Chapter 3 : I Am Your Mother… Part 3

“There’s a fresh bread inside the drawer. Open it then, you can eat it.”

“Well, I will not hold back then.” 

Gu Yuanyuan smiled at his son’s thoughtfulness, thinking that he was so considerate to offer her some food when he didn’t have to.

Inside, there was a large bag of soft and fluffy loaf bread. She opened the package and immediately smelled its rich fragrance.

Gu Yuanyuan’s mouth involuntarily drooled at the delicious aroma. A few seconds ago, she had only eaten three pieces of cookies just to barely keep her body from fainting because of starvation.

Gu Yizhou silently gave her a gla.s.s of water when he saw her, gobbling her food to the point that her face was already covered with the fluffy bread. He wanted her to eat slowly to prevent her from choking. But, he swallowed back his impending words.

He pushed over the drawer way back to the table.

And at this moment, the door was suddenly knocked a few times.

“Yizhou, are you in there?” A clear and pleasant voice of a female could be heard on the other side of it.

Gu Yuanyuan’s heart jumped in surprise as she slowed down her way of eating bread. She looked at her body and, she realized that she was still wearing a hospital gown.

Gu Yizhou took off his white coat: “Put it on.”

Gu Yizhou took off his white coat and said: “Put it on.”

Gu Yuanyuan obediently did what she was told to do.

Gu Yizhou opened the door, and then, a female doctor wearing a white coat came in. Upon entering the room, the female doctor directly spoke. “I just got a word that there was some kind of accident in the VIP rooms, Ward no. 9, Sector 3. A family member was knocked unconscious by a patient using a vase. And afterward, the patient had gone missing. The family even requested that the patient must be strictly placed under surveillance. Today, on the Sector 3, you were the doctor that was in charge on the hospital rounds (E/N: bedside visits of a physician to a patient). That family member brought a few men in black clothes and, it doesn’t look like…”

She paused when she saw Gu Yuanyuan, who was sitting on a chair and eating a bread earnestly.

d.a.m.n it! Earlier, he was just completely lying in there, and now, that pervert, Lu Wenchen suddenly woke up? This soon?

Gu Yuanyuan was shocked speechless, making her half-eaten bread fell off without notice on the clean white coat she was wearing.

“Is this…?” The female doctor was both confused and hesitant about the realization that there was a girl in Dr. Gu’s office.

It was not a new or a very surprising sight that there was a girl appearing in Dr. Gu’s office. However, what was surprising and strange was that the girl was not only occupying the doctor’s seat but, she was also eating bread and drinking water, very casually.

Perceiving that she was also wearing a white coat, the female doctor just presumed that she was only a colleague. But, there’s a fact; Dr. Gu was never close to any of his female colleagues.

There were a lot of young female doctors and nurses in the hospital who have infatuations about him. There were even others who were brave enough to pursue him openly. Yet, not even one of them had succeeded as Dr. Gu refused all of them in a very straight forward manner.

The expression of the female doctor was somewhat uncertain.

Gu Yuanyuan turned her gaze at the female doctor then, s.h.i.+fted it at Gu Yizhou again. She put aside her unfinished bread and did not say anything. She only raised her hand to wipe off the smear that was left on her face.

“I see, thank you.” Gu Yizhou replied at the female doctor’s previous words. “The patient has legs on his/her own, and wherever he/she was going, it was not a part of our concerns. And, about that family’s matters, let them be as we don’t have a control over it. Nevertheless, that patient must be only monitored at his/her will.”

The female doctor pulled back her eyes from Gu Yuanyuan and turned to face Gu Yizhou. “You’re right. I’m just worried that the family might p.i.s.s you off as they looked like the people from the underworld.
