Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams

Chapter 165

The ball started without a problem; more and more guests continued to pour in. But the more people that came here, the more nervous Lyn got. She"s never been in a place with so many people before. It made her feel incredibly nervous. She can"t breathe; her thoughts broke off when Allen placed his hand on her forehead.

"Do not fret; I am beside you."

"I"m sorry, these places make me very nervous," Lyn murmured.

Allen chuckled, "Shall we dance? Perhaps that will take your mind off things."

"You know I"m a terrible dancer."

"Just follow my lead."

Lyn sighed but followed him onto the dance floor. She somehow followed his movements, at least for a short while, anyway. But it didn"t take long before she kept stepping on his feet.

"I see you were deliberately stepping on my feet before," Allen whispered, softly when she stepped on his already bruised feet again.

At that comment, Lyn felt her cheeks color, "I"m so sorry. This is difficult for me, you know," as she kept her head down and hid her blus.h.i.+ng cheeks. This is so embarra.s.sing, why is that even now she can"t even do something simple as dancing? Lyn changed her posture and leaned closer to him. Both of them swayed according to the music.

Despite her struggle to dance, Lyn had to admit that she was having a lot of fun. She lived such a secluded lifestyle after all. While it still surprised her being surrounded with so many people, Lyn was slowly getting used to things.

"Not bad, huh? Doing something like this once in a while?"

Lyn looked up and nodded, "En," she said happily. It would be nice if Kazuya came here, though. He doesn"t like flashy b.a.l.l.s, but he seems to like the idea of dancing with her.

Before Lyn could say anymore, the lights flickered, and in a split second, the brightness of the room was replaced with a pitch-black darkness. Although it was dark, he could still navigate. Pupillam dashed over in an instance and was standing beside her, protectively, " Please do not be alarmed Princess Lyn I"m here..."

"Prince!" Carlo exclaimed.

"Do not fret. It is a mere blackout. It happens quite often since the building is old. It should come back in a matter of seconds," Lyn stated calmly, raising his voice slightly so the panicking individuals could hear him.

It"s not just a mere blackout, though.

"Carlo, follow me. Lyn, stay behind me."

Lyn did so and followed Allen since it was dark; it was difficult to see. At least normally that"s how it would be. However, for some reason, she could navigate through the darkness easily.

Once Allen clicked the switch, the room was covered in light once again. But that clearly triggered even more panic amongst the others. Since clearly in the center of the room, the great elder Abe had been stabbed in the middle, where his vital organs were. It was a terrible wound.

Lyn watches as all the others merely glanced over, not knowing what to do. "Carlo, call the---" Allen didn"t get a chance to finish his sentence since Lyn hurried over.

She knew this person. But Lyn didn"t notice him on her way in, she bent down," Princess," Abe said weakly.

"It"ll be fine. Elder Abe."

"I see....so...your like...him. No wonder...he was so drawn to you," with those words said the EElder shut his eyes.

Lyn placed a hand on the man"s neck, " Its weak but there. Teki prepare Elder"s room for him," Teki was one of Shaarya"s guards who also came along, "Pupillam, grab by bag from the main lounge..." she trails off, "No, actually for this. Just grab box 1&6, 8 &13, samples. 6, 42, 15...."

A series of numbers escaped her lips and seemed to cause people in the room to whisper. But Lyn didn"t have time to explain anything, she turned to the others, " Please do not be alarmed by this. Resume the rest of the banquet."

"But princess...."

...

After safely ensuring that n.o.body else followed them, Lyn quickly got to work. They found a spare room, secluded from all the others. She tied up her hair in a bun, to prevent it from getting in the way. Various bottles surrounded her. But after a grueling one and a half hour had pa.s.sed, Lyn realized that nothing was working.

"It"s no good like this. Even if I do this, it will only prolong his life by a few minutes," Lyn murmured. Is she doing something wrong? No, Lyn shook her head. Mentor is a good teacher, and she already applied such things to practice on the battlefield before.

"Then let"s get an expert," but Lyn disrupted her aide"s words as she reached over with her hand.

Lym frowned, " What did he tell you about it?"Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"Indeed he did and I really wouldn"t it if I were you. Its true that place and here aren"t too far away from each other. But the distance you two have right now is too far away. I wouldn"t try it; there"s too much of a risk."

Lyn shook her head, " I can"t do that Pupillam. If I have the power to save someone, then I"ll do just that," Lyn grinned, " Besides you don"t have to worry. That person is always with me; that"s why this will end up successfully."

A bright glow appears in the girl"s hands. A light of pure white. Allen frowned, "Your not.."

Lyn shook her head, "Don"t worry; this is different," even Lyn understood that using her healing magic in this place would cause a huge disturbance.

.....

It took quite some time, but it seemed to have worked since the EElder stirred. She asked Allen to call for regular medics then and left the room. A deep sigh pa.s.sed her lips as she collapsed to the ground. That was exhausting; she"s no medic expert. But she can treat wounds according to the magic her mentor taught her.

Staying strong and courageous no matter what the situation, huh?

But there"s one word that she never says before a fight, because there really isn"t a need for her to say it. There"s no need for her to admit it. Lyn managed to slip away from Pupillam and the guards on duty. The second she saw the disturbance earlier she sent Kyouya there. However, it won"t do her any good for her to wait around and do nothing after all its clearly obvious who their targets are. No, there"s no use saying targets. There"s only one person there aiming for.

Slas.h.i.+ng elder Ono was a mistake; the person they were aiming for was not herself. But her fiancé, after all during that distance elder Ono was closest to Allen. My my, if that"s how it"s going to be then she can"t stay out of it, can she? Allen, the longest of time. For the longest time " I have wanted to see you." The person she"s always wanted to see again. After all, parting on such an awkward note wasn"t something she was fond of, and perhaps her business was never finished.

It"s dark, pitch black. She"s always been afraid of two things only — the dark and lightning. Usually, her eyes can"t adjust to the dark, but she could see it clearly. The brightness in the moon. Even if it"s dark out, there"s always a light form elsewhere.

The being afraid factor aside, she really did hate it. The darkness. It reminded her of so many things — obsession, grief, nostalgia, sadness.

The colours that are surrounding the darkness. It"s merely black. Grey and white. The world she always lives in. That"s why she disliked it a great deal.

Now that she thought about it, that person said something about it before.

"No matter where you are, people find a way to entertain themselves."

Lyn always thought that he was merely amusing himself with that thought. Since whenever she went anywhere, there was never anything interesting. It was always dull for her and boring, so this is what that guy meant and her lips curved into a devilish smile.
