Chapter 33: I"m Not Targeting You. I"m Saying That Everyone Here Is Rubbish

He can bear with this? Yan Huang observed his father"s expression and noticed that he showed no intention to retaliate. He shook his head. He went to the kitchen and took a pair of clean chopsticks for him.

Yan Huang could stand up for his father and beat his Fourth Uncle and his family up. He could hit them till they vomited blood and couldn"t get off the bed. However, this was the worse strategy. His father was a family man. He valued his family very much. Hence, if Yan Huang did this, he would be deemed as an unfilial child.

Thus, he could not do this.

Most importantly, Yan Huang hoped that his father would speak up for himself. That was the best thing that could happen.

w.a.n.g Nannan looked at Yan Huang. When he sat down, she said, “Yan Huang, you are in the second semester of your senior high school year, right?”

Yan Huang looked at the plump lady coldly. He wondered what she was up to again.

Normally, Shui Xiaolian would say something now. However, at this moment, she looked at w.a.n.g Nannan coldly too. w.a.n.g Nannan couldn"t tell what Shui Xiaolian was thinking.

w.a.n.g Nannan"s heart jumped. She looked at the two people who were staring at her with cold eyes. She felt weird. If Yan Huang did this, she could still understand his actions. He was a slow and cowardly person after all. However, Shui Xiaolian had always stood up for her son. Why didn"t she say anything today?

w.a.n.g Nannan looked at her husband and hesitated. After a while, she decided to carry on with her plan.

Yan Huang, don"t blame me for being heartless. I can"t let my husband and son suffer.

Chen Ting and Lu Yuxi seemed to have guessed what w.a.n.g Nannan wanted to do. But, they didn"t say anything.

“What would you do after you graduate?” w.a.n.g Nannan smiled as she said, “Actually, instead of working outside where you might be bullied, why don"t you help out with the family business?”

“Our steel business is doing very well recently. Since we are all a family, you will not be bullied when you come and work for us. Am I right, father, mother?” w.a.n.g Nannan expressed her true thought to Xiao Xinlan.

Yan Haoren and Xiao Xinlan stopped eating. They looked at Yan Huang with eyes as they thought about something.

That"s right, it was hard for Yan Huang to get into university based on his current results. Instead of studying at some unknown university and wasting the family"s money, why not just help out at home?

Xiao Xinlan looked at her youngest son and her youngest grandson. If Yan Huang was able to help out, Mingzu wouldn"t need to work so hard anymore. There would be a lesser burden on the family, so they could send Xiaowu to Jiangnan First High too.

This was the ultimate reason why w.a.n.g Nannan targeted Yan Huang today.

Firstly, if Yan Huang came back to help, a huge sum of money could be saved. Her son would then have the chance to enter Jiangnan First High after he graduated from middle school. She was sure that Xiao Xinlan would agree if she begged her hard enough.

Secondly, her husband could relax more. There was a lack of iron bloom, so Yan Huang could take over her husband"s work. Killing two birds with one stone. Perfect!

“Clang!”

“Boom!”

The moment w.a.n.g Nannan finished her sentence, a loud commotion came from Shui Xiaolian"s direction.

She didn"t drop her chopsticks. Instead, she had smashed her bowl.

Shui Xiaolian"s face turned pale. She looked astounded as she jumped up from her seat.

She was in a daze. When she stood up, she accidentally knocked the table and the bowls that were placed along the edge of the table fell to the ground.

“Clang!” The white porcelain bowls shattered into pieces.

Shui Xiaolian ignored the broken bowls. Her chest was moving up and down quickly. She glared at w.a.n.g Nannan with a dumbfounded expression. Then, she looked at Yan Haoren and Xiao Xinlan. She then scanned around the table once.

None of them said anything. No one spoke up for them.

Yan Mingyao thought about something. There was a bitter taste in his mouth.

Why did he work so hard? Why did he wake up early and end work late? So that his son could have a different life! He didn"t want his son to be a blacksmith like him. He didn"t want his son to stay beside the furnace all day and night.

Yet, w.a.n.g Nannan had sent his son down the same path as him with one sentence.

She did it so that her husband could have an easier time.

She did it so that her son could get into a better school.

Yan Huang"s future was decided just like that!

“Xiaolian, what happened to you?” Xiao Xinlan asked awkwardly as she looked at Shui Xiaolian who was gritting her teeth with tears in her eyes.

“Aiyo, what happened to you?” w.a.n.g Nannan regained her senses and rushed over to Shui Xiaolian worriedly.

“Xiaowu, hurry up and get a new bowl for your Third Aunt.” w.a.n.g Nannan turned her head and said to her son anxiously. “Xiaolian, what happened? Are you alright?”

Yan Xiaowu looked at Shui Xiaolian with disdain. He went to the kitchen unwillingly and got her a new bowl.

“Let"s go.” Shui Xiaolian ignored w.a.n.g Nannan. She started crying. She reached out and grabbed her husband as she walked out.

Yan Mingyao was utterly disappointed in his family. He followed his wife out.

“Bang!” The two of them left the house and slammed the door behind them.

“This…” w.a.n.g Nannan froze on the spot. Everyone looked at her coldly. She didn"t know what to do now.

“Yan Huang, what happened to your mother today?” w.a.n.g Nannan smiled awkwardly. “She didn"t talk much during dinner today. Her temper seems bad too.”

Yan Huang ignored the plump lady. He took a piece of drumstick and ate it deliciously as though nothing happened.

Everyone was quiet. Yan Haoren"s head hurt. He looked at w.a.n.g Nannan and wanted to reprimand her. In the end, he swallowed his words and let out a huge sigh.

He felt that he was getting old.

Yan Mingguang and Yan Mingzong looked at their family members. None of them spoke. They felt that this had nothing to do with them, so they kept quiet and watched the show.

Yan Mingzu and w.a.n.g Nannan exchanged glances with each other. They scratched their head and felt helpless.

After a while, Yan Huang finished eating. He put down his chopsticks and said softly, “What a pity. The dishes are delicious but the people eating with me are disgusting.”

Silence.

The atmosphere turned even quieter.

Everyone looked at Yan Huang.

Yan Mingzu looked at his wife. He started acting. “Yan Huang, what are you saying? Did you get stupid from studying too much? We are all one family. What att.i.tude is this? Hurry up and bring your parents back!”

Yan Huang scoffed.

“My personality is mine, but my att.i.tude depends on who I"m facing.” Yan Huang smiled coldly. He turned his head and looked at Yan Mingzu with contempt. “Hence, I never hold back when talking to rubbish.”

“You… you.” Yan Mingzu"s face turned red from anger. “How dare you say that I"m rubbish.”

“No, don"t misunderstand me. I"m not targeting you. I"m saying that everyone here is a pile of rubbish!”

“What!” Everyone exclaimed in shock. They looked at Yan Huang in disbelief. Did he just scold everyone at the scene?

Why was he so bold today? Why did he suddenly become so arrogant?

Yan Mingguang looked at his wife. Lu Yuxi immediately stood up and wanted to scold Yan Huang. However, she realized that Yan Huang just ignored her. He wiped his mouth and left with his hands behind his back. He didn"t turn back to look at them again.
