial Palace. As for tonight, it is the big wedding of the Crown Prince and secondary consort. You must stay with the secondary consort there.”
The Empress Dowager spoke about a lot of things in a cold voice before getting up and saying, “I am tired. I will first return to the palace.”
The Emperor quickly got up and held the Empress Dowager’s hand. He said, “I’ll help Mother back to the palace to rest.”
After the Empress Dowager and Emperor left, the oppressive atmosphere somewhat improved, and everyone present looked at one another but still dared not speak.
“Concerning today’s event, once you leave the palace gates, you must be cautious with your mouths, lest you bring calamitous disaster upon yourselves,” said the Empress with an imposing gaze. She briefly swept her eyes across everyone present and finally fixed a hard stare at Shen Yunya. She said, “Miss Shen, go back for tonight. You will be carried into the palace tomorrow. Everyone can be dismissed.”
All the people bowed and excused themselves.
Shen Yunya’s gaze met with Xi Jin’s longingly before she allowed Yuan Fangfei to help her up and leave the East Palace.
“Does the Demon King’s Princess Consort wish to speak to Lin’er?” The Empress lightly frowned when she saw that Feng Tianlan had not gone yet.
Feng Tianlan made a light sound of acknowledgment and looked up at Xi Jin to say, “Mobai would like me to convey something to the Crown Prince, so I would like to ask the Crown Prince to walk with me for a chat.”
Today’s incident was too strange. She thought it was set up by Xi Jin in order to push Shen Yunya to a cliff’s edge to the point of no return where she could do nothing other than continue all the way down. Xi Jin had succeeded in making Shen Yunya a common consort without any other choice.
It was like seeing the return of the clever Big Brother Jin. However, it was also not the same, because the old him would despise this kind of scheme.
Xi Jin looked at her in puzzlement and moved to the front so he was outside of the hall. Because such a thing happened, the East Palace was quiet with no one around at this time.
“What is the message from the Demon King to me?” he asked.
Feng Tianlan looked up at Xi Jin underneath the moonlight. His face looked exhausted and nothing more, except that the warm voice sounded cool to her ears.
It felt as if the previously gentle and innocent Big Brother Jin was gone.
“After you brought Miss Shen inside, a man also followed in and did not come out until a quarter of an hour later. Following which, the Empress and the others arrived,” Feng Tianlan said.
Xi Jin’s breathing slightly quickened and then returned to normal. He looked down at the woman in front of him who had made him feel that she was Dai’er many times. He curled his lips and asked nonchalantly, “So?”
He thought that no one was aware of what he did, except he had not expected Feng Tianlan to witness it. But he did not know why he felt at peace instead. He thought she would not expose him.
“Why would you do that?” Feng Tianlan lifted her eyes and looked straight at him. Was it because he knew something? Or had Sister Lin told him the truth?
